Chapter 2 – The Book in His Mind
Li Zhen sat alone in the forest, his body weak and bloodied. The pain from the war still lingered, but his heart was calm. He was alive—somehow.
"I died… didn't I?" he muttered, looking at his hands. They were younger. His body wasn't the one that had fought for years. It was the body of his younger self—back when he had just started cultivation.
It didn't make sense.
His eyes narrowed. Then it came—a strange warmth in his mind.
He closed his eyes.
Inside his consciousness, there was something new. A book. Not a real one—but the full memory of it. Every page, every technique, every secret—burned into his soul.
"This… this is the artifact," he whispered. "The one they all died for."
He remembered now. That mysterious book had no title, no author. But it held cultivation methods lost to time, techniques stronger than anything in the world.
And now—it was part of him.
Li Zhen's lips curled into a cold smile. "So this is the reason I came back."
He wasn't confused anymore. Fate had given him a second chance. A chance to rise again—but this time, smarter… colder… stronger.
"I won't waste it."
