"It's time to move on," he said to himself. "But first..." He looked deeply and said loudly, calmly, but confidently: "Open the shop." It turns out that the world held its breath for a moment.

Nyx slowly scanned the menu that appeared before him, as if it had been etched into the atmosphere, protected by lines of light. He frowned as he glanced at the list. "Skills, consumables, equipment… All for silver. Well, now I understand why the system showers me with coins." He grinned wryly.

He stopped at the Skills section, narrowing his eyes. "Mana Burst… a temporary formation, good, but situational. Evasion… sounds useful. And Concentration…" He altered himself slightly. "This will probably make me hit more often. with a special bow."

He scrolled slowly further, glancing briefly at the potions. "Temporary buffs. I wonder how long I can last in a fight if I drink both at once?" The corner of his lip twitched in a half-smile. But his gaze lingered on the Cloak of Evasion: "5% is a chance to survive where you shouldn't. And I'll move more quietly." He barely noticed, remembering the price. "22 silver. A lot, but worth it."

Finally, he moved to the Exchange and Upgrade option, weighing it up in his mind. "Shaman's Staff – 15 silver. Hmm. Not bad, but I don't need it. Dagger… If I had another one, I could upgrade it. Bow… only one. I'll have to collect more."

He thought for a moment, then said, "The system is well thought out. It's a long game. Choice matters." He smirked. "I wonder how much I managed to squeeze out without making a mistake?"

He put his hands behind his back and, staring into space in front of him, said, "What's the exchange rate?"

The system seemed to respond to his words, and a menu appeared next to the shop.

[ SYSTEM: Currency Information Update ]

Current exchange rate:

100 Copper = 1 Silver

100 Silver = 1 Gold

100 Gold = 1 Diamond

Use coins to purchase items in the system shop, upgrade equipment, and exchange trophies. The rate is fixed and cannot be changed.

Nix muttered as he glanced at the interface. "So the rate is like this..." He squinted, weighing it. "So to get even one gold coin, I need a hundred silver coins... And to get diamonds, I need thousands. Tough economics, but logical. I'll have to collect every coin I can."

[The shop will be updating for 2 weeks. Next update in: 13 days 18 hours.] "So I should save some silver for the next update..." he muttered, making a mental note. — Or, on the contrary, spend it all while I can grab something rare.

[ Inventory — Currency ]

Silver Coins: 8

Copper Coins: 61

Gold Coins:

0 Diamond Coins: 0

He calculated in his head, — Sixty-one copper coins... 39 more are missing to exchange for the ninth silver coin. Well, the journey has just begun.

He smirked slightly, closing the interface. Let's see what else I managed to get from this dungeon.

Nyx knelt down by the Goblin Shaman's body, carefully turning it over with his staff. Unlike normal goblins, this one was dressed in a patchwork cloak with primitive symbols, and a necklace of fangs and bones hung around his neck. "Let's see what you're hiding..." he muttered, leaning towards the body.

[ Looted Goblin Shaman's Body... ]

[ Found: Shaman's Staff (Rare) ] Type: Magic Weapon Attack: +5 (Magic) Modifiers: • +15% damage from

• Reduces the cost of Dark Fire spells by 10%

• [Active]: "Pulsating Blast" - Creates a wave of darkness that blinds enemies within 5 meters (cooldown: 3 minutes)

Nix looked at the staff with respect. "This is an unusual item. It's too bulky for me now, but if I develop magic..." He carefully placed the staff in his inventory. Even if he didn't use it, it could be useful for trading or upgrading through the System.

You found: Lesser Magic Scroll (Fire Spark)A one-time spell. The arrow shoots a fireball at the enemy. Damage: low. Can set dry materials on fire.

"Fire Spark," huh?" he muttered, studying the runes. "Small, but it could come in handy. Especially if I need to keep someone at a distance.

You found: 12 silver coins

He then turned his gaze to the coins. "Another 12 silver... Now I only have 20. Slowly accumulating. Still a long way from gold, though.

You found: Shaman's Belt (Uncommon)Adds +5 to max mana. Wearable.

"Hmm... +5 mana..." He unfolded the cloth, examining it carefully.

The wolf snorted and gently nudged the pouch hidden under the goblin's body. Inside was... "What do you have, buddy?"

You found: Herbal Elixir (Mana Restore). Restores 30 MP when used.

