Chapter 8 - Level Gap and the Use of Points

Throughout the summer vacation, Kenjiro spent his time training with Hinata.

Every day, he first made sure to locate Yamanaka Ino, then used the Transformation Jutsu to invite Hinata out. The two of them would head to an abandoned training ground, where they either practiced tree climbing or engaged in taijutsu sparring.

Through their training, Hinata not only gained a friend but also found newfound confidence. Her transformation over the summer was astonishing—not just in strength, but in demeanor as well.

Hyuga Hiashi was the first to notice the changes in his eldest daughter.

When he learned that Hinata was practicing water-walking, he realized that her outings were not merely for socializing and playing.

Kenjiro also became aware that someone was secretly observing him and Hinata.

However, rather than hiding, he decided to test Hyuga Hiashi's attitude.

That day, Kenjiro found an excuse to demonstrate his water-walking technique to Hinata.

In addition, he showcased his Shadow Clone Jutsu, a basic Wind Release technique, and thoroughly dominated Hinata in their taijutsu duels.

The next day, Kenjiro once again transformed into Yamanaka Ino and went to the Hyuga clan to invite Hinata out.

When he saw Hinata come out, he immediately understood Hiashi's stance.

The esteemed clan leader had tacitly approved of Hinata training with him.

To the major ninja clans, Kenjiro's background was no mystery at all.

A civilian orphan born into a ninja family, someone who had yet to complete a full year at the academy but had already mastered tree climbing and water walking—techniques not even taught there. On top of that, he could use the Shadow Clone Jutsu and basic Wind Release.

With such talent and chakra reserves, he was undoubtedly a prodigy of this era.

Hinata, training alongside such a gifted individual, would naturally be more motivated.

This was evident from how she diligently practiced water-walking at home, and how her personality and demeanor had changed.

Although Hiashi was somewhat disappointed in his eldest daughter's past performance, he had yet to recognize Hanabi's talent and thus had not given up on Hinata in favor of her younger sister.

Seeing how much Hinata had changed just from making a single friend, Hiashi could only feel pleased.

As for the idea of forcibly separating them? That did not cross Hiashi's mind.

First, they were still too young, and their relationship seemed purely platonic at this stage.

Second, in his eyes, there was no possibility between Kenjiro and Hinata.

The Hyuga clan's Byakugan could never be allowed to spread outside the clan.

Kenjiro was merely a tool to help Hinata grow stronger.

Hiashi would continue to monitor their relationship, and should anything change, he would step in to remind them of the harsh reality.

Unless Kenjiro became exceptionally outstanding—on the level of the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze—the two of them had no future together.

Neither Kenjiro nor Hinata knew about this.

Seeing that Hiashi did not stop him from spending time with Hinata, Kenjiro felt at ease. He began teaching her the Three Basic Jutsu and chakra control techniques while using taijutsu sparring as an opportunity to try and extract a red talentfrom her.

This summer was fruitful for both Kenjiro and Hinata.

Hinata had mastered tree climbing and water walking, as well as the Three Basic Jutsu.

However, due to her insufficient chakra reserves, she had not yet learned the Shadow Clone Jutsu.

Additionally, her Gentle Fist techniques had improved tremendously.

Among Kenjiro's talents was one called "Medical Genius."

His mother in this life had been a medical ninja, and he had inherited some basic medical ninjutsu scrolls from her. Kenjiro had long since mastered them.

To extract Hinata's red talent, he initially held back for a few days to let her adjust, but afterward, he fought her seriously, showing no mercy.

After each sparring session, he treated her injuries with medical ninjutsu.

Unlike Neji, who, despite his resentment toward Hinata, never dared to truly harm her under Hiashi's watchful eye, Kenjiro did not hold back at all.

He struck without hesitation, then comforted her afterward.

Repeatedly experiencing actual combat, Hinata's battle experience skyrocketed, and she became more decisive in her attacks, infusing her chakra into Kenjiro's body without hesitation.

Through constant battle and recovery, she had grown beyond the kind-hearted girl of the original timeline—one who would hesitate to harm her younger sister and ultimately lose to Hanabi, despite being five years older.

Hinata's remarkable transformation led Hiashi to fully approve of her 'meetings' with Kenjiro.

Although Kenjiro had not yet extracted the red talent from the Byakugan Princess, his improvements were equally significant.

Through their taijutsu duels, he had secretly learned the Hyuga clan's chakra point sealing techniques.

After testing Hiashi's attitude, Kenjiro asked Hinata to secretly bring him an anatomical chart of the human body and a scroll on chakra point sealing under the pretense of guidance.

Now, he had a solid grasp of the human body's chakra pathways and the technique of sealing an opponent's chakra flow.

While he had no interest in the Eight Trigrams techniques, the ability to disable an opponent's chakra during battle could prove invaluable.

Although he had not acquired a red talent, Kenjiro still managed to extract two talents from Hinata over the summer.

One was a blue: "Chakra Control," which he already possessed.

Ding!

At that moment, a notification sounded in his mind:

[You have acquired the talent [Chakra Control (Blue)]. It overlaps with your existing talent. Would you like to fuse or disassemble it?]

Kenjiro chose to fuse.

After fusion, the Chakra Control talent remained blue and did not upgrade to purple.

However, Kenjiro immediately felt a significant improvement in his chakra control.

At that moment, he finally understood why Sakura Haruno was able to surpass Hinata, who had been practicing Gentle Fist since childhood, and Shizune, who had trained under Tsunade for years, in just three years.

It was like the difference between the Hyuga clan's Byakugan and the Otsutsuki clan's pure Byakugan.

Even if both talents were labeled "Chakra Control," the gap between blue and purple was immense.

Even fusing two blue talents would not make it purple.

But a purple-level Chakra Control talent allowed Sakura to master advanced medical ninjutsu in just three years, along with the Senju clan's chakra-enhanced strength, and even the S-rank Yin Seal and Strength of a Hundred Seal techniques.

Apart from Chakra Control, Kenjiro also extracted a purple talent: Bloodline Limit – Byakugan.

Unfortunately, a bloodline limit was one thing, and the Byakugan Princess was another.

If Kenjiro did not already possess the Bloodline Limit – Byakugan, this talent would only grant him the dojutsu, not the purity of Hinata's Byakugan.

Kenjiro chose to disassemble the talent.

Fusing it would improve his Byakugan's purity but would never allow him to awaken the Tenseigan.

Just like how fusing two blue Chakra Control talents wouldn't create a purple one.

Even the Otsutsuki clan had to sacrifice an entire branch family's Byakugan to obtain the Tenseigan.

And considering their superior bloodline purity compared to the Hyuga clan, Kenjiro had no idea how many Byakugan talents he would need to merge to reach that level.

Fusing them now would only be a waste.

He wasn't lacking in purity.

Upon disassembling the Bloodline Limit – Byakugan (Purple), Kenjiro gained over a thousand points, and his status panel changed:

[Host: Kenjiro]

[Talents: Otsutsuki Bloodline (Red), Super Kage-Level Potential (Gold), Bloodline Limit – Byakugan (Purple), All-Attribute Affinity (Purple), Medical Genius (Blue) [+], Chakra Control (Blue) [+]]

[Points: 1791]

The plus signs next to Medical Genius and Chakra Control indicated that they could be upgraded.

That was the true purpose of points.
