Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: I Won’t Let the Young Master Be Harmed!

However, Dailon's screams quickly faded away.

A few seconds later, countless "zombies" moved away from his body, flowing off of him like water.

Dailon, his body torn apart from the bites, slowly climbed to his feet, his eyes flashing with an eerie light. His skull had nearly been shattered completely, and he had lost all semblance of sanity. He only kept howling: "Sivis! Sivis! Sivis…"

Conning and Flora reattached their heads to their bodies, their faces showing smug grins.

As Blood Servants personally transformed by the figure, they were among the strongest of their kind.

However, Dailon, as the head of the family, possessed immense strength, and even after being transformed, his power could still influence their position within the Blood Servants' hierarchy.

Without hesitation, the two of them crushed Dailon's skull, turning him into a subpar Blood Servant—one with great power but no intellect, completely under their control.

At this point, the Daister family had been utterly destroyed!

Most of the family had been turned into Blood Servants, with only Sivis, who had yet to return, and Reina, who was guarding the warehouse, managing to escape the transformation.

After dealing with the family head Dailon, Conning and Flora let out low growls. A swarm of zombies gathered around them, slowly encircling them, forming an army of dozens of Blood Servants, all of whom were at least bronze-level five or higher!

Reina watched this horrifying scene, her body trembling uncontrollably, a reaction born of instinctive fear.

Even so, the young maid stubbornly stood her ground in front of the warehouse door, unwilling to back down.

Conning and Flora's eyes gleamed with cruel intent, and in a sinister tone, they spoke, "Don't worry, Reina. Soon it will be Sivis's turn. He'll definitely return to the family!"

"He was seen in the light screen. He's coming back, and it's all to save you!"

"That's right, he came back to save you. He'll fall right into our trap, and be transformed into a Blood Servant just like us! You should be happy!"

"Reina, your master will be like us now! He'll get to experience the agony of a life worse than death."

Even with most of their intellect gone, Conning and Flora still harbored deep hatred for Sivis.

They continued to pierce Reina with cruel words, "Thanks to your loyalty, if you weren't so devoted, Sivis wouldn't care about you this much. After realizing he was betrayed, he'll be even more desperate to come back!"

"Thank you, Reina. We'll finally make Sivis feel what true pain is!"

As they spoke, the stench of decay emanated from their bodies, chunks of rotten flesh falling off.

The smiles on Conning and Flora's faces were chilling!

No need for further words—Sivis was finished!

Under the figure's arrangement, Conning and Flora knew exactly how terrifying this army of Blood Servants was.

Even a silver-level powerhouse would have a high chance of failure.

If someone was at the early stages of silver, just entering the extraordinary realm, they might be able to crush a single bronze-level opponent. But this horde of bronze-level Blood Servants, with no fear of death, still posed a significant threat even to silver-level individuals.

Moreover, Conning and Flora had been granted the power of plague directly from the Blood Clan. The other Blood Servants in the Daister family were only second-generation servants.

They possessed an infectious power that even silver-level individuals could not resist!

This was the terrifying nature of the Blood Clan, once one of the Evil Gods, the exclusive race of the God of Blood Sea! The only power capable of effectively suppressing them was the Holy Light controlled by the Church.

This was an almost invincible race!

They were listed among the descendants of the gods!

Moreover, even the Holy Light couldn't heal the Blood Servants. Only the purest form of Holy Light could slow or temporarily halt the infection progress when the Blood Servants hadn't been completely transformed.

As for Sivis, not only did he lack silver-level strength, even if he were silver-level, without prior knowledge of the Blood Servants' existence, he would still return to what he once believed was a relatively safe family.

As long as he was ambushed and a wound was inflicted, it was game over. Furthermore, within the Church, there were almost no individuals capable of cultivating the most refined form of Holy Light. Even if Sivis sought help from the silver-level priest in the city, he couldn't save himself.

This was a situation where death was inevitable!

Reina realized this as well, but strangely, she wasn't afraid.