"Herbal Elixir... mana. Good." He looked at the wolf and patted its side. "Good boy. Wouldn't have found this without you.

" "If the dungeon keeps paying like this, I'll get rich. Or burn in the process.

" Nyx walked over to the body of the nearest goblin warrior, carefully turning it over with his foot.

[ Looting a Goblin Warrior's Body... ]

You Found: Rough Iron Dagger (Common)

You Found: 3 Copper Coins

You Found: Fang of an Unknown Beast (Trophy)

"Hm. Nothing special..." He put the dagger in his inventory. "But if I find another one, I can improve mine."

The next goblin lay face down, still clutching the broken axe in his hand.

[ Looting a Goblin Warrior's Body... ]

You Found: Goblin Battle Axe (Common)

You Found: 2 Silver Coins

You Found: Dirty Talisman (Unknown Effect)

Nyx frowned as he looked at the talisman. "You definitely didn't make it yourself..." He put it away, deciding to study it later.

The third warrior was poorer:

[ Looting a goblin warrior's body... ]

You found: Torn leather belt

You found: 12 copper coins

- Even in the goblin world, not everyone is equal.

He went to a goblin archer, whom he killed with a point-blank shot.

[ Looting a goblin archer's body... ]

You found: Old shortbow (common)

You found: Quiver of arrows (x8)

You found: 1 silver coin, 17 copper coins

You found: Primitive Amulet of Accuracy (+1 to accuracy when shooting with a bow)

"Oh, that's better." He twirled the amulet in his hand. "Maybe I'll need it… or maybe I'll change it. Either way, a bow isn't my best ally right now."

He dusted his hands off, standing up. "Okay, a few silvers, some iron, and some crappy amulets. Not much, but better than nothing. "

The interface flickered softly in his peripheral vision, reminding him: [ Total loot from the raid: 4 silver, 32 copper. Inventory updated. ]

Nix chuckled and looked ahead, where the tunnel led off into the darkness. "We'll see what happens next. But if there are any traps, I'll be throwing coins at the ceiling first."

His voice was unexpected in the silence, as if even the dungeon was listening.

The tunnel glowed faintly with light, and his footsteps echoed hollowly off of him, as if the walls themselves heard the sound. Nix walked carefully, keeping his hand close to his weapon. His gaze wandered over the blurry outlines, but his attention was elsewhere—on his senses. Lately he had begun to pay more attention to himself—to his breathing, to the rustling around him. Magazine, coins, skills—none of that meant anything if you let your guard down and found yourself with a knife in your side.

The shadow of the wolf called to Mel next to him, his eyes glittering in the darkness, his body tense with anticipation. The wolf growled softly, warningly, a deep guttural sound as if warding off any danger. Nix was wary, feeling his heart beat faster. This was not just a friend; this was his partner, subtle, ready to act.

"Quiet," Nix whispered, barely audible, but his voice full of confidence. The wolf calmed down, but kept a watcher on the tunnel, ready to move at any moment.

He turned the corner when suddenly...

CRASH .

Too fast. Too clear.

He froze. His gaze darted to the source of the sound. There, in the gloom, behind the ledge, a shadow flickered.

"... A rat?" Nix stepped closer.

"No. Not a rat." He quickly drew his dagger.

But it was too late.

SWIZZ!

A thin, almost inaudible hiss, like a taut wire.

Somewhere in the deep tunnel there was a sharp crack and a dull ringing, as if someone had pulled a bell made of bones and scrap metal.

Signal.

[ SYSTEM: You have spotted a goblin spy. Reinforced patrols have been activated. ]

"Damn." Nix lunged forward, but saw only the tip of a thin tail disappearing around the corner. The goblin was small, fast, and very cowardly.

"A spy..." Nix hissed through clenched teeth. — So this isn't just a lair, this is a real defense system.

The interface started to flash something new: [WARNING: Increased security on the next floor. Some enemies will be lying under the fortifications. Ambush is possible.]

"Of course, damn it. And here I thought this would be easy," he muttered, running a hand over his forehead, feeling the cold sweat on his skin. "Okay, enough thinking. Time to test my finds for what they're worth, and see what I can get out of this dungeon."

He noticed, closing his eyes for a moment, feeling the calm returning to his mind. Nix checked his inventory, his gaze briefly lingering on the items he'd found. "Might as well use it now. Before it's too late."
