Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Prince of Starfall

The soft clatter of a toy sword against a wooden shield filled my room as I sprawled on the plush carpet, lost in my little game. I was ten years old now—or at least my body was—and life couldn't get any better. That is, until the door creaked open, and a figure stepped in.

"Your Highness," came a gentle voice, "it's time for dinner. Everyone's waiting for you."

I glanced up to see a male maid—yes, a male maid—standing there, his frilly black-and-white uniform looking utterly ridiculous on his broad frame. I sighed, setting my toy aside. "Okay, I'm coming."

As he led me down the polished marble halls of the palace, I couldn't help but smirk to myself. The angel had done her job perfectly. I was Asher Starfall, prince of the Kingdom of Starfall, reborn into a world where magic danced in the air and monsters lurked beyond the borders. But the real kicker? Women ruled everything. They were the providers, the leaders, the warriors—while men handled the domestic stuff, like cooking and cleaning. And me? As a noble and a prince, I didn't even have to lift a finger. Still, I shot a side-eye at the maid's swaying skirt. Man, it's weird seeing a guy in that getup.

We reached the grand dining hall, its crystal chandeliers casting a warm glow over the long table. A feminine-looking man with delicate features and flowing silver hair rose from his seat, beaming at me. "Asher, you look absolutely beautiful tonight. I'd wager any princess would fall head over heels for you."

I grinned, puffing out my chest a little. "Thanks, Dad! I am pretty handsome, huh?" In this world, roles were flipped—only queens could rule, while kings like my dad, Lucas Starfall, sat beside them as elegant consorts. He was considered an exquisite beauty here, a title that might've raised eyebrows in my old world. But who cared? It worked for me.

My gaze drifted across the table, landing on two women who radiated power in very different ways. First was my mother, Luna Starfall, the queen. She sat at the head, her piercing eyes and sharp jawline framed by a cascade of midnight-black hair. A grand swordswoman—one of the rare few in the world to reach that legendary rank—she'd won countless wars and could cut through steel like it was butter. Cold, dominating, and undeniably badass, she was the kind of woman I'd dreamed of back in my old life.

Next to her was my elder sister, Ava Starfall, the crown princess. She had the same dark hair but softer features, though her presence was no less commanding. She was crazy about me—obsessively so—and her doting nature made her both lovely and a little overwhelming.

As I slid into the seat beside Ava, she pounced, wrapping her arms around me in a tight squeeze. "Asher! You're so cute, you little doll! I'll always protect you, you know that, right?" Her hug was suffocating, but I just giggled, squirming in her grip.

"Leave him alone, Ava," Queen Luna said, her voice firm but laced with amusement. "Let the boy eat."

Ava pouted but released me, and the table erupted in light laughter. I dug into my meal—some fancy roasted meat with a side of glistening fruit—savoring the smooth, pampered life I'd landed in. Here, I wasn't allowed to fight. Honestly, it was impossible anyway. Men in this world had zero magic power, zero aura, and no access to the mysterious status windows that women wielded like second nature. Even if a man trained his whole life and somehow beat a monster, only his speed would improve—strength and defense were locked forever. A normal guy might've hated that, but me? This was paradise.

Hours later, I lay sprawled across my massive bed, the moonlight filtering through the curtains. My life here was a dream—no battles, no chores, just endless doting from my sister and the quiet luxury of being a prince. As the night deepened, I drifted into a peaceful sleep.

A soft knock jolted me awake. The door creaked open, and the same male maid peeked in. "Prince Asher, the crown princess has summoned you."

I rubbed my eyes, yawning. "Okay, let me take a bath first—"

"No, Your Highness," he interrupted, bowing slightly. "She insists you come at once."

Groaning, I dragged myself out of bed and followed him downstairs. The cool morning air hit me as we stepped onto the training grounds, a wide courtyard framed by blooming cherry trees. Before I could blink, Ava barreled toward me, scooping me into another bone-crushing hug.

"My dearest little brother!" she squealed, spinning me around. "Come watch your big sister! I want to show you how good I've gotten with my swordsmanship!"

She set me down, and I clapped my hands, flashing her my best angelic smile. "Okay, sis! Let's see it!"

Ava grinned, drawing her blade with a flourish. She flowed through a series of stances—sharp, precise, deadly. At her rank, Sword Expert, she was two levels below Mom's Grand Swordswoman title, but she was still incredible. I nodded approvingly. "You're amazing, Ava!"

She squealed again, pulling me into yet another hug. "Oh, I love you, my little cutie brother!" I laughed, letting her squeeze me as the morning sun climbed higher.

"Crown Princess, Prince," a voice interrupted—a stern woman in a crisp butler's uniform. "Breakfast is prepared. The family's waiting."

Ava sighed dramatically but let me go, and we headed back inside. The breakfast table was a spread of pastries, eggs, and spiced tea, and as we settled in, Queen Luna cleared her throat.

"I'll be leaving tonight," she announced, her tone commanding attention. "I have business in the neighboring kingdom. Ava, as crown princess, you'll oversee Starfall in my absence."

Ava straightened, her expression serious. "Yes, Mom. I'll handle it."

The queen nodded, and breakfast continued with light chatter. But as I nibbled on a sweet roll, something odd caught my ear—a faint whisper from one of the maids to the woman butler. I couldn't make out the words, but the butler's face tightened, her eyes darting toward me for a split second before she masked it with a polite smile. I don't know why but I think something bad is going to happen
