The group followed them as they increased their speed and changed their direction.
But their enemy had no intention of letting them go that easily.
Only in a couple of minutes did their pursuer catch up to them.

After mastering the human puppet technique, Sasori had used this technique on 15 jounins of the hidden sand to turn them into his human puppets. When the third kazekage found out about this he confronted Sasori alone. Being the grandson of one of the village elders and one of the best puppet masters to ever exist, he wanted to bring back Sasori and bury the news of his treacherous acts 6 feet under the ground. Unfortunately for him he had underestimated the young genius. With the help of his human puppets he managed to kill his teacher, the third kazekage. Altho he didn't escape unscathed, he remained the victor of the battle. After his victory, realizing the limitations of his own flesh, Sasori had turned himself into a human puppet before doing the same with the corpse of the third kazekage. After becoming a missing nin of the hidden sand he has been spending his days, travelling around the land of wind and collecting shinobis to make them his puppets.
That day when Sasori sensed a massive Chakra signature, bigger than that of the third kazekage, through one of his sensory human puppets, he immediately headed in that direction to claim his new puppet and add it to his collection.
When Sasori finally reached in front of the group of hidden leaf shinobi along with his sensory human puppet, he frowned. The big Chakra signature was actually coming from a brat wearing Jonin best.
"Sasori of the Red Sand !"
*Tch* Sasori quickly clicked his tongue. Despite turning himself into a human puppet he had retained his human looks. If the brat in front of him is really a leaf Jonin, then he was not surprised to get discovered. But that means one of his minor surprise factors of being a puppet master has gone to waste.
"Yuji kun, Kisuke, Toji, the border of the land of fire is not far from here. I will hold this guy. Go back as fast as possible and alert any patrolling team you find !" This time, Usagi lowered the intensity of her cheerful attitude to make sure for her team to understand that she was not joking around.
Usagi had confidence that she could take on the puppet master alone. In fact even if it is the canon S ranked Sasori, Usagi wouldn't lose to him. Usagi was simply a bad match up for a puppet master like Sasori. On top of that she would be able to use her sharingan more freely if the others escape. In the Bingo book, Sasori was an A ranked elite Jonin of the hidden sand. So Usagi was quite confident that if she fights alone she might even be able to pull a victory against him.
"But Usagi….."
"Yuji, this is an order from your superior. Leave now. This guy is a master of puppets and poisons. Unless you are a medic nin, you will only be a liability !" Usagi said seriously.
"Yuji kun, let's follow the order." Kisuke, the ever wise man, decided to take the right decision.
"Enough, none of you will be leaving alive !" This time it was Sasori, who shouted. He quickly sealed away his sensory human puppet and took out his new prototype version of Hiruko.
Seeing the new puppet, Usagi didn't hesitate and dashed forward in her full speed. Clapping her hands together, she made a unique hand sign to activate her barriers.
Next, when she clenched her fist, two ethereal circular discs appeared in front of her hand almost covering her entire body. The intricate triangular structures inside the circular Chakra discs, glowed in bright pink colour, showing that her barriers have activated.
Sasori was a little surprised to see an unfamiliar technique. But it only flared his greed to take Usagi's body. Controlling the tale of his new puppet, Sasori released two cylindrical objects. When the cylindrical poison containers came near Usagi, they exploded into a shower of poisonous senbon needles. But none of them could touch Usagi. One of her pink barriers, expanded immediately covering almost her entire body. It easily blocked all of the poison needles. In the next second Usagi flicked her wrist sending the other floating barrier to move forward at an incredible speed. It was extremely fast. And considering that the distance between them was not that great, Sasori could barely react in time.
*Slam* *boom*
The barrier slammed into his puppet and sent it flying while Sasori dodged the attack at the last moment. He didn't escape completely unscathed. His connection with his puppet was also severed in his attempt to jump away.
"What are you guys doing ? I told you to go ! And watch out for the poisonous needles buried in the sand !" This time Usagi shouted more seriously which made the others immediately scramble away.
But before they could get away. Sasori immediately summoned his trump card, the puppet of the third kazekage, intending to kill everyone.
"No one is leaving alive !"
Seeing the new puppet turning towards her retreating team, Usagi became really serious. She immediately used body flicker Jutsu to appear behind her team before activating her massive barrier before Sasori targeted them.
*Bamm* A large spear made from iron sand slammed into the barrier next second, creating a loud sound. But it failed to penetrate the barrier.
"Oh no ! It looks like a puppet based on the third kazekage ! It must be some kind of secret technique ! It is even controlling the iron sand ! Everyone ! This important information must reach the village as soon as possible ! So leave quickly ! This is my order !" Usagi took this chance as an excuse to warn her team and send them away.
Seeing the scene of the floating puppet of the third kazekage in front of them, Kisuke turned serious.
"We are leaving !" With that command, he placed his hands on Yuji and Toji before using a very fast body flicker jutsu to leave the area.
Sasori tried to stop them using two other puppets. But Usagi's floating barrier covered their escape.
And once Usagi became sure that all of them left the area, her worried face disappeared. All of a sudden, Sasori felt like he was shivering from the cold even though he shouldn't be able to feel the temperature in the first place.
"Now that the distractions are gone, let's play a game shall we ?" Usagi's chilling voice made even Sasori step back. For a moment he wanted to retreat. Unfortunately, Usagi had no intention of letting him go. Closing my eyes for a brief moment, Usagi opened them again. Her blue eyes were gone, replaced by a pair of blood red eyes with three tomoes lazily spinning in each eye.

Only 15 minutes have passed since the battle between me and Sasori had started seriously. But in this short time I have realized many things. In terms of battle experience I was no better than a rookie genin. It was only because of my hax that I managed to score an overwhelming victory. No matter what, Sasori simply couldn't penetrate my barriers. If not for my barriers I would have been dead ten times over in the last 15 minutes. I also noticed another weakness. Since I have been only using Sharingan in training, using it continuously in a fight is causing some judgement lapses. Promising to work on these aspects, I stepped forward.
The entire battlefield around me was littered with broken parts of his puppets. His proud Kazekage puppet was broken to multiple pieces lying around the area. Sasori's own puppet body was missing its legs and the right side of his abdomen. His left arm from his shoulder was also missing. Now all I had to do is destroy the puppet core.
I deactivated my Sharingan and activated my multidimensional barrier before stepping forward.
Standing a few metres away, I looked at the hollow look on Sasori's face. I had no grudge against him. But since he had seen one of my secrets that I wanted to protect, I can't let him live.
"Any last words ?" I asked Sasori, preparing to deliver the final blow to his puppet core. But suddenly a familiar shout immediately attracted my attention.
"Usagiiiii ... !"
And that was a fatal mistake. My eyes widened when I saw Yuji running towards me. His face brightened when he saw me.
Suddenly a very bad feeling appeared in my stomach. But before I could react suddenly a chilling voice sent shivers down my spine.
"Yeah, go to hell !" It was Sasori. For a moment the word itself slowed down for me. Somehow Sasori had connected pieces of his broken puppets using a Chakra string which appeared just in front of Yuji.
Before any of us could react, the puppet swung his broken sword.
My eyes widened in horror. In front of my eyes, Yuji's head was separated from his body…..
