Chapter 19 - Chapter 19

Chapter 19:

"Haha, let him go?"

Uchiha Setsuna's eyes gleamed with mockery and bloodthirsty pleasure as he sneered:

"If that brat had just minded his own business, I would've let it slide."

"But he dared to use the Third Hokage to trick me!"

"You get to live today, but that brat must die!"

Just earlier, when he was fooled by the fake Third Hokage, Uchiha Setsuna had fled like a stray dog. Realizing the deception, his pride was utterly shattered. That humiliation burned deeper than anything.

At this point, Asakawa Naoki had become even more important than Uchiha Mikoto in Setsuna's eyes.

Even if Mikoto escaped, there was no way he'd let that boy—who dared to toy with him—get away.

"Be thankful, brat," Setsuna said coldly.

"If I weren't in a rush, I'd make your death much slower."

"If you want to kill him, you'll have to kill me first."

Uchiha Mikoto stood firmly in front of Asakawa Naoki, refusing to back down. She looked over her shoulder at him, a hint of guilt in her eyes.

If it weren't for her, this boy might've had a much brighter future.

"Die!"

Just as Uchiha Setsuna prepared to strike, a figure appeared behind him out of nowhere.

"You've got some nerve causing trouble in the middle of Konoha."

Sarutobi Hiruzen's voice rang out behind him—but Setsuna wouldn't be tricked again.

"Hah, kid, you've got some skill with clone and transformation jutsu," Setsuna scoffed.

"I almost couldn't tell the difference."

"But I was fooled once. You think I'd fall for it again?"

He turned, and sure enough—it was that same Sarutobi Hiruzen again.

Last time, he panicked and didn't stop to think. But now? It was clear something was off.

The biggest giveaway? This Hokage didn't attack him on sight.

"Die!"

Setsuna didn't even bother drawing his sword—he whipped his chain forward, aiming to shatter the clone before him.

Why waste ninjutsu on some brat who hadn't even graduated from the academy?

As Setsuna attacked, Asakawa Naoki grabbed Mikoto and dashed in the opposite direction, trying to widen the gap between them and Setsuna.

"Think you can run?"

Setsuna sneered to himself. He just wanted to destroy this clone and get his revenge. The clones taught at the academy were just illusions—breakable with the slightest touch. It wouldn't even take a second.

He could deal with two academy brats in a few breaths.

But something felt… wrong.

His chain didn't pass through thin air—it struck something solid.

"A solid clone? Or… the real Third Hokage?!"

The thought shocked Setsuna, but he dismissed it quickly.

If that were really Hiruzen Sarutobi, there's no way his chain would've connected.

Realizing how startled he'd been, his rage toward Asakawa Naoki deepened.

Most transformation jutsu changed the user into objects. But this brat chose the current Hokage? What a nerve.

The sudden appearance of Sarutobi Hiruzen, combined with his fearsome reputation, was a perfect bluff.

If Setsuna weren't in the middle of something so shady, he would've reported Naoki for impersonating the Hokage.

But now, all he wanted was to tear apart the clone—and the lingering humiliation that came with it.

"Break!"

Setsuna yanked the chain, pulling the clone toward him, then lunged forward, aiming a strike at the chest.

"No matter what kind of clone this is—just die!"

His hand pierced through the clone's body.

But instead of vanishing, the clone smiled—and wrapped its arms around Setsuna. A powerful force exploded from within.

"Shit! Detonating talisman!"

Realizing the danger, Setsuna unleashed all his chakra to push the clone away—but it didn't budge.

"What kind of clone is this?!"

He was stunned. How could a clone be this tough?

Then—boom.

The five-in-one immortal soldier, crafted from immortal beans, self-destructed. It lit up like a firework on the ground.

Thankfully, Naoki and Mikoto had already created distance and avoided the explosion.

"Was that part of his plan too…?"

Mikoto, still being pulled along, glanced at Naoki with a hint of admiration. Though younger than her, he already felt like a natural shinobi.

"Are we safe now?" she asked, not daring to slow down.

"No," Naoki replied, brows furrowed.

As the smoke cleared, a figure stumbled out.

Uchiha Setsuna had survived—but barely.

His black clothes were in tatters, his skin bloodied, his hair scorched and gray with ash.

But worst of all—his right hand was gone.

At the last moment, Setsuna had chosen life over limb and severed his own arm to escape the center of the explosion.

"What a shame," Naoki muttered. "If that had been an upgraded immortal soldier from the mid-stage, it might've finished him."

Many legendary shinobi didn't fall to fancy jutsu—but to a single kunai or exploding tag.

This explosion was even stronger than a standard tag. Had Setsuna been any slower, he would've died on the spot.

If only Naoki had a more refined version of the technique, the explosion might've been enough to finish him entirely.

But now?

Now came the worst part—revenge.

"Hahaha! I never thought a brat like you could push me this far!"

Setsuna laughed maniacally. His career was over—he couldn't perform seals with just one hand.

He was finished.

And the cause of it all stood right before him.

"You both… must die!"

He no longer cared about his mission. He no longer cared about capturing Mikoto alive. He just wanted them dead.

Channeling chakra into his legs, he vanished—and appeared right in front of them in a flash.

Even with one hand, he was still far above two academy students.

Had he not been careless, that detonating trap never would've worked.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique!"

He formed the seals with one hand, and unleashed a massive fireball, several meters wide.

Finally, he was using his true strength.

"No!"

Mikoto's composure shattered.

At first, she hadn't resisted being captured. A part of her even believed that surrendering might lead to a better future—an escape from her predetermined fate.

But after Naoki saved her, she tasted something she hadn't felt in a long time—hope.

And now, as Setsuna's giant fireball surged toward them—her will to live erupted.

"I want to live with him!"

A cold force surged into her eyes.

Her dark pupils turned crimson.

In each eye, two black tomoe began to spin.

The double tomoe Sharingan—had awakened.
