The aftermath of the battle trial still weighed on the class.
Reiji's overwhelming display of power had left an undeniable mark on his classmates. He had fought like a villain, overwhelmed Deku, and barely taken any damage.
For some, it was impressive.
For others, it was terrifying.
As the students sat at their desks, whispers floated around the classroom.
"That guy is something else…" Kaminari muttered under his breath.
"He barely looked tired," Kirishima added, his expression serious. "Like he was just… playing around."
Even Todoroki, who rarely showed emotion, cast a side glance at Reiji, studying him with quiet curiosity.
Meanwhile, Reiji sat at his desk, leaning back with his usual calm smirk, acting as if nothing had happened.
He could feel the weight of their stares, their uncertainty, their confusion.
It amused him.
The fear in their eyes was proof that he was above them.
But one person wasn't staring in fear.
Bakugo sat a few seats away, teeth clenched, fists trembling.
His entire life, he had been the strongest. The most powerful. The one everyone looked up to—or feared.
But now?
Reiji had fought Deku and barely even tried. And that infuriated him.
I should've been the one to crush that damn nerd. Not him.
His blood boiled. He wouldn't let it stay like this.
Aizawa entered the classroom, his tired gaze sweeping over the students.
"Since you all survived your first battle training, we're moving on."
The room went silent.
Aizawa tapped on his tablet. "Our next exercise will be a Rescue Training Simulation."
The class perked up.
"Rescue training?" Uraraka asked, curious.
Aizawa nodded. "We'll be taking a trip off-campus to the U.S.J. facility—an area designed to simulate disaster scenarios where heroes must perform rescues under extreme conditions."
The students murmured in excitement.
But Reiji's golden eyes narrowed slightly.
[U.S.J…]
A faint memory surfaced from his past life's knowledge of BNHA.
That was when the League of Villains attacked.
His smirk returned. Finally. Something interesting.
After class, as the students packed their bags, Bakugo stood up abruptly, marching toward Reiji's desk.
The room fell silent as he slammed a hand on the desk.
"You," he growled.
Reiji tilted his head, amused. "Me?"
Bakugo's crimson eyes burned with rage. "Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about."
Reiji smirked. "Oh, I know. You're just mad that I'm stronger than you."
The air grew tense.
Bakugo's fists crackled with explosions. "Tch. You're just some smug bastard with a flashy Quirk. You're nothing."
Reiji's smirk didn't fade.
Instead, he simply stood up slowly, his height slightly towering over Bakugo.
The room felt colder despite the heat of Bakugo's explosions.
Reiji leaned in slightly.
"You talk too much."
For the first time, Bakugo hesitated.
It was only a second. A fraction of a moment. But he felt it.
Something about Reiji wasn't normal.
His aura was predatory, his presence like a beast staring down its prey.
Bakugo gritted his teeth and turned away.
"Tch. Whatever. Enjoy your little win while it lasts."
Reiji watched him walk off and chuckled.
[This is going to be fun.]
That night, Reiji didn't return to his penthouse right away.
Instead, he stood at the edge of a rooftop in the heart of Musutafu, overlooking the city below. The wind howled around him, carrying the distant sounds of traffic and life.
His golden eyes flickered in the dark as he watched the people move—civilians unaware of the chaos brewing beneath the surface.
He had always known that this world had its dangers. But U.S.J. would be his first true test against real villains.
This wasn't a game anymore.
A small smirk tugged at his lips.
"I wonder if they're ready for me."
A notification from the Mortal Kombat System appeared in his vision.
[Battle Evaluation Complete.]
[New Passive Skill Unlocked: Killer Instinct – In real combat, reaction speed and perception increase.]
Reiji chuckled. "That'll come in handy."
He closed the interface, his gaze locked on the city skyline.
Tomorrow, they would go to U.S.J.
And if his past knowledge was correct…
The real battle was about to begin.
End of Chapter 7.
