There are four classes of runes.
Physique

Physique runes grants one with a specific enhancement of a particular body constitution, maybe increase in agility, increase in strength, hearing, etc. Also, there's always a chance of getting the physique of beasts, like the speed of a swallow, the body of a dragon, the strength of a titan, etc.
Elemental runes grants one with a specific element.
Beast runes grants one the ability to fully shift or partially shift into a beast and make use of their abilities.
Variant genes are genes which are ultimately rare and sometimes have the characteristics of the first three classes.
Rune Awakening occurs only twice in a lifetime, first when one enters the mortal order and second when one enters the sky order. So if your first rune is weak, there's a chance of awakening a rune that ks stronger on your second awakening.
Races.
In this world, there are several races. After the cataclysm caused by the akashic runes descending, several races appeared from who knows where.
Some took over a part of the world and began to live there while others went out towards outer space and conquered a planet. Amongst the myriad of races, ten races roam the human planet, Ryar.
