Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Catalyst Crash

A coffee cup trembles violently on the table tray, rattling louder with each jolt of turbulence.

It topples, splashing hot liquid everywhere as the gas masks drop from above swinging to and fro.

No one finches, no one cares.

Some passengers clutch their seats with white-knuckled grips, their faces drained of color. Others stare ahead, unblinking, trapped in silent horror.

They had already accepted their fate.

That this plane is going to crash.

"Oh God…" a woman whispers, hands clasped tightly as she prays for forgiveness. "Shit, this isn't how I expected to go out" as a slender tall man says while on the floor with coffee spilled all over him.

"This isn't the time to be making jokes, Jason" A lady wearing glasses answers him.

"Wow, so this is the famous Antonia's humour I've heard about?" Jason said sarcastically while motioning his hands. Anthonia just looks at him in disgust.

"You do know that we are falling rapidly through the air right?" She says.

Then a man, a huge man not too fat but not too slim either, complains like a little baby.

"What is happening?! I paid top dollar for this flight" he said.

He tries to drink his bourbon on an already shaky plane.

The plane tilts and shakes more violently.

Luggage flies all over, some open pouring out clothes.

The plane shakes more violently.

The passengers shout out of fear.

The man's whiskey pours on him.

"Please everyone remain calm, it's just a little turbulence" as the pilot says over the intercoms.

"A little turbulence?!" The man exclaims, while moving his whiskey drenched body around like a wet dog.

"The plane just lost—-" The man was cut off from completing his sentence by the plane tilting towards the side rapidly.

The passengers shout and cry.

"I don't wanna die"

"I don't wanna die"

"I don't wanna die"

As a passenger repeatedly mutters to himself.

The lights then flicker, with the intercoms glitching out.

"Tch—-Everyone—-" the intercom then gives a deadly radio silence.

Jason and Antonia are quiet as they just stare, they are speechless.

"I–I'll go check on the p-pilots" as she forced herself to speak. She then heads over to the cockpit.

A small child asks his mother "Am I going to die?" The mother in question is horrified, too scared to speak a word through her teeth.

She just turns and looks at her son in absolute silence, having no answer.

"Sir calm down, everything is under control, our pilots are the best" as an air hostess assures the man.

"This can't be happening to me?" As another man says in frustration, "I CANNOT die here!!" As he continues speaking.

He then says to himself "After everything—Everything, it's not just possible, this can't be my end" as he grits his teeth.

"I am THE fucking Eric" as he tries to get up but falls due to the lack of balance.

"This type of things aren't supposed to happen to me! I'm an elite!!!" As he emphasises.

The plane shakes violently some more.

"Please Please sir, just try to relax, panic won't do any good" as an air hostess tries to calm him down. This makes Eric pissed as he looks at the air hostess dreadfully.

Eric breathes heavily, his fingers gripping the seat so hard his knuckles turn white. His eyes darted around, wild and unfocused.

"No… no, no, no… this isn't happening to me." He mutters, voice shaking. "I'm not dying here."

"So please sir, just relax—-" She says as she moves closer.

He then slaps her so hard she's sent flying back into a wall and hits her head.

She falls towards the floor and is motionless. Everyone just watches in shock.

Some passengers shout in fear while others are just frozen in the silence.

"Hey—" as an air hostess crawls back in from the cockpit.

"EIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!" She screams in terror.

She's shocked at what she's just seeing, an air hostess on the floor motionless, bleeding from her head.

"That'll teach that bitch—-No that'll teach all of you to respect me!" As Eric shouts, he then points his finger towards the roof.

"Even you up there! You can't be doing this to me, you high and mighty bastard!!" As he looks up while pointing.

"Damn someone's pushy" as Antonia says under her breath. He hears this and looks ever more pissed.

"What the fuck did you just say?!" As Eric crawls towards her looking spiteful. "You couldn't just learn, you ungrateful bitch!"

Jason quietly stares down Eric, clenching his fist.

"If I'm going down, at least you all show me some damn respect!" As he grabs her skirt.

"Talking about respect, you got some pretty nice legs there" as then grabs her legs. Antonia is disgusted by this and kicks him in the face with her heels.

"Fuckkk!!" As he grabs his face and shouts. The other passengers of the first class section just look at what's happening, confused whether to step in or not.

Jason relaxes his hands and stops staring at Eric.

Jason says "So you can handle yourself pretty well" as he chuckles.

Antonia then replies "If we weren't going to die right now, I would've killed you myself" sounding pissed and irritated.

She then thinks to herself, "The nerve of this guy."

Eric then stops fidgeting as he laughs.

"Hahahahahaha!" as with each laugh it grows more deeper and menacing. He then removes his hands covering his face.

"This bitch can fight back, not a first though" as he smirks at Antonia. His face revealed that he was injured on his nose which is bleeding profusely.

Eric then continues crawling towards her, this time more vigorously as he shouts "Oh I'm gonna enjoy this" while smiling.

