Dex quickly grabbed Ethan's phone, shocked that the wish had actually come true.
"This thing actually works," Dex said while looking at the Orb. The rest of the crew couldn't believe it either. Everyone's excitement was through the roof. A smirk appeared on Marquis's face, the Ancient Orb worked.
"OK. It's my turn," Dex said while walking toward the Orb.
"What are you going to wish for, dude?" Ethan asked excitedly.
"I have no idea, bro... let me think."
Dex placed his hand on the Orb and started thinking. His face turned ugly, and the Orb started glowing for a minute, then it stopped.
"Yo, what did you wish for?" Ethan asked, full of curiosity.
"I... don't... know... but I'm actually happy with it," Dex said with a smile. For some reason, he felt relieved.
"Come on, dude, just tell me," Ethan persisted.
"Relax, man. You know I wouldn't keep you in the dark like that... you'll see," Dex replied, and Ethan finally let go of the issue.
"OK, it's my turn," Chloe said while walking toward the Orb. She placed her hand on the Orb and closed her eyes. The Orb started glowing, then it stopped. She walked away with a smile, excited.
"What did you wish for, Chloe?" Nia asked, curiosity etched on her face.
"It's a secret," Chloe said, winking at Nia.
"Okay, I guess it's my turn then," Nia replied, heading toward the Orb. She placed her hand on it and focused, thinking carefully about what she wanted, this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The Orb glowed and stopped again.
"The tables have turned," Nia said with a smirk, walking away from the Orb.
"Finally, it's my turn," Kareem said, walking toward the Ancient Orb. He placed his hand on it and turned back to look at his friends. He looked back at the Orb and closed his eyes with a smile, about to make his wish, when he heard,
"Bro is about to be a freaking wizard," Ethan said.
"Magic would be kind of cool, I won't lie," Dex retorted.
"Bro, be a wizard, that shit might actually be cool!" Ethan yelled.
The Orb started glowing. Kareem's mind got disturbed, and images of a wizard started appearing in his head. He tried to shake it off, but with Dex and Ethan speaking behind him, he conceded and made the wish. The Orb started glowing, and a robe materialized, falling into Kareem's hands. The Orb started floating, and a star-shaped crystal came out from inside it. The star moved toward Kareem, and a black book started to materialize from the star. After a few seconds, the book was complete and fell into Kareem's hands on top of the black robe.
The Ancient Orb then floated back into place and stopped glowing.
"What did you wish for, dude?" Ethan asked excitedly.
Kareem turned around and spoke, "I'm a fuckin' wizard, baby!"
"Yooo!"
"I knew you was a nerd," Dex said, laughing.
"Oh, shut the hell up, man," Kareem replied, laughing.
Ethan quickly placed both hands in the air toward Kareem, his eyes wide open in a comical way, and while laughing, he said, "I present to you... the Wizard of Oz!"
The whole group burst out laughing.
Marquis started walking toward the Orb when suddenly a hand appeared in front of him.
"What the heck are you doing?" Dex asked, his hand blocking Marquis's path toward the Orb.
Marquis looked at Dex, then back at the rest of the crew. They were all shocked by him having the audacity to try and make a wish without asking them first.
Marquis looked down, his heart racing. He couldn't afford to lose such an opportunity. He dropped to his knees.
"Please... Dex... Please, can I make a wish?" he asked, his eyes almost teary.
"Why the heck would we let you get your wish? From the looks of things, you obviously didn't want us knowing about this Orb. So tell me, twerp, what were you going to wish for?" Dex demanded.
Marquis didn't know how to reply. Fear gripped him. The rest of The Untouchables closed in and stood next to Dex, their eyes saying it all,
" Why the heck would we let someone we've tortured for most of their school life get any wish they want granted? What if he wishes us dead?"
Marquis bowed his head down, his forehead against the ground.
"Please... I beg you... I won't make any wish against you... I swear on my life, I won't wish for anything against you... so please, let me have this one thing... please," he begged.
Kareem was the first to fold. "Let's just let him get his wish. Look at him kissing the ground for us."
The rest of the group especially Dex had second thoughts about that idea. After a while of begging and being persuaded by Kareem, the group finally agreed.
"Don't act stupid, Marquis. I'm a freaking wizard now, I'll magic your dumb-ass to hell," Kareem said, and the crew laughed.
Marquis got up, about to walk toward the Orb, but Dex stopped him again.
"You want your wish granted, right? Lick my shoe, the bottom! It's the only way you're getting that wish, twerp," Dex declared, and the group couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Marquis got on his knees and slowly lowered his head. With a smirk on his face, Dex lifted his leg up a bit, revealing just how dirty his shoe was. Marquis's face turned ugly, the nauseating smell and how dirty Dex's shoe was made him gag, about to puke. The closer he got to the shoe, the uglier his face got. He puked in his mouth a bit and swallowed, then he pushed his tongue out and ran it across half of the bottom of Dex's shoe. All the dirt and whatever he stepped on stuck to Marquis's tongue like glue. Not wanting to make Dex angry, Marquis could only swallow whatever was stuck to his tongue.
