Vivianne was left at the hospital for now because Sharlene was still talking to the person she needed to speak with about what they discussed earlier.
I must be honest—I cannot remain inactive. She thought to herself. She still remembered back then; she was just a child when she witnessed that event.
After burying the woman she had seen, and with the surroundings now quiet, she hurriedly went to the place where the woman she had observed was laid to rest.
Vivianne tried to help it, but what could she do? She decided to dig it back up. However, a heavy rain caught her, making her task even more challenging, as the ground she had just covered turned muddy.
I'll call my sister; I'll ask her for help. That's what she thought in her young mind. Vivianne is ten years old, and Sharlene is twelve years old.
She hurriedly moved when her gaze caught a crying woman. The rain had also stopped, and her hands were full of mud. She was also drenched from the rain. She was stunned by the woman, swallowed hard, and stared at her.
"S—Sister?" Vivianne called out to her.
It even halted its crying and turned its gaze towards her.
Child? Do you see me? The woman asked, a tear slipping from her eye.
She weakly nodded; the woman looked at her, her hand bloodied.
"I'm sorry I couldn't help you." Asking for forgiveness, she pleaded with the person before her.
It did not speak; it looked at her sadly. The woman even brushed her hair aside.
"Go home; your family is looking for you." She could only say to her.
Vivianne's tears suddenly fell then, so she was surprised by her sudden crying. She remained silent, watching her with a sad look.
"I—I'm sorry." Vivianne apologized to her again.
Before she left and calmed her emotions about not being able to save it, she gave it a beautiful flower she had found.
Vivianne had no family; she was the one supporting her sister Tashia, and besides, she was about to go back to them because she had finished accepting the money that came from Sharlene.
Her shoulders slumped as she walked, no longer seeing the woman spirit. Vivianne always returned to that place to bring her flowers.
When Vivianne reached her teenage years and started secondary school, she was shocked to discover a mansion under construction. However, they did not touch the part where the soul of the woman she saw was buried.
"Vivianne, Grandma wants to talk to you." That's all she heard from Sharlene. Vivianne just nodded.
She went to a room because she and Felicia would talk in person. Vivianne didn't know why she felt nervous entering, but she steeled herself.
"Grandma, Sis Sharlene said you called for me." That's all she mentioned back then.
Felicia was just looking at her.
"Vivianne." Mention her name.
She was shocked to see the woman's soul again.
"I know you know her; you will be the key to her peace, Vivianne." She could only say this to her.
"Let's not involve the child in this, Felicia; she was still young then. Let's not instill fear in her in this world." That was all she heard as Leah looked at her.
Vivianne felt a sense of relief as she knew she wouldn't have to confront them, a fear she had been harboring. But her grandmother secretly talked to her until she was persuaded to testify. She had already prepared herself back then because it was in motion.
She was already prepared to say when the crime occurred if anyone asked her. However, her grandmother unexpectedly decided not to press charges, so the case didn't proceed.
That's why she went to her grandmother's house; there were two people talking to her.
"Vivianne?"
She just turned around; she was in third-year high school, and she had just started studying in high school.
"Who is she?" asked Sharlene's companion.
"Ah, it's Vivianne." Sharlene said these words to the person she was talking to.
"Do you need anything, Vivianne?" Sharlene asked her.
She just shook her head; she was about to step away when her grandmother called her.
"Vivianne, I see you're here. Come here for a moment." Felicia called her.
She only looked at Sharlene; she didn't want to go in, fearing something might happen to her.
Her grandmother suddenly pulled her; she didn't respond, and she followed her.
Her face immediately greeted them. She swallowed hard.
"Is she the child you were referring to back then?" the woman asked.
Felicia just nodded.
"Grandma, what does this mean? Where is the woman you were going to help in court?" she asked, confused.
"Vivianne, my only request is that you hide the real events." Authoritatively, Felicia said to her.
Vivianne's brow furrowed. She heard the conversation. She stared at the two of them and grabbed her notebook.
"That's why you were paid a large amount, an amount even bigger than what was paid for the woman?" She could only ask.
Vivianne heard her grandmother sigh.
"Vivianne, this is for your own good, so keep this secret. No one else will know but us—just us, do you understand?" Felicia even scrutinized her; her gaze flickered back and forth, especially at the woman who was examining her.
So, she only nodded; if she didn't comply, she and Tashia would starve together.
After leaving, Vivianne abruptly made her way to Leah's burial site. The carpenters were still busy constructing a beautiful house on the site. She was still looking at that grave. The woman she saw was no longer there.
"I'll kill your sister and grandma if you speak, and you'll be even hungrier." Vivianne suddenly heard a whisper in her ear.
She stepped back and immediately looked at a woman.
"So, just keep it quiet." Vivianne saw the woman smirk at her.
Vivianne was startled when a nurse suddenly entered the room for Ashley's checkup. She looked at the sleeping child; she didn't know when she would wake up.
Sister Vivianne. A small voice called out.
Unexpectedly, she found herself facing the young Ashley.
"Ashley," she called out Ashley's name.
The child smiled at her. "Don't worry, you'll get out of there." She promised the child.
Ashley just nodded at Vivianne.
Tita Leah is not bad; she takes care of me here. Ashley even told her.
"Has Leah set you free?" she asked.
She's trying to find a way because I can't visit Mama. This made her sad.
"Why did you visit me today?" she asked.
Sister Vivianne, you have abilities that Mama doesn't, so please tell her not to worry too much.
After saying that, she suddenly disappeared from her sight. Vivianne swallowed hard. She tightly closed her eyes while processing what the child had said to her.
