Chapter 22 - A Dangerous Boss with Amazing Skills

When he opened the large doors, he found a large room built on the rock.

At the back of the room, a strange creature stood on four spider legs. Its lower body was that of a spider, but its upper body was that of a really big goblin, with powerful arms and two additional spider legs, which were a bit strange because it used them as hands.

On one of the spider's hands rested a magic book that seemed to be burning continuously.

Elliot had not seen this item before when he took a look at it, so it caught his attention.

'... A book on fire that never burns. I hope it's not what I'm thinking.' He swallowed a little.

On the other spider arm rested a strange broken mirror.

Its goblin hands were holding a sword, and the other was free.

'I saw it from behind before, but this looks more dangerous than I thought, especially because of that little book.'

If he was unlucky, that book would be a Magic Tool capable of creating fireballs. It is one of the ways in which someone could cast spells at a distance without being a Soul Mage. Of course, the premise for casting that magic is that you are akin to the magical elemental attribute.

And the thing is that this beast is related to that attribute, as it is a Physical Fire Mage. possibly. Although its attack will be less powerful, it is an attack that can burn up oxygen, and there isn't much oxygen in a dungeon, so it would be in trouble if something like that happened.

Seeing this, Elliot knew he had to hurry and put the tank in front of him. He walked right behind the tank, and the killer rat was behind him, hidden in his figure.

He surveyed the room, trying to devise a strategy, and also studied every possible way this strange beast could attack.

When the beast noticed that people were approaching, it stood up firmly. It had no real reasoning, so when it saw an enemy, it didn't hesitate to scream from the rooftops.

"KYAAAA!"

It immediately ran at high speed with its four legs towards where the High Goblin was, who immediately prepared himself under Elliot's orders and jumped towards it to face it.

Elliot then told the rat to look for opportunities to attack its blind spots and quickly listed them.

At the same time, the High Goblin came before the dungeon boss and held the swinging sword tightly between its arms, using them as if they were an energy shield.

The impact moved it slightly backwards, but its resistance was slightly superior to the boss's attack, so it was able to withstand it quite well. At the same time, Elliot jumped up from behind and quickly managed to get behind the boss, trying to hit the back of its spider body.

Even so, this spider had tremendous agility and managed to dodge him by a hair's breadth after an extraordinary leap powered by its four legs.

'It has more than 20 points in agility...' He thought when he saw the momentum, but he also realized something. It wasn't using the full potential of those points.

'As I thought, it's not an Assassin. Agility is its weakness; it won't be able to dodge one of my attacks again.' He smiled.

But the next move left him in shock.

The boss turned around in mid-air, and the book with the small flames of fire lit up, causing an enormous fireball to shoot towards Elliot with incredible speed.

"Shit. How unlucky I am."

Elliot was forced to back up fiercely, managing to dodge the fireball by a narrow margin. It exploded on the ground and set the place on fire in an explosion, but it didn't leave much of a mark.

At that very moment, the rat, which had somehow managed to climb the nearby walls, jumped towards the boss, who was still in the air, and tried to hit it in the right eye.

'Did you get it?' Elliot was suddenly excited, preparing to strike quickly, but he saw something amazing at that moment.

It was only a slight movement that the boss made, of a few centimeters, but it managed to dodge the place of the blow precisely and ended up being hit on the shoulder.

Elliot immediately frowned.

'It wasn't his agility that allowed him to dodge that, as it wouldn't make sense being in such a disadvantageous position... Did he know beforehand?' He looked at the other spider hand where the mirror rested.

It was only for a moment, but he felt that it had been activated. 'Does that mirror have a special ability?' He thought.

He looked at his own mirror and turned it over several times, as they were very similar. Besides, he had come here because his mirror had told him that he would find answers here and that mirror in the boss's hand could be the answer he was looking for. But he couldn't do anything.

It didn't activate or seem to have that ability or anything.

In the end, he had to sigh.

The boss fell to the ground shortly after being pushed by the rat. The moment he hit the ground, Elliot told the tank to attack together.

But then an attack was dodged with precision, only to dodge a second and even a third attack...