Jason then clenches his fists back up moving closer to Antonia.

He then reaches her and grabs her heels, she struggles back but to no avail, he removes her heels and tosses them away.

"No woman has ever stood up to me before, heck no one has stood up to me before" as he spreads her legs open while smiling.

She hits him on his back with her hands, but it doesn't seem to be affecting him.

Antonia looks at him, her heart pounding through her ribs, she scans at the other passengers' faces, but fear had turned all of them into statues.

"Antonia!!" As Jason shouts, while reaching towards her.

Clenching his fist ever more tightly and his teeth locked together.

"I'm not dying without doing this" as he licks his lips.

Her strong bravado had seemed to vanish into thin air.

He then moves his head towards Antonia.

A sucker punch kisses Eric's face, forcing him back.

"Well then make that two people" as Jason says while looking irritated. As Jason pulls her behind him, she exhales sharply.

Her heart still pounding, she doesn't still know why, either it's from what just happened or it's because Jason saved her.

"I thought you could fight for yourself" as he chuckles looking at her. Antonia, seeing this, is in awe but then quickly switches to disgust.

"Just shut up!" As she hits him on the back.

"Fucking hell!" As Eric exclaims and slams the floor. "Do you even know who I am?!"

As he shouts.

"Is this all you can do? Just barking?" As Jason asks while looking disgusted at him.

"And why do you always glorify yourself, who are you actually?" As he stares down Eric.

"How dare you talk down to me" as Eric gets up with his bloodied face.

A mighty turbulence comes in, shaking the whole plane so much the screws could loose.

Everyone loses their balance and some get tossed to the side of the plane.

Eric trying to get his balance, he stands up this time looking more dreaded.

"I am Eric Franks the heir of a fucking conglomerate" As he stands up finding balance on the chairs.

Jason also grabbing onto a chair, trying to stand up.

"Eric Franks huh…" as Jason puts his hand on his chin thinking.

"Never heard of you" as he says mockingly and smirks.

This pisses off Eric, which causes him to lunge at Jason. Jason interrupts this with a kick to the face.

"Since you're the heir of something, at least show some class" as he sends Eric dropping to the ground.

"You're talking about class?" As Eric gasps for air.

"Just because you're wearing some classy clothes and some designer glasses doesn't mean you can lecture me about class" as he moves forward slightly.

Antonia on the ground, struggles to get up, then her left hand stings her as she has a cut there.

"It must be from all the shaking" she thought as she presses the wound down.

She then looks up and sees Eric walking towards Jason.

"Jason…no" as she says weakly.

Eric rushes towards Jason and throws a punch, Jason steps back dodging it, he then counters with a kick of his own, hitting Eric in his diaphragm.

"....Fu—-" as he wheezes for air.

"Just please stop, this isn't how our final moments should be" as Jason says, already accepting the fact that there's no hope.

"Not….one…m-moment" as Eric wags his fingers grabbing a chair as support.

"You mean you're final moments" as Eric smirks now bleeding from his mouth as well.

Jason looking at him with absolute confusion. "What kind of delusion are you—."

He's cut short by Eric grabbing his face and slamming it into the ground.

Eric then continues to punch Jason immediately. He's somehow reveling in the fact of doing this.

"Jason!!!" As Antonia shouts, running towards them.

Then an air hostess grabs her, holding her back.

It's the air hostess that was hit by Eric.

"Let the men be—-" as she faintly says.

"We—have better things to worry about" as she weakly coughs.

As she said that, some people try to call all their loved ones—-informing them of their predicament—that they won't be returning.

The plane then takes a sudden nose dive.

Everything–Everyone goes silent, all being raised up, seemly floating mid-air.

Eric is lifted up off Jason as he flies towards the back of the plane with all other things. Luggage were moving all of over the place, papers flying, clothes and personal belongings floating around in the air.

They all hit towards the back of the plane, some people hit their head on the roof of the plane, some on the sides of the plane.

"No!!!!" As Eric shouts.

Jason coughs up blood mid-float. He then floats towards Eric and grabs him.

He breathes heavily and is bleeding from the nose. "I'm not dying—-without settling the score." They tussle and struggle against each other.

Eric grabs a tray that was floating and uses it to hit Eric.

Eric in anger tries to grab a loose seat belt.

He succeeds in grabbing it and ties it around Jason's neck, choking him.

Jason tries to fight back but is getting weaker.

Eric then intensifies his strength.

Then a loud thud is heard, Eric drops towards the side as he's become unconscious.

"I thought you were handling yourself pretty well" as Antonia chuckles while holding a tray.

Jason smiles as he's coughing.

Jason's gaze locks onto Antonia's—just for a moment. Her lips move, but the shouts of the passengers drown her out. Then—impact. Something slams into his skull. His vision explodes into white-hot pain.

Darkness swallows him whole.

He thinks "This is it huh? After everything"

"Never even got to reach—To find the truth"

"And Antonia.."
