Ellis ignored him and instead turned to face the students and calmly summarized, "In short, you have seen the ways of demons. They are good at manipulating people's minds, they specialize in mischief, and they like to take pleasure in toying with others.Today's lesson ends here."
The students immediately lowered their heads to record their notes, while Nyx looked at Ellis with a smirk and said with interest, "Your definition of demons is too stereotypical."
Ellis gave him a cold look, "Your behavior just now is the best proof."
Nyx: "..."
This guy, he's really not easy to fool.
After class, Nyx leisurely followed Ellis out of the classroom, his face full of the pleasant expression of getting away with his prank.
The students of the academy, on the other hand, avoided his gaze, clearly in awe of this demon from the abyss.Especially that magic apprentice who had just been turned into a rat, his eyes were complicated with both shock and a hint of aggression and resentment.
Nyx sensed his line of sight, and the corner of his mouth rose slightly, revealing a meaningful smile as he whispered, "Don't stare at me like that, human. You're the first human student I've ever cast a mischievous spell on and still managed to survive."
The magic apprentice blushed suddenly and took a quiet step back.
Ellis ignored these tidbits and just walked quickly, like he wanted to get rid of Nyx as soon as possible.Unfortunately, Nyx clearly had no intention of letting him have his way.He walked slowly beside Ellis, wiggling his fingers and sighing in boredom, "You're always this cold, Ellis."
Ellis responded tersely, "You're always this shapeless."
"It's not shapeless."Nyx smirked and leaned closer, his voice low and husky with a touch of seduction unique to demons, "I'm just being true to my nature."
Ellis stopped and gave him a sideways glance, his demeanor still calm and unruffled, "Your nature is to turn the classroom into your private stage?"
"I'm just making your lessons more vividly visual."Nyx raised an eyebrow, his tone light, "Don't you think the students have been learning especially hard today? They'll definitely remember this lesson."
Ellis was silent for a split second, his gaze sinking slightly as if weighing something, and finally only said coldly, "Don't go too far next time."
"Don't worry, I have my measure."Nyx casually waved his hand, with an air of unconcern.
After returning to his mentor's dormitory, Nyx comfortably lounged towards the sofa, casually picking up a book and flipping through it, realizing that it was a study on contract magic, he instantly frowned and threw the book back on the table.
"Can't you read something interesting?"He grumbled, "These books are so boring they make me wonder if you're a living, breathing human being."
Ellis ignored him and walked straight into the kitchenette to start preparing lunch.
Nyx reclined on the couch, flipping through the other books in boredom, and eventually couldn't help but speak up, "I'm not eating, what are you doing?"
Ellis didn't turn around, his hands moving fluidly as he handled the ingredients, his tone calm, "You'll eat."
Nyx snorted and said absently, "Don't waste your time, I'm not interested in human food."
Ellis didn't respond, still concentrating on his cooking. He was skillful and orderly in his movements, and soon a unique aroma filled the air.
Nyx had been idly playing with his nails, but when the scent wafted in, his movements gave a slight lurch, his ears flicked, and he squinted his eyes, sniffing the air thoughtfully.
Strange, the smell seemed to carry some sort of scent that was familiar to him.
He frowned, propping his chin up and staring at Ellis' back, "What are you doing?"
"Lunch."Ellis' tone was flat, like he hadn't noticed the change in Nyx at all.
Nyx stared at him for a moment, then suddenly sat up, sniffing the scent with complicated eyes.
Soon, Ellis walked out with a plate of food and placed it on the table, his tone bland, "Try it."
Nyx looked at the dish, his brows furrowing slightly.
He could feel a strong emotional fluctuation permeating the food, not just any ordinary emotion, but - with some kind of subtle reluctance and stubbornness.
