Looking at the mirror, I'm currently checking my own appearance. I stand at 180 cm, with a lean but muscular body—perfect for someone specializing in speed. As for my face... I don't even know how to describe it, but honestly, it could put some models and celebrities to shame. Especially considering how average I was in my previous life, this is a huge upgrade. I'm truly blessed.
Perhaps this is what I've been waiting for all along? I should thank God for giving me this kind of face. Black hair, a sharp jawline—not bad at all. I guess this is what people would call a "top-tier" face, paired with a perfect body.
Seems like the previous owner of this body was really into sports and working out. But now I wonder... where is the original soul of this body? Did I somehow kill him? Or did we fuse together?
Hmm, the latter seems more likely.
Anyway, enough with the narcissism.
Looking at the clock, it's 7:59. Just one minute left.
Ding.
"WELCOME, EVERYONE. THE APOCALYPSE SHALL NOW BEGIN. PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO SURVIVE."
Tsk, tsk, tsk... Would you look at that? The tone, the voice—there's something about it. I don't know, but it almost sounds like it's mocking us humans.
Observing my surroundings, I can already hear the noise and chaos erupting outside my home. It's started, huh? The monsters are here. But after the people finish wiping them out, they'll start targeting bystanders... and murdering other survivors.
What a pity.
Well then, let's get moving. For now, I'm heading to the prison—it's just five blocks from here. That's where I'll begin.
As I walked toward the prison in the city, I suddenly heard scratching sounds nearby.
"Griiik... griiik..."
The sound of goblins.
Just a few meters in front of me stood a group of monsters—goblins. The weakest of the bunch, but still dangerous. There were five of them, each holding crude clubs made of wood.
I took a stance, ready to fight.
Then I remembered—
"Ah, right… I don't have a sword yet. Sigh."
Looks like I'll be fighting empty-handed.
Suddenly, all five goblins started rushing toward me.
I quickly picked up a rock from the ground. Not ideal, but it'll do.
The first one to reach me was a goblin nearly 3 meters tall. Fast little bastard.
I grinned and chuckled.
He lunged, swinging his club toward my head.
Predictable.
I slid my foot to the side. He momentarily paused, caught off balance.
That was my cue.
I lunged forward, slamming the rock into his head, then followed up with a strike to his neck. That should kill him.
The remaining four arrived.
One of them slammed his club at where I stood a second ago.
I jumped left just in time, grabbed the fallen goblin's club, and readied it.
I breathed in, then swung the weapon hard toward the neck of the one who had slammed the ground.
That's two down.
I blocked another attack and kicked one goblin in the stomach, sending him flying. While dodging the other two, I quickly dashed toward the goblin I had kicked and finished him off.
That's three.
Only two left.
"Hup!"
I used my speed to close the distance and took them down cleanly.
Too bad… my skill didn't activate. Probably because I'm not using a proper sword.
What a pity.
Looks like finding a sword is my top priority. Or maybe I should just buy one from the shop.

Dual Swordsmanship (SSS)
The pinnacle of twin-blade combat. A swordsman at this level can wield two blades in perfect harmony, each moving like an extension of their body. This style focuses on speed, offense, fluidity, and adaptability, enabling the user to unleash relentless flurries of attacks, defend from multiple angles, and overwhelm opponents with unpredictable ferocity.
My coins were back to zero, but it was worth it.
Now that I had a proper sword in my hand, I could feel it—the strength inside me. The potential. The beginning of something greater.
With renewed determination, I started walking again.