He closed his eyes, forcing himself to swallow.
"Ewww, that's so nasty," Chloe said.
"Dex, did you step on sh*t or something?" Nia asked, covering her mouth, and the whole group burst out laughing.
"Good boy. Now go on and make your wish and don't forget your promise, Marquis," Dex said, staring deep into Marquis's soul.
Marquis walked over toward the Orb. The Orb started glowing before he even reached it, the glow intensifying the closer he got. The glow stopped when Marquis reached the Orb. He placed his hand on it and closed his eyes.
As soon as Marquis placed his hand on the Orb, Dex's heart skipped a beat. He swallowed air, nervousness and a bit of fear evident on his face.
Marquis knew he only had two options, wish for his bullies to disappear forever, or wish for power so he could defend himself. Marquis focused, and in his head, he made his wish,
"I wish—"
The Orb instantly started floating, and Marquis started floating too. After a few seconds, he fell to the ground, landing on his feet. The symbols and runes on the Orb started glowing and floating around it. The Orb started spinning around in a roundabout motion at incredible speeds, then it vanished.
"What happened? Where did it go?" Ethan asked, shocked. The rest of the crew were also shocked and about to ask the exact same thing.
"What the hell did you do? What did you wish for? And don't even think about lying to me, kid," Dex demanded while walking with furious strides toward Marquis.
Marquis put his hands in the air.
"I didn't do anything, I swear, I don't know why it disappeared!"
"Tell me what you wished for. Now!" Dex demanded again.
"This ain't no game, Marquis. Stop wasting our time and get those lips moving," Kareem chimed in.
Marquis looked around him, it seemed like the whole crew was ready to devour him.
With fear in his eyes, he quickly spoke,
"I wished to be able to see the future. I call it Future Sight. I swear that's what I wished for."
"Then explain why the Orb disappeared. You must have done something... don't play games with me, kid," Dex said, losing his patience.
Marquis looked around, his heart and mind racing, looking for an answer.
"Maybe it left because we all got our wishes. Maybe no one has been able to find it all this time, that's why it stayed here."
"He's lying. This little twerp has been getting ballsy these days. He needs to be taught a lesson," Nia chimed in.
Marquis's head quickly flung upwards, his eyes rolling to the back of his head.
"What the heck is wrong with him?" Ethan asked.
Marquis's head came down, and his pupils reappeared in his eyes.
"It's going to collapse," he said.
"What are you talking about?" Kareem asked.
This whole time, Chloe had been feeling uneasy and wasn't focused on anything except wanting to leave as soon as possible.
"This cave we're in, it's going to collapse," Marquis said.
"OK. He's finally lost it," Ethan said.
After the Ancient Orb had disappeared, all the beautiful animals and creatures on the mountain started leaving. Inside the mountain, the group heard the phoenix's cry as if it were flying above them. They quickly looked up, the phoenix was flying above the mountain, heading east, leaving the mountain behind.
After the cry of the phoenix, the mountain started shaking. The group struggled to keep their balance. After a few seconds of shaking,
RRRRRHHHHHHHHHH!
A loud roar echoed, the loudest roar to have ever existed. It was somehow able to be heard by everyone around the world.
Chloe collapsed to the ground on her knees, tears running down her eyes nonstop. The unknown beast roared again, the sound of the roar causing a great sense of sadness. The rest of the crew collapsed to the ground, overwhelmed by sadness, tears in their eyes.
Around the world, some people started crying, and some were trying their best to hold back tears. No one knew why they were sad and crying, but they all were. Even the animals around the world cried, wolves and dogs alike howled at the moon, lions roared, and birds chirped nonstop.
Chloe started feeling dizzy. She held her head, crying, then she screamed her loudest scream ever, then blank.
She appeared in the dark space again and instantly started looking around for the weird zombie woman.
She felt a weird sensation from behind and quickly turned around—
SLAP!
A slap echoed in the dark place. The rotten zombie woman slapped Chloe so hard she spat blood, falling to the ground.
"Why are you here?! Why are you here?! WHY?! Back to the beginning!" screamed the rotten zombie woman.
She grabbed Chloe's leg and started dragging her across the ground, then flung her across the dark space.
"They all died! For what? Why did you have to come here? WHY?!" the rotten zombie woman rambled on.
"It's all over," she said, staring up. Then she slowly tilted her head toward Chloe, who was on the floor struggling to get up.
"DIE!"
She bolted toward Chloe, got on top of her, and grabbed her head, her fingers about to sink into Chloe's skull. Chloe screamed and groaned in pain.
"DIE!"
The zombie woman screamed, then she twisted Chloe's head, breaking her neck. Chloe's head twisted, rotating around and staring back at the zombie.
Chloe snapped back to reality, gasping for air, her hands running around her neck, making sure she was alive. Fear was etched on her face, tears hitting the soil non stop. She crawled backward in fear, her back resting against the wall.
The rest of the crew didn't really focus on her, they were still being hit by the immense sadness brought by the roar.
