Once the Sacred Eclipse (powerful artifact) brought peace to the fractured world, a beacon of balance. But the war of the fracture shattered it , scattering it's shards across the lands, and leaving the world in ruin. Faction arose, driven by power, greed and the promise of rebirth. Now only chaos remains...
Massive, jagged mountains rise from the earth, remnants of ancient civilization. Amid the ruins lies a shard of the Sacred Eclipse, glowing faintly. At the center of the fragment a pulse of energy surges from the shard, sending ripples through the air. A strange ominous presence seems to surround it. There is a small village nestled in the corner of the broken world. The village is in a forest, surrounded by natural, almost untouched beauty. Children play in the streets while older villagers repair homes. At the edge of the village, a lone figure stands overlooking the horizon. This figure happens to be Kai, and orphan in his late teens, wearing a tattered cloak. Kai gazes at the distant horizon where storm clouds are gathering. His expression is contemplative but tense, Kai: "it's coming again... Another storm. But this time something feels different." Suddenly, a loud explosion shakes the ground, followed by the sound of cracking stone. The sky darkens as a massive figure emerges from the distance, an enormous, monstrous creature with Aether (the life force energy that flows through every living being. It can be manipulated into several types of forms based on the user's skill and understanding) based armour, it's form shifting as it absorbs Aether from the environment. This is a fracture beast born from the chaos of the world. Kai: "Get inside! Everyone, take cover!" The villagers scramble to safety, but some are too slow. Kai's eyes flash with panic and determination. He reaches the village square, where a group of children is trapped. Kai leaps forward, using his Aether enhancement to propel himself with immense speed, scooping up the children and carrying them out of the creatures reach. The fracture beast roars, swinging it's massive, Aether-infused claws toward the group. In an instant, Kai feels a surge of power within him. His hand glows with unstable blue energy. Kai grits his teeth. Kai: "I'm not letting you hurt anyone you dirty piece of crap!" Kai slams his fist the ground, releasing a powerful wave of Aether that distorts the environment and momentarily stops the creature's attack. The ground shakes as a barrier of Aether forms around the children. Kai struggles to keep the barrier up, his form trembling as the Aether begins to burn through him. Kai's body starts to strain. " This... This is too much! Crap!" The fracture beast charged toward the barrier but just as it's about to strike, another figure steps into view. A tall, armoured woman wielding a large sword. This is Rhea, a member of the Solstice Guild. (This guild was one of many factions trying to collect the Eclipse shards) Rhea: "Step aside kid. This is my fight." She draws her sword and it glows with Aether as she slashes through the air, creating a massive shockwave that sends the fracture beast flying backwards. Kai, exhausted and nearly collapsed watches in awe. Rhea turned to Kai, her expression cold but not unkind.
Rhea: " Wow you're useless ."
Kai:" I could've killed it if it weren't for you!" Rhea:" you think you can control that type of power?"
She taps the sword gently against the ground which releases a pulse of Aether the energy crackles and ripples, showing how much control she has over her abilities.
Rhea:" Aether isn't something you simply force into existence.You must understand it, guide it. It's part of you, and at the moment you try to dominate it without any respect. It WILL consume you."
Kai scoffs and says "who do you think you are my mom, some sort of teacher, huh?!" Rhea steps closer, her eyes narrowing as she sizes him up. Rhea:" you want to fight? Then come with me. There are others who think like you." Kai looks at her for a moment, his gaze filled with defiance and uncertainty. Kai:" only because I've got nothing better to do." Rhea looks towards the horizon, where dark storm clouds swirl above the remnants of the Sacred Eclipse. " The true battle begins now" Rhea quietly say to herself before their departure.
