*Creak*
The door opened and a charming young lady entered the room with a panicked expression. Another beautiful young woman walked slightly behind her, her brilliant black eyes contained a mix of concern and worry.
They both looked at the young man in front of them with a deep frown.
They were none other than Arya and Cecilia!
"Cecilia, do you think something went wrong?" Arya asked with concern.
"I-I don't think so, other blind or paralyzed people were able to play normally. So young master should also be able to comfortably play." Cecilia answered, her voice filled with anxiousness and doubt in what she read.
There was complete silence in the room as they looked at Kai.
Arya turned around and spoke. "I am going to call a doct-"
"A-Arya!!" A soft and fearful voice suddenly called out.
The very next moment Kai could hear rushed footsteps coming towards him. Arya suddenly wrapped her arms around Kai and tightly hugged him, holding onto Kai as if he would disappear if she would release him.
Cecilia also walked close with a relieved smile.
Although Kai couldn't feel anything he could hear muffled cries close to him and could guess without his other senses how worried he had made her.
He felt guilty for making her worry so much! All he does is make things more and more difficult for her!
He hated himself for being so useless!
He felt disgusted on being such a heavy burden!
He felt totally powerless!
This is the main reason why he had decided to contribute and pay them back with the help of the game, at this moment he was once again reminded to do his absolute best! Even if it means dying over and over and experiencing that hellish pain several more times in the game!
He vowed in his mind and soul to is definitely have Arya and Cecilia live a comfortable life.
"Arya…" He called out in a gentle tone.
Arya's face blossomed with a beautiful smile as she wiped her tears and looked up at Kai. Her face then instantly turned serious. "Brother! Did the g-game… work? It didn't cause any trouble, right? Why did you only come out now? Should I call a doctor?" She instantly bombarded Kai with questions.
"I am completely fine my cute little sister; there's no need to call a doctor."
A gentle smile crept onto his face as he continued. "Thank you! Thank you so much for getting me this game, you two. I would never even dream of these things much less think about it. But today I experienced it first-hand! All thanks to you two!" Kai's voice was filled with pure gratitude, small beads of tears started falling from his motionless and closed eyes.
Both Arya and Cecilia smiled brightly before starting to grinning and giggling from ear to ear. Both Arya and Cecilia looked and each other and shared a resounding high five.
"I am glad it worked brother!" Arya said with a beautiful smile.
The smile was then instantly replaced with a solemn and slightly angry look as she continued. "But you still owe us an explanation for being so extremely late. Even if you were enjoying yourself, you shouldn't just skip lunch and continuously play for 10 hours!! You hear that 10 WHOLE HOURS!!!" Arya lashed out on Kai. Even Cecilia nodded in agreement with a serious look, which only made her look cuter.
Before Kai could reply. "Young miss, we should first feed and clean the young master, we can listen to his explanation while we clean him. Maybe even punishing him in the process so he won't dare to make such a careless mistake again!" Cecilia interrupted Arya and suggested with an evil smirk.
Arya's eyes glowed bright as she replied. "You are a genius, Cecilia!!! Quick lets hurry and prepare!"
Kai expression darkened.
"When did my cute and caring Cecilia grew so cruel? What did you do to her Arya!!" He shouted.
Arya snickered in response while Cecila blushed. They then left the room.
After a moment of acceptance he internally sighed in defeat and accepted his well deserved fate. Besides, he was feeling happy knowing they worried about him so much.
They then came after a while, dragging along a table filled with dishes and cleaning material.
They cautiously helped him sit. After they finished feeding him, they stripped Kai and listened attentively as they slowly cleaned him.
Kai smiled wryly. He proceeded to tell them about the events that he experienced, excluding some parts like falling unconscious and that extremely painful experience. Both Arya and Cecilia listened with interest like children obediently listening to their parents.
He told them about the mysterious world spirit named Lilith, the powerful old man, Old Man Hanxian, and about his legacy and trials, not forgetting to remove some 'minor' parts like potential life and death experiences and more.
At the end both of them had their mouth slightly open, totally immersed in the story and enjoying it. They sat quietly, even forgetting about washing him or the punishment plan meticulously devised.
"So that's that, after I completed the first trial I immediately logged off and came back." Kai finished.
"Wow brother, your luck is really something! From what I could tell it might be a unique area that you accidentally stumbled upon due to those hellhounds." Arya said.
"Unique areas? What are those?" Kai curiously asked.
"Only 1 or 2 other unique areas are found yet, so there's not much information yet, some players enquired with NPC's and also read some books in the libraries, and they found that these are extremely dangerous areas, but they contain many priceless items as well."
"As the saying goes opportunities are always accompanied by danger. The bigger the opportunity the higher the danger level. This is also why many players want to go in these areas, in fact many have already started moving towards these areas." Arya explained.
"Looks like I really lucked out this time." Kai chuckled with joy.
After some more small talk. They quickly finished cleaning him and dressed him back up and followingly made him lie down the bed.
"Good night brother, see you tomorrow!" Arya says and walks out the door.
"Good night, Arya, sleep well!" Kai said.
Cecilia and Kai exchanged some words before she also left the room.
Kai was left alone in his world of darkness where all he could see was an infinite abyss, he couldn't sense his surroundings or his body like he did in the game.
"I wonder what the real world looks like." He muttered in a low tone.
As Kai recalled his memories of the day and smiled happily. He thought about Lilith the lone world spirit he met and how similar they seemed. He also remembered about the trial and the hellish pain he went through.
"I wonder what she is doing." He muttered. He then bitterly smiled at himself. The next moment… he fell asleep.
...
The next morning after breakfast Kai asked Arya to put on the gear again to which she happily compiled after getting his assurance that he will be back by lunch time. She went as far as threatening him if he didn't follow the rules.
In the game. Kai returned back to the small wooden room he logged off in.
"Let's complete this trial now!" Kai said as a glint of determination flashed through his eyes.
