Chapter 2 - CHÀPTÉR 2; Thè Lâst Stãnd

Quinn's steps were slow, the weight of everything that had happened settling on his chest as he walked down the familiar street toward his apartment. His head was heavy with frustration and sadness, and he barely noticed the darkened alley ha was about to pass until he heard a scream.

It was faint at first, but as he paused, it became clearer -more desperate. His instincts kicked in, and he turned toward the sound.

There, in the dim light of the alley, he saw her. A young woman, struggling under the grip of a man, her eyes wide with terror. The man's leering face twisted into a sickening grin as he grabbed her by the throat caressing her chest.

Without thinking, Quinn's body moved on it's own. I can't just stand here and do nothing.

He rushed in, adrenaline coursing through him. The man was distracted, and Quinn managed to tackle him to the ground." Let her go!" Quinn shouted, his voice hoarse with the anger that had been brewing inside him for weeks.

The assailant's eyes widened in surprise, but his rage soon overcame him. "You think you can stop me?" He snarled, reaching for a knife hiddenin his coat.

Quinn barely dodged in time, but the man slashed across his side, a hot pain searing through him. His own blood stained his shirt, but he didn't stop. He kept fighting, grabbing the man's wrist and twisted it until the knife fell. With a final punch, the man stumbled back ,but Quinn was already bleeding too heavily. His vision blurred as he turned to the girl, who was frozen in shock.

"Go! Get out of here! Call the police!" Quinn shouted, but his voice was barely above a whisper now.

The girl hesitated, but then, with a quick glance at him, she ran. The last time Quinn saw before his body gave way to darkness was her figure disappearing into the night.