The young maid felt a chill running down her spine, not because of the situation, but because of the terrifying scene with countless zombies surrounding her.

However, Reina's response only seemed to excite Conning and Flora even more.

As Blood Servants, they had suffered immense pain and torment. Only by exacting revenge on Sivis and watching him fall into the abyss could they experience a perverse sense of pleasure!

"Once Sivis becomes a Blood Servant, he will obey the Blood Clan's orders without question. After that, what's the use of your loyalty?" Flora's eyes flashed with venom.

"Then, let Sivis personally turn you into a Blood Servant. That scene is sure to be interesting."

Watching Reina tremble more and more, on the brink of collapse.

The two laughed wildly.

However, just then, a soft yet abrupt laugh interrupted their mocking.

It was Reina herself who had smiled.

Conning and Flora froze, staring at her. They thought the young maid had gone mad from extreme fear.

Everything Reina had done up until now, from negotiating with the mysterious figure to standing guard at the warehouse, had been to protect Sivis.

Now that all hope was shattered, a mental collapse seemed "reasonable."

But Reina's eyes held an unusual calmness.

Her earlier trembling and unease had come from a natural fear of zombie-like creatures, but when that fear reached its peak, Reina had found peace. It was as though she had made a certain decision.

The young maid's trembling abruptly stopped.

"You think I've gone mad?" Reina's voice was clear and firm.

Conning and Flora, somewhat disappointed, didn't reduce their malice at all.

Around them, the screams of Daister family members who had been infected echoed relentlessly. Stray servants and family members who had been out were being hunted down and transformed by roaming Blood Servants. The entire family estate resembled a grim, hellish place.

But Reina's lips curled into a faint, relaxed smile as she calmly withdrew the alchemical explosives into her skirt. She straightened her back, her eyes flashing with pride and determination. "You're safe now, young master."

She spoke directly, and her words stunned Conning and Flora into silence.

"What do you mean by 'finally safe'?" Did Reina really go mad because of them?

At this thought, an inexplicable sense of satisfaction arose within the two of them.

Physical torment alone was far from enough—they longed to completely shatter the spirits of Sivis and those around him. It was that same twisted sense of gratification, that dark pleasure, one would feel after destroying a fortress.

The two Blood Servants became even more excited, their eyes gleaming with malicious joy.

Just then, they saw Reina suddenly dart forward, charging straight ahead.

Previously, the family head, Dailon, had desperately attacked the young maid, and now a number of Blood Servants had gathered around them.

These Blood Servants growled lowly, their eyes empty and blank, with only an innate hatred and aggressiveness toward the living.

Reina's sudden movement caused even the two remaining Blood Servants, who still held onto a semblance of rationality, to freeze for a moment in confusion.

"What is she doing? Is she trying to die?"

Due to the constraints of the slave contract, Reina was unable to cultivate and was nothing more than an ordinary maid.

If she confronted these Blood Servants head-on, it would undoubtedly be a death sentence.

The next moment, the corners of their mouths curled into expressions of mockery and excitement. "Well, this saves us some trouble."

Conning and Flora had been under pressure—they had to complete the task the mysterious figure had given them, to hand over the item in the warehouse.

If they failed…

It was likely that their fate would be even worse than becoming Blood Servants.

If Reina actively came to die, they could kill her, and no one would be left to detonate the alchemical bomb. The item could be directly obtained. At that point, the mysterious figure would probably no longer care about the Daister family's situation. Then, the two of them could do whatever they wanted with Sivis—torture him however they pleased.

With this thought in mind, the excitement in Conning and Flora's eyes deepened. They even gleefully shouted, "Kill her!"

Compared to torturing Reina, they thought torturing Sivis would be much more "cost-effective."

Unable to resist, they mocked her aloud: "You don't think that if you die, Sivis will just give up, do you?"

"If you die, Sivis will just go mad!"

"Stop dreaming, Reina!"

"This works out well too. When Sivis returns, he'll see your corpse. The look on his face will be so interesting!"
