Chapter 15 - My girlfriend

"Crescentia is my girlfriend," he replied without an ounce of stutter in his tone.

Juliette's naw dropped, while Lucian who was holding her close to him as if Damian was going to steal his girlfriend choked on his own saliva.

Magnus and Victoria tried to hide their shock, however, their tight smiles and squinted eyes plus their nose flaring gave their expression away. It didn't look like they were shocked anymore—more like they were furious that Crescentia was dating someone like Damian Lorenzo.

Meanwhile, Crescentia stiffened in her seat, slowly raising her head to meet Damian's dark eyes that were already on hers, winking at her.

"Oh—I didn't know t-that." Juliette tried to mask her jealousy but Damian noticed the gnashed teeth. He wondered just what had been happening in their family.

He was one to know family members didn't like each other. He didn't like anyone in his family either, except his grandmother. However, their hostility towards Crescentia was something he didn't understand.

He made a mental note to investigate her and her family's history. Maybe he would get an answer why he was so intrigued by her.

"Crescentia my dear, why didn't you tell us you got a boyfriend? And that too, Damian Lorenzo?" Victoria asked in the sweetest tone she could possibly speak in.

Crescentia had been more than taken aback by what Damian had said. There was no clause in their one night fake dating that he could call her his girlfriend especially since their act was over.

"It slipped my mind because of everything that had been happening," Crescentia managed to say. "We only started dating just recently," she added when they didn't say anything.

Lucian's eyes glared at her. He dumped her just a few days ago and she had the audacity to date a business tycoon such as Damian the next day?

'She has such audacity,' he thought to himself, his blood boiling in rage.

After he'd kicked her out, she'd thought she was going to spam his phone with several text messages pleading to take her back, or maybe even suggest something sexually fun like a threesome since she never allowed him to touch her inappropriately.

After days, she comes back with a new boyfriend.

Lucian's tongue felt bitter with betrayal, as if Crescentia had cheated on him even though they'd been the one to break up with her.

Juliette also felt the same way. Damian was a handsome man—handsome would be an understatement because the man looked like a Greek god that'd been crafted perfectly by the gods of the heavens. His chiseled jaw was more than enough to catch attention, then his jawline that was sharp enough to cut through tree trunks drew even more attention.

He was muscular and built perfectly well like someone who hit the gym on a daily basis.

In conclusion, Damian was Juliette's dream man.

Lucian was only handsome, but standing next to Damian, he merely looked like his chauffeur.

"You should tell us more things, my dear. I understand that you must be going through a lot, but we're here to listen to you," Victoria spoke like a mother that didn't fit her deceitful nature at all.

Crescentia simply nodded, refusing to say anything anymore.

"If you don't mind, Mr. Lorenzo, I would like to speak with you in private," Magnus said and the both of them excused each other from the group.

Crescentia was aware that the trio before her were going to bombard her with hushed questions so she excused herself to go to the bathroom before they could even start their first word.

When Crescentia reached the restroom, she turned on the faucet and splashed water on her face as if it would rewind the time Damian had said she was his girlfriend.

"Crescentia!"

Crescentia sighed when she saw who went into the restroom with her. She should have known they weren't going to let her go scot free without bombarding her with questions like they'd intended to do.

"What do you want?" She asked.

Before Juliette could speak, she checked the cubicles if it had an occupant by creeping from below.

When she confirmed it was only the both of them, she started, "When did you start dating Damian Lorenzo?!"

Crescentia blinked at her but didn't say anything.

"Were you cheating on Lucian?" She added.

"I wouldn't cheat on that thing," she responded, still hating herself for silently apologizing for calling Lucian a thing. He was still the first man she'd ever loved. "Damian and I met and we fell in love and dated. It's something so simple, why don't you understand it, Jules?"

"That's impossible, unless you might have done something." Juliette stared at Crescentia like she was someone filthy. "Maybe you must have done something inappropriate, something dirty to earn his love. Maybe, you seduced him."

"You mean the same way you seduced Lucian? Thanks, but there are actual ways you can make a man fall in love with you and do you want to know a tip?" Crescentia asked, stepping forward and leaning into Juliette's ears. "You don't need to spread your legs to him to earn his love."

Crescentia felt a sting for saying that, especially since she had opened her legs for Damian. But she wasn't going to inform anyone that she'd been a hooker for one night.

Juliette's face turned as red as a tomato in embarrassment.

Crescentia snickered before excusing herself, leaving Juliette alone in the restroom to dwell with her words.

When Crescentia reached outside, she couldn't find Magnus and Damian. But the ceremony was about his start. It was finally time to put her parent's caskets into the dug six foot grave.

Crescentia wished she could stop the ceremony and have it rescheduled when Noella was all better so she could see them for the last time.

At second thought, Crescentia didn't think that would be a good idea. Noella was still recovering, so the scene would be too much for her.

Unbeknownst to Crescentia, a familiar pair of midnight eyes have been staring at her.
