Chapter 5 - 5. Azalea

My eyes panned to every male colleagues present at the café. I'm currently on break, usually I stay at the faculty room, but what happened last night kept pestering me!

That voice I heard last night— I can't be mistaken, hearing that deep baritone voice for the fourth time— I can't be wronged! That man was definitely Syl!

He came out of our cafe, could he be one of the recent customers last night? Or those two men that entered before I left?

Aaargh! I don't know anymore! Maybe I'm just becoming delusional because of what Syl said on Tuesday! The chance that us being co-workers had been stuck on my mind!

Tap! Tap!

I looked over at the counter, Elise was jerking her head at the corner of the cafe. I instantly turn my head towards where Elise was pointing. A man who seems to be around our age was staring at our direction— at my direction, rather.

"He's been staring at you for quite awhile now." Elise said with a hint of teasing.

I frowned, rather than making me blush because apparently some guy has been 'staring' at me— it made me uncomfortable.

He was a man of luxury. I can tell much by his demeanor, clothes and the watch on his left hand.

"You should go and get his order." Elise suggested, but I refused. I'm on break, can't she see? "Oh c'mon, our break's paid anyway, go."

Hesitant as I was, I did as I was told, after all, Elise stand as a manager whenever Amor's out, I can't defy the order of the stand-in manager, can I?

I plastered my Service smile as I greeted the somewhat creepy man than has been goggling me. "Hello sir! What can I get you?"

Instead of talking, he pointed his finger into the menu that was present in every table. A daifuku and an Iced latte, is that he trailed his finger on to.

Finding it weird as he didn't talk, I just took his order and went back to the counter to give it to Elise.

"Handsome, isn't he?" Asked she.

I looked back at the man who was now on his phone, his mouth moving, probably talking to someone on the line. "So-so," I shrugged, can't really tell, it was the dim corner of the cafe after all.

A long minute had passed, I served the man the daifuku and his drink.

He ate faster than I've ever seen, I think it just took him one sip to finish the Ice latte and devoured the daifuku in one bite. After that, he went to the cashier and paid, I saw him stole a glance at me and leaned to Elise as he pointed towards me. Soon, he left the café, leaving a mysterious atmosphere.

Elise approached me and handed me a Gumball pin. My breath hitched, immediately running out of the cafe in a hurry.

I turn my head all over the places, but the man's silhouette just disappeared in thin air.

No— how unfair... he now saw me closely, yet I... not fair, I wanted to see you as well.

I clutched the pin on my hand near my chest, heavily sighing before going back into the café.

"So~ how's this blind date going?" Lindsay asked in a sing-song tone.

I shrugged, "Good." I shortly answered.

I'm currently at her apartment having a movie marathon with her. "Good? That's it? Bori~ng!"

It's just a casual blind date, we eat, talk— a repeated cycle. Like my life right now. I eat, go to work, home, eat, and sleep. Then repeat.

Well I guess it's not a repeated cycle anymore since something has distrupted my perfect schedule. The Blind Date.

"You've been so out of it, Lea! What's with the long face, hmm?" She asked.

I still find it unfair how Syl was able to find my workplace, perhaps he narrowed the places down near the bar. But still, he can't just visit me like that— it's unfair! I wanted to see him as well.

"How unfair..." I muttered.

"What is?" Lindsay looked at me confused, stuffing her mouth with the salted popcorn. I didn't say anything and just glued my eye on the TV screen.

No matter how I looked at it, isn't unfair?! I haven't even got a peak at his face, he was wearing a god-damned hat for pete's sake! Ugh!

He could've at least introduced himself...

...I wonder if he'll come tomorrow?
