Chapter 11 - Chapter 10: A Score to Settle

"Is the Kraken your real name?" He asked, stepping forward and placing a hand on Katrina's shoulder, signalling her to stay back. It was dangerous and Katrina didn't argue because she knew it too; the Kraken was far out of her league.

He should have been scared. If he saw anything like this in his past life, he probably would have fucking freaked out at the sight of such a creature. To think a living thing like this could exist, it would test the limits of any sane man. But Lukas honestly didn't think it was just because of the fact that he had the Crown.

It was because he'd come face to face with a god before. The Kraken was no god. That meant he could be defeated.

"It's the only name you need to know, little Dragon. You have no idea how surprised I was when I heard your greeting. I would not be surprised if every single being in Linemall heard it. Quite bold, don't you think?" The Kraken rumbled and Lukas could tell the deep raspy heaves were laughter.

"Had to let you know that I woke up. I hear you've been a pain in my ass though, who you think you are? You know you just an octopus, fuck you think you doing tryna rule the Seas of Linemall? I'm telling you now to back up because this won't end well for you, Squidward."

The Kraken was no longer laughing. He didn't know what that last term meant but he certainly did not think it was a compliment.

"You've got a mouth on you, huh? I'm afraid to be the one to break it to you but the Age of Dragons has passed us, little one. I will be the one to rule. Because like the young Sterling boy told you, money is power. I control your town, Drakos runt. You do not rule them. And you never will."

That caught Lukas a bit off guard and he hoped it didn't show in his face. How much influence did the Kraken have in Linemall's economy? Did it go beyond just Dragonborn extorting the locals? He had no idea how deep those tentacles of his went.

"So what? You want me to work for you, like the Sterlings do?" He scoffed.

"Work for me? Lukas Drakos, I am going to skin you alive. I will ensure that you pay for the sins of your father." The entire demeanour shifted as the Kraken's chains began to groan, straining as he moved closer to Lukas. They were inches away now. He could see how vicious a wound Lord Jaren had dealt to his head. It should have killed him. Simple thoughts turned into waves of emotions, crashing down on him. Rage, hatred and agony flooded down upon his mind and he could feel the immense pressure pressing down onto his skull. Scenes of a battle long past flashed before his eyes, the Kraken forcing him to relive it; to watch as the Lord Jaren claws dug into his own head. It was just a second before he could feel shields around his mind forming; the Crown of the Lord was doing its work.

"I'm going to fucking kill you." The message was clear as day, no words were needed for him to catch the drift.

He whipped his head around to see Katrina on her knees, clutching her head; her hammer lay on the ground as she tried to withstand the mental torrent that the Kraken was sending out.

"Enough." The last time, he tried using this mind talk shit; he ended up sending the thought across the entirety of Linemall Village. This time, he was intentional. He said it with such force that the Kraken's onslaught faltered before stopping altogether.

"But before I do that, I'm going to make sure I take everything from you, Lukas. And I mean that wholeheartedly, I will make sure you're alive to witness it all just like how your father took everything away from me. I hope you spend the time you have left with your loved ones because the clock is ticking. We shall meet again, Drakos. And the next time, you will not have so much to say. I promise you that."

"Fuck you talking about, octo-bitch? We settling this shit now." Before the Kraken can even comprehend it, Lukas' right arm expands. The muscles expand, skin turns to scales and a giant beastly hand sinks its claws into the Kraken's head, right where the former Dragon Lord wounded him. A partial transformation, just going to show much he had improved in his control over the Draconic Flow. It's like second nature to him now. This is what his main focus has been during the last month, learning how to move in this new draconic vessel he has inherited. His grip is unbreakable as Lukas summons all the strength he has to slam the Kraken's head into the ground; holding him there. Blue blood seeps into the water around them, its dark and Lukas can taste the iron in every breath of water he takes in.

The Kraken lets out a scream so loud that the entire prison shakes and he begins to thrash around helplessly; squirming as Lukas' claws dig deeper into his skin. He is pinned down and despite his enormous size, it soon becomes clear that Lukas is stronger. Yet this does not make his enemy weak, this perhaps is one of the strongest that Lukas has come across; even Katrina would not stand a chance against him in a physical contest of strength. If not for the chains that were holding him down, Lukas would have had a much more difficult time handling him.

"Let's get one thing straight. There is no next time. I've got a score to settle with you, Kraken. And you're going to die now."
