Chapter 7 - The Spark of Hope

Chapter 7

Three years had passed since the last incident. Those years had been filled with isolation as Leon decided to stay away from his family, avoiding everyone in the mansion. He no longer wanted to endure any more humiliation and instead devoted his time to training in secret.

Near the forest that surrounded the mansion, Leon gave his all in grueling training. He challenged his frail body, pushing himself to endure despite the pain and exhaustion. Whenever he felt tired, he remembered the contemptuous looks he faced every day, which only fueled his determination to improve himself.

Leon wasn't just training to gain strength; he wanted something greater: to be seen as a human being. To earn respect, even if just once.

Turning Twelve

When Leon turned twelve, a family tradition awaited him. Every family member, upon reaching this age, was entitled to a personal trainer, carefully selected to guide them toward their unique skills.

Although Leon had never received any celebration for his birthday, he was happy about this tradition. Finally, he would get something similar to what his siblings received. This was the first sense of hope he had felt in years.

Meeting the Trainers

On that important day, the family gathered in the vast courtyard of the mansion. The atmosphere was filled with pride, especially with the arrival of the prestigious trainers.

His older brother, Griffin, had a famous fighter as his trainer from the capital, and his reputation preceded him.

His other brother, Elliot, had an experienced knight as his trainer, a man with vast combat knowledge.

Even his younger siblings, who were receiving younger trainers, seemed special.

But when it was Leon's turn, his trainer finally entered the arena.

The Unexpected Trainer

The man appeared very ordinary. Average height, in his forties, wearing tattered, simple clothes. It was clear that his right hand was missing, and his eyes carried a mysterious sadness.

Whispers started spreading among the family members:

"Is this really a trainer?"

"I can't believe they gave this person to Leon. He can barely train himself!"

Despite all this, Leon was smiling. He didn't care about the appearance of his trainer or what others said. To him, this was the first thing he had received that resembled what his siblings got.

When the man approached him, he bowed slightly and said, "My name is Allen, and I'll be your trainer. I may not seem like much, but I'll do my best."

Leon smiled and replied softly, "Thank you... at least, you're here."

A New Beginning

Although the start wasn't what Leon had imagined, he felt something different. Allen, despite his condition, carried an enigmatic aura. His single eye held a look of experience and knowledge that Leon couldn't quite explain.
