Chapter 4 - Transmigration or Dream?

She moved forward and entered the main hall. There, she saw her first and third uncles, the two who were scheming against her position.

When she saw them, she decisively avoided them. They were talking among themselves, acting as if she wasn't around, clearly trying to displease her. She couldn't be bothered by this.

After she truly left, the two uncles were shocked. This niece of theirs was usually well-behaved and had good manners. She would pay her respects whenever she saw them, no matter how displeased she was with them. They had wanted to use this chance to make her uncomfortable and then push her to give up.

Yu Lingshe, on her way to the ancestral hall, chuckled. The attendants who followed behind her were also shocked, but no one said anything. The relationship between her and her father wasn't a secret to them, but affairs in the family and the outside world were different things, so this was a surprise to all of them.

Arriving at the gate of the ancestral hall, she wasn't stopped by the guards and kept walking forward. This was another benefit of the position of first lady— the idea that they should always be able to seek guidance from their ancestors.

It didn't take long before she arrived in the reception room, where her grandfather was already waiting for her. The clan leaders of each generation who could keep their position for a certain amount of time would become the ancestors of the family after they gave up their clan leader position.

Her father's ascension to the clan leader position had been with the help of this grandfather.

When he saw her, he smiled but also looked worried. "Oh, my dear Ling'er, you haven't visited me in such a long time. How are you doing?"

Yu Lingshe smiled. This grandfather of hers might be the most scheming person in the whole clan, but he was also the most loving in her family, at least towards her. He would spoil and pamper her while still taking care of her properly.

She bowed and greeted him, then came to sit next to him and served him the tea his attendant brought. "Of course I'm well. If I could, I would visit you every day! With grandfather's care for me, how could I not be well?"

Her grandfather looked at her, not believing her at all. She smiled once again; this was how he would always react when she acted cute, but she continued. "These small things uncle is doing don't matter to me at all. Grandpa doesn't need to worry."

He nodded. "If my little fairy says so, then it is indeed so! I asked you to come here today just to talk about these little things and because I have missed you! Tell me, is there anything you want?"

His question was a roundabout way of trying to make her feel better. At this point, her mother had barely passed away less than a year ago, so he was extra attentive, trying to accommodate her as much as possible. The changes in the clan were happening quickly, and he didn't want her to feel bad because of them.

Yu Lingshe smiled and nodded. "Grandfather…" she started, becoming serious. "Last night, I had a dream. It's… a vision passed to me by our ancestors!"

When he heard her say this, he also became serious. There was indeed such a phenomenon in their world; although the spiritual power was weak, there would always be Taoists who could calculate fate and such.

There had been such cases in their family, but, well… they had mostly turned out to be fake. Since it was his beloved granddaughter who already had the best position in the clan, he tended to believe her vision, so he wanted to listen.

Yu Lingshe also became serious at this moment. She didn't know whether she had transmigrated, reincarnated, or whether everything she had read was just a deep prophetic dream trying to tell her, in a roundabout way, about her fate.

Regardless, she decided to title it 'visionary dream' and wanted to start talking.

Right at this moment, there was a short sound of thunder above the sky. It was brief and very quiet, and none of the guards in Lingshe's vision reacted, but she and her grandfather heard it very clearly.

She looked in shock upwards, as if piercing the ceiling and directly perceiving the sky. There was also a tremor in her heart, warning her not to say too many things.

Sighing a bit, she changed what she wanted to say and instead said, "Grandfather… I wanted to see the ancestral treasure of our Yu family."

Her grandfather looked at her, trying to act as if nothing had happened, but his heart was in even more shock than hers. He exhaled and inhaled deeply several times before he calmed down. His old heart shouldn't have been able to experience such a shock—if he had been a normal human who hadn't ever practiced martial arts.

At this point, he was forced to believe in his granddaughter, even if she hadn't told him everything. But beyond his shock and surprise, there was another emotion—joy! He was elated. All these years of heritage seemed to have been worth it!

Only those who had become ancestors of the clan knew the truth about their family. The Yu family was one of the few true ancient families in the world, having existed for billions of years! The oldest records seemed to have disappeared, whether through natural or man-made disasters, but the heritage they knew of was still shocking!

Yu Lingshe walked into the clan treasury with the Yu ancestor. They were both somewhat quiet in their endeavor, but their eyes spoke volumes, both looking forward to an immeasurable future.

It didn't take long for them to arrive there. After all, it was right next to the ancestral hall. The servants along the way saw the seriousness with which they moved, so no one spoke. Even their attendants distanced themselves a few more steps.
