Skylar's POV
Finally Friday came and Skylar was standing at the gate of her son's kindergarten , thankful that the hectic week is finally over , when Mariah approached her.
"HI Skylar, how are you, I haven't received any message from you regarding the party, Michael has been asking me everyday if Duwayne will be there" Mariah asked with a friendly smile
Smiling back , Skylar responded "HI Mariah , please accept my apologies, I have been so busy and consumed by work , I completely forgot about the invite, we will definitely be there , tell Michael I apologize for keeping him in such suspense" Skylar joked.
With a smile Mariah responded " OH my Goodness, thank you, I don't know what I would have done if you guys didn't come, he is so exited to have his friend over at our house, speaking about the games and candy they will be playing and eating. I can't wait to tell him, thank you Skylar " Mariah responded.
"It's a pleasure , just text me the time and address and we will be there " Skylar responded.
After saying their goodbyes ,school came out,and like every day this week , Duwayne approach Skylar with a big smile and a cheerful " HI Mommy"
As it was Skylar's weekend off ,she decided to head straight home and advise the office she will be working from home.
Once home , she made a quick afternoon snack and sat outside in the small garden her apartment had and looked at her son playing in the self made sand pit with his toy cars.
Deciding to have a drink she poured herself a glass of red wine and sat back enjoying the blissful moment with her son. Next to her ,her phone dinged with a message.
Opening her messages she saw the name of Mariah with the time and address of where the party will be.
Hi Skylar,
The party is tomorrow at 13h00.
Address - 1122 Victoria Lane - Cashane
Please bring a swimming costume and some extra dry clothes for Duwayne.No need to bring any snacks or drinks, everything has been arranged.

Looking at the message, Skylar couldnt help buz feel a bit anxious, she has never been good in meeting new people or making new friends , she has always been a loner until she met her son's father , he gave her a sense of confidence whenever they were in public, but that all vanished once he left her.
Taking slow breaths she mentally prepared herself for the next day.
After spending most of the afternoon outside in the sun and 3 glasses of wine later , they finally headed inside.
Skylar ran Duwayne a nice bath and watched him play around in the water with his toy boats after which him up, she ordered some pizza to be delivered as she was in no mood to be anywhere near the the stove tonight.
Before the food came , She quickly jumped in the shower and washed up.
Once done , she heard the doorbell ring and headed to the door in order to retrieve the pizza.
The delivery guy greeted Skylar, handed the pizza over , took his payment and rushed off for his next delivery.
Smelling the pizza , Duwayne came dashing down the hall with sparkling eyes when he spotted the pizza , hardly being able to contain his excitement.
They ate up and Skylar told Duwayne he needs to head to bed early tonight as he will be having a fun filled day with his friend Michael the next day.
Waiting up the next day, Duwayne was filled with so much excitement he was practically bouncing of the walls, Skylar made them both a nice breakfast containing some toast, beacon, eggs and sausages. After breakfast they heading to the shops to stock up on some groceries and buy Michael a gift.
By the time they came home it was 11h30, Skylar advised Duwayne to jump the shower and got him dresses , after he was clean and ready, she focused on herself. Not being able to decide what to wear she decided on a yellow flowered knee lengthed summer dress with open toe sandals, a sling bag and minimum make up, due to the heat, Skylar was not in the mood to worry about oily or runny make up.
It was now 12h45 and they were both ready to head to the party, checking that everything was closed , Skylar locked her apartment and headed for the car.
Typing in the address on the GPS, they pulled out of her complex and were on their way.
" Are you excited my baby" Skylar asked Duwayne.
" Yes Mommy, I am gonna have so much fun with my frwend, he said we are going to play lots of games and eat many cadies " Duwayne said with an exciment that felt like he was about to explode.
Laughing, Skylar wondered what kind of people she will be meeting, hopefully they were nice to her son, her Main concern was always that people treated her son with love and kindness.
"You have reached your destination" the lady over the GPS stated
Not realizing that we were there , Skylar looked up and saw a beautiful house , which must have been a 4 to 5 bedroom house, build against a mountain with the most beautiful view over our town, there were trees lined up in the drive way leading you directly to the front door.
With a mouth gaped open Skylar pulled up to the house, looking around she saw a few beautifull and expensive cars standing around, and a few people here and there.
Before Skylar could procees everything she heard a little voice calling out
"Mommy my friend is here, Mommy Duwayne is here"
Looking around she saw Michael running out of the front door towards their car and rushing over to Duwayne's side, not being able to loosen the seat belt quick enough, Duwayne got quite frustrated as he was rushing to meet his friend, helping him with his seat belt Skylar unclasped it and he bolted out of the car without even a second glance Skylar's way.
The two boys hugged each other and started giggle and smiling as if they hadn't seen each other for years.
Turning off the car , Skylar stepped out and locked it , only to be greated by Mariah herself, the shorts and summer top she wore , fitted so beautifully on her curvy body, her brown hear curled and loose around her face , framing her beautiful face , I stared at her for a moment too long and was quite embarrassed when she noticed me stating.
Being unable to contain myself i couldnt help but compliment her.
" HI Mariah, I swear each time I see you, you become more and more beautiful"
With a she smile she responded " OH stop, you are just a beautiful,if not more"
Beautiful is not something that Skylar would describe herself as ,with curly bob hair, almond shaped brown eyes , thick lips and a slender figure , Skylar has always been envious of woman with a more curvy figure.
Smiling at Mariah , Skylar just said a simple " thank you"
Mariah invited her into the house and Skylar's eyes went wide due to the beauty of the house, everything inside was so simple but yet so elegant and modern. It looked like one of those houses you only see on movie screens or magazines.
Looking around Skylar wished for something like this, knowing that she might never reach such a level of lavishness she followed Mariah outside to the pool area,
With her heart in her throat she realized how many people there actually was, elders, couples, young teens and mostly small kids, some she recognized from Duwayne's kindergarten and others she did not know at all.
Introduction were made and Skylar had to take a few deep breaths to keep calm.
Mariah was introducing Skylar to her cousin Lorenzo , when she looked behind Skylar and smiled from ear to ear.
"Skylar, let me introduce you to my Brother , Alejando" she smiles
Turning around I was faced with the most beautiful white man I have ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes on.
