Chapter 41: Halloween, Is This Forcing the Plot?

"Meow!"

Coal Ball was surprised.

Its black eyes stared blankly at the passing pink starlight.

Dylan was surprised too.

"Looks like this money was well spent!"

Dylan waved his wand again.

"Lumos!"

"Swish~"

Blinding pink light dispelled the obscurity in the room, and the starlight particles glowed with a beautiful sheen, intertwined and bumped into one another, each touch bursting with pink starlight.

"Meow!!"

Coal Ball rushed over, dashing towards the pink starlight.

But it did not work.

"Meow?"

Dylan had an instant new thrill.

He waved his wand again.

"Whoosh!"

Pink starlight appeared.

Coal Ball pounced again.

"Hey! Fun!"

He had not expected that getting the wand lovely would also turn a cat teaser lovely!

Dylan teased Coal Ball almost the entire afternoon.

Only when dirty footprints and voices outside the door indicated that many little wizards had returned to the dormitory did Dylan stop.

"Phew!"

Dylan exhaled a cloud of dirty air, looked at the fairly exhausted-looking Coal Ball, and smiled with affection.

He moved closer and caressed the tip of Coal Ball's nose softly, and Coal Ball opened its eyes ecstatically, going "hoo Meow hoo Meow" in the back of its throat, and gently butted its head on Dylan's palm.

Dylan laughed at its sweet expression and burst out laughing.

Although he had practiced for such a long time today, Dylan didn't feel that it was a waste of time.

Rather than that, after reviewing his mindset again, Dylan was pleasantly surprised to find that the pressure accumulated in his heart had disappeared, and his heart was filled with joy, which made his fatigued body much lighter.

"Even if eating dinner every time can relieve pressure to some extent, I am not allowed to overeat."

Playing with Coal Ball the entire afternoon, it actually made the pressure accumulated dissipate completely.

This is what Martina left on Dylan's paper: "Don't do anything today, just have a good sleep, get enough energy, and fight on tomorrow!"

Dylan went out for lunch first, then returned to the dormitory and slept.

By the time the night arrived that Harry and Ron got back, they saw the sleeping Dylan.

The two shared glances, slightly surprised, but also subconsciously slowed to move.

.

"Hmm, the smell of roasted pumpkin?"

Another early morning.

Dylan, having finished washing up from dinner, took a very pungent smell when walking out of the door.

"Halloween."

Dylan did not care much about festivals, but pumpkin smell reminded him that today was Halloween.

"I remember, it seems that a troll came out of somewhere during the Halloween dinner, right?"

Dylan headed to the owlery, with his little schoolbag, in thought.

"No, it seems that troll was let out by Quirrell?"

Dylan's memory was a bit foggy. He had a vague recollection that Harry and the rest intruded upon the girls' bathroom and ran into the troll.

What most left him amazed at the time was that they effortlessly defeated the troll using the Levitation Charm that they had just learned.

"Trolls are rare. Aside from the fact that their population is small, the key point is that their teeth make potions more powerful."

"Had their livers been able to concoct medicines to cure serious diseases or curses."

"Their mucus, too, possesses unique magical properties and is very versatile to medicine."

Dylan visited the owlery, fed some food to Luna, and stuffed the letter he intended to send to his parents into it.

And then he visited the Great Hall to have breakfast.

"Well, it cannot be killed by the three-headed dog, but this thing is always killable by me, okay?"

The three-headed dog was obviously placed by Hogwarts in the restricted space.

He was unable to go to harass the three-headed dog.

But this troll. Dylan happened to start learning a new potion by accident. If he could obtain the ingredients from this troll, he wouldn't need to take the effort to find them.

A whole day at class passed.

Students at Hogwarts rushed to the Great Hall to enjoy the Halloween dinner.

Dylan walked among the crowd too.

When he approached Harry and Ron.

He noticed Ron's face was not well.

"Huh?"

Dylan blinked and then whispered to Harry, "Is Ron ill?"

Harry eyed the worried Ron and pursed his lips.

"In today's Charms class, you people did great, right? You used the Levitation Charm fine."

"So?"

Dylan said, tilting his head.

"So." Harry hesitated and eyed Ron once more.

"After Professor Flitwick had summoned Hermione up to attempt the Levitation Charm again, he softly muttered something nasty about Hermione because she did not do as well as you."

"Because of this."

As soon as Dylan heard that, he somehow figured out the idea of what happened.

He was basically the focus of the attention of the professors in class. Throughout the class, the professors would almost always choose to speak to him whenever they got the chance to speak to students.

So he didn't pay much attention to Harry's situation.

But after listening to what Harry said to him, Dylan said helplessly, "As a result, he was caught by Hermione again the moment he said something bad?"

Harry nodded seriously.

"(-ι_-`)."

Dylan actually didn't know why Ron liked to speak ill of others behind their backs.

The thing is, if you're going to say it, you're going to say it in secret. Every time, you can get caught red-handed by the concerned person.

It's actually nobody else.

"Actually, Ron hasn't insulted Hermione for ages. It's just this once. Hermione feels that Ron doesn't behave with her like a friend at all."

Harry widened his eyes: "And she also believes Ron should have insulted her terribly behind her back."

". "

Dylan closed his lips.

He said nothing for a very long time.

"Then what? What now?"

"Hermione was crying already during the second half of class, and she wasn't around during the afternoon."

"Uh."

Did the story just start?

Dylan first thought of sneaking into the toilet, solve the troll in secret, quietly decay the stuff, and silently do all those things.

He did not think that Ron could be so accidental that he would annoy Hermione and go to the toilet?

"Who know girls are so troublesome! I said, I was just kidding! And she just didn't perform as well as Dylan, huh?" Ron answered stubbornly.

"But you called her pretentious as well." Harry put in.

"Am I wrong?" Ron scowled.

"Even if I didn't exactly rehearse the spell today, she doesn't have to keep practicing me, does she?"

"So this is why."
