Itogami Island, XXXXXXX Apartment Complex.
In Apartment 704, a young man with blue-and-silver hair, wearing nothing but his underwear, stared blankly into the air with a complicated expression.
"Seems I've finally gone insane…" muttered the boy as he sighed and rubbed his temple in exhaustion.
This boy was Akatsuki Kojou—just an ordinary first-year high school student, or at least he had been until about three months ago. Now, he was globally recognized as The Fourth Primogenitor, the mightiest vampire said to wield power enough to destroy the world alone.
"What the hell is this…?" Kojou mumbled, shifting his gaze back to the floating screen in front of him.
[Ding! Would you like to learn why you became The Fourth Primogenitor and recover your lost memories?]

"It even knows my memories are missing…" Kojou grumbled, rising from his bed. He could no longer tolerate this nonsense and needed to talk to someone about it. "But who the hell would I even tell about this stupid thing?"
The first person who came to mind was his only male friend, Yaze Motoki. But remembering the uncomfortable feeling he got whenever Yaze looked at him, Kojou quickly dismissed the idea. He'd always suspected Yaze had some ulterior motive for befriending him.
"As for Nagisa… I can't tell her. She's terrified of demons." Kojou massaged his temples, a headache forming as he agonized over who to confide in. He'd resolved to speak up—he couldn't bear the pressure anymore—but that didn't mean he'd do so recklessly. "And my parents? Those two wouldn't give a damn about what's happening to me."
Despite his racing thoughts, Kojou didn't waste time. He dressed mechanically, mentally running through his list of friends.
"As expected… the only one left is Asagi." He smiled bitterly, disgusted with himself. He knew Asagi Aiba was the only one who'd listen to him seriously, but he honestly didn't want to see her. Guilt gnawed at him whenever he thought of her.
Kojou was well aware Asagi had romantic feelings for him, but he'd played the fool, pretending not to notice. Back then, all he cared about was becoming a pro basketball player. And now? Here he was, ready to run to her the moment he had a problem.
Not that Kojou could claim he felt nothing for a beautiful girl like Asagi, who'd dedicated herself to him. But he'd never been able to confess his own feelings, and now it was even harder. As The Fourth Primogenitor, he feared she'd despise him.
"To hell with it." Kojou steeled himself and headed out, determined to reach Asagi's place. He'd tell her everything—the events of the past few months, the bizarre screen, and yes, even his feelings for her… if she didn't hate him for being a Primogenitor.
With that resolve, Kojou left his apartment and headed toward South Island, where Asagi's house stood.
He'd been a frequent visitor to the Aiba residence. Asagi had always been kind enough to tutor him, explain concepts he didn't understand, and even let him copy her homework.
South Island, Aiba Residency.
Kojou: "Asagi, I'm outside your house. Can we talk?"
After sending the message, Kojou waited nervously at Asagi's doorstep, his anxiety spiking. The floating screen still trailed him, a constant reminder of his predicament.
But what terrified him most was the thought of Asagi hating him—for ignoring her feelings out of selfishness, and now for becoming a "filthy demon."
Though barely a minute had passed since his text, to Kojou, it felt like an eternity.
Asagi: "Come in. I'll open the door for you. Wait in the living room—no one's home right now."
The message came from Mogwai, Asagi's AI, under her orders. Asagi herself was frantically cleaning her room. Though always elegant and put-together in public, at home, she was lazy and messy.
Seeing the reply, Kojou exhaled in relief—he'd been holding his breath without realizing it.
Kojou: "Got it."
"No turning back now." Kojou pocketed his phone and stepped toward the gate, which slid open automatically. "I'll tell Asagi everything. I'll accept any punishment, any anger… as long as she doesn't hate me."
He was prepared to do anything for her forgiveness. He was almost certain she'd rage, maybe even kick him out—but that was better than bottling it all up until he exploded.
With a grim expression, Kojou walked through the gate into the Aiba mansion. He had no time to admire the house's beauty, as he usually would. Thanks to Asagi's father's job, they lived in a stunning villa, and Kojou had always loved lingering in the garden during visits. But today, his mind was elsewhere.
What he was about to do would change his life forever.