When he dodged his five attack with too much precision, Elliot stopped attacking and stared at it.

"Predictions. There's no doubt about it, that mirror has some kind of power to predict the opponent's blows."

He had to complain this time. His mirror couldn't even be activated, and this guy could even predict where his blows were going?

When he said that, the boss seemed to smile, although perhaps it was just an illusion because he suddenly became terrifying.

Elliot gripped his knife tightly and stared at him.

"You'd better start using your tricks because I don't think you can keep dodging all our attacks," he said mockingly.

He immediately jumped towards the boss, ignoring the fact that he was not a tank. He quickly reached him and hit his knife against the sword. His attack power was greater than the boss's, allowing him to push the boss back.

He immediately shouted: "To the sides, quick!"

Then he attacked several more times and jumped to the other side of the boss, just as his two summons also arrived to attack it. Even so, it acted quickly and defended itself with an extremely powerful fireball, the second spell it had used since they had arrived here.

The boss immediately threw it at Elliot, recognizing him as the most dangerous, but his new summon got in the way just before he was hit. The explosion pushed him back, but he managed to hold on long enough.

The fire illuminated the whole room, allowing Elliot to attack from a blind spot.

'I can't let him keep using fire attacks. It's getting harder and harder to breathe. But this... It's also problematic.'

His speed reached its maximum, and his knife forcefully embedded itself in the spider's hand, where the small piece of the mirror rested.

"KYAAAAAA!"

The scream of pain echoed around the area, but Elliot managed to pull its hand away with all his strength, at the same time ripping the item from the goblin's hand and seriously injuring it.

Although he tried to move nimbly towards the other hand to snatch the magic book, he didn't expect to be hit so quickly by the goblin's hand. The blow sent him flying until he hit one of the nearby walls with an explosion.

"Shit," he complained, but got up as soon as he could and looked at his summons.

"He'll attack with more magic from now on, so be careful!" Elliot's shout echoed in the rat's only ear as it again tried to attack the spider's eyes.

The rat didn't understand, or perhaps it wasn't expecting it, but a huge ball of fire appeared before its eyes and hit it square on, causing a powerful explosion on the other side of the room.

At that moment, the boss looked hatefully at Elliot, and its body burst into flames with a battle cry, full of hatred: "KYAAAAA!"

The goblin's two hands were surrounded by intense fire, as the boss judged the situation dangerous. It needed to use its real power.

The fire caused its massive goblin muscles to grow, enveloping its body in a hot energy.

Then, it roared once more at the front, seeking out the figures of its enemies to tear them to pieces.

Just then, Elliot smiled coldly.

He passed through the blind spot this had created and mounted himself on the boss's back.

"Even if you want to use all your power now, it's too late."

He immediately began to beat it from behind, inflicting countless wounds on its spider-like body in an instant. He ran to the goblin's upper body and stuck a knife close to its eye, momentarily blinding it with pain.

Although it was only for a moment, it was enough.

The tall goblin, who had recovered a little from the previous explosion, knew that it had to jump and hang on to the boss's neck to immobilize it, and the badly injured rat finally managed to dig its sharp nails into the boss's eyes.

This rat seemed to have an intense rage that overflowed from its body. It seemed to have a mind of its own.

It was a simultaneous attack from all sides, and although the boss tried to defend himself using his physical magic, it was too late. The magic couldn't hit those above him. Besides, the only one who felt any heat was Elliot. The invocations didn't feel it, and Elliot could resist it thanks to his high resistance.

Therefore...

A few seconds after a round of fierce attacks, the system's message reached him.

[You have killed the E-Rank Boss: Inventor Goblin's Spider Chimera]

[You have received 6 stat points]

[The E-Rank Dungeon of the Inventor Goblin's Spider Chimera Boss has been cleared]

[Congratulations, Newbie Player Elliot Clark]

Elliot finally smiled; happiness hit him in many ways, and he hadn't even read the system messages.

'I have no doubts. I'm not like any of those Awakened. My stats are not restricted. I can use 100% of all my stats.'
