Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 - Back story

Long ago, the world was still a chorus of chaos, the unpredictability, all sorts of strange lifeforms thrived, and just like another, humans existed, communicating, eating berries, eating leaves, slowly developing, and trying to spread their offspring.

But something was different about them, while other lifeforms thought of how to live, what to do the next day, how to barely survive in the harsh world, sleeping in their nest content with all they had, they never thought of more, humans however, did, they looked to the skies, thinking of more, they thought of the stars, how they wanted to reach them.

And so they tried to, with the first hint of curiosity, came knowledge, with knowledge, came power, fire was the start of a great species, one that would rule the earth for thousands of years, they reached for more, they built, they learned, with the start of weapons came power over the other lifeforms, they took down many species,

and as they did, they became smarter, being able to spread across the world while having full control of it, but they wanted more, they built many structures, but they wanted even more, they reached for the stars, and so they tried, but they were only able touch something a trillionth of the way to the starts.

But beyond the stars, "strange things" were unsatisfied, and so the stars were going to become the one reaching this time, not to reach other stars, but instead, to reach for earth, and so they did....

Out of nowhere, white monsters with plated amour appeared out of nowhere, like out of the fabric of space, they moved at hundreds of miles per hours, with claws sharp enough to even cleanly slice through steel, while being able to see, hear, and feel anything up to a mile away, they tore through cities, killing people in the millions, nothing could stop them,

every single type of attack did not simply bounce of them, but instead, seemed to just stop with a bright colorful flash and then drop to the floor at about a meter before hitting them by a strange, colorful, and weird force, bullets from the strongest of guns and even tank shells seemed to exude this behavior, and humanity tried its best, the final attack on the monsters, was with nukes.

But it also failed, as the nukes came near the cities infested with the monsters, there was an even brighter flash, covering the whole city, as as the flash stopped, nothing at all happened, they lost their nuke, and nothing even happened to the city or the monsters, the monsters lived, as if nothing happened, humanity sent more nukes, but the same thing happened, a bright flash,

then nothing, so humanity lost, and in a last effort to survive, the whole earth, every single nation came together, to hide a a bunker, they could not win, so they hid, they built the biggest thing they could ever imagine, a bunker miles deeps, with technology to hide it even further, they tried to make every nation equal in it to try to make a sort of place were each nation had a split of control over the whole bunker.

But it quickly collapsed, and as it collapsed, the leader of the research branch called "Northain Thornwood", the one who made the bunker and the technology to hide it, decided to take control of the whole bunker, he quickly took control, but with a good goal, to make himself the leader of the bunker, and to lead the bunker towards a future full of the best technology, so maybe one day, they may, they could fight and take back control of the planet, and so he set a date, in one million years, they will open the gates to the outer world, and to fight with all their hearts and with their new tech, so maybe they could take control of the earth once more.

*Exactly one million years later, Laythan Thornwood, the 50,025th descendant of Northain Thornwood, lay comfortably in his perfectly manufactured bed, its soft body feels it has no texture, but it exuding a great sense of comfort, the pristine white walls along with the slick smooth white floor tiles feel as boring as ever in the great Thornwood bunker, he lay there, ready to read his favorite fantasy novel for the 1,853th time*
