Liqun dumbfoundedly stared, pointing at the cup in the hands of the World's Will, "Wait, didn't I hide that inside my wardrobe? How do you..."
It indifferently threw the cup into the trash, "That's because your parents have already begun cleaning up your prized possessions, since your funeral's already over."
Upon hearing it, Liqun's face turned deathly pale. Cold sweat began to drip, wetting his body within mere moments.
In the past, Liqun saw someone selling a service, that promised to destroy every item the purchasee wished to be secreted away once they pass on. Back then, it was priced at a whopping 888 dollars, which Liqun deemed to be too expensive, to the point where he sneered at the uselessness of such a service.
As for Liqun's feelings right now — regret. Losing his money was one thing, but losing his dignity? Liqun did not even dare to think. What if his parents, who wished to see the last traces of their son before he truly vanishes from the world, accidentally opened his search history. That frightening thought left Liqun wishing he could start over again.
As if reading his thoughts, It consoled, "No need to worry, the moment you died, I deleted all of your search history."
With a 'smack' sound, Liqun was already clinging onto It's thighs, shedding grateful tears, "Godfather! I've already demanded so much of you, yet never once said thank you." Afterall, helping Liqun preserve his innocence in the mortal world, was nothing short of a life altering grace.
It swung its legs back and forth, trying to get Liqun off his thighs to no avail. It could only wave It's hands with helplessness, sending Liqun's consciousness back to his body, "It's about time you went back, if there's anything, just ask the system for help, don't count on me to help you with every problem. After all, I can't exert my authority in a foreign world."
Liqun felt like he was thrown into a washing machine, as if the entire world was spinning around him.
"You#%¥%% ... ¥", Liqun paid his respects to the World's Will.
Choosing to ignore the words that were blocked by the filter that came out of Liqun's mouth, furrowing It's brows, softly sighing, "You must hurry, there isn't much time left.". However, these words were to reach Liqun's ears.
Upon returning to his body, Liqun felt his head resting against a soft, yet firm and bouncy place. 'Is it someone's thighs?', he assessed.
"Wait... don't tell me it's Elysia's?" Liqun's thoughts started to drift off inappropriately. "Forget resting my head on it, even just getting a whiff of it would probably add years to my life!"
However, Liqun detected a very familiar scent, one that he seems to have encountered before, one that smelled like disinfector... wait, disinfector? Liqun immediately opened his eyes, as Doctor Romani appeared before his vision. Liqun immediately got up and retreated away from him, putting up an indifferent front. But deep-down feeling as if he had been sullied.
Seeing that Liqun had woken up, Romani — who was quite excited, began incessantly speaking, "Although I know that summoning such a strong heroic spirit from a civilization before the age of gods is exciting and all, but there's no need to faint from joy, did you know, when we saw you fainting..." tuning out from the rest of Romani's words, Liqun focused on the most important point.
"From a civilization that existed before the age of gods? What was it like?", Liqun doubtfully asked.
"Hmm, the amnesia took even this away?", looking at Liqun's confused expression, Romani decided to re-educate Liqun on what was universally known amongst every single magus.
"During the age of gods, there existed a civilization of humans, which legends say that the stronger members of this civilization possessed a might nearing or even surpassing that of the gods themselves. However, it is said that due to the jealousy of many towards strength, a beast that was capable of standing against even the mightiest in that era was born, but whether it came from beyond the skies, or originated on this very land itself, is unknown.
The previous civilization was annihilated in an instant, its traces wiped clean from existence. Leaving only scattered fragments of such a legend. Under the influence of the passing passage of time, humans again emerged, Ether stirred once more, and with it, the Age of Gods began.
Chaldea's former director, Marisbury Animusphere, founded the organization out of fear; that the very beast who destroyed such an ancient civilization might one day return." Romani recounted all that he knew.
'Really? So, this is the melding of worlds, that story from before fused with the world and now, the legend of the 13 Flame Chasers has materialized them as heroic spirits, which allowed me to summon Elysia huh?'
Liqun let out a sighed inwardly. The world as of now has not completely merged with that of Honkai's yet. After these two worlds fuse, the possible Land of Steel scenario could become the events of Honkai Impact. Oh well, let's take a look at my golden finger first.
Liqun looked at the system bestowed upon him by the World's Will, showing a screen that recorded down his parameters.
True Name: Cheng Li Qun
STR: F- (Almost slightly stronger than an average human)
END: F- (If this wasn't the lowest rank, guess how much it'd be)
AGI: F- (In a crisis, you should be able to outrun a dog that wants to bite you?)
MGI: F- (Muggle, don't think about it anymore)
LCK: A+ (Being chosen to become the system's host already demonstrates your luck)
NP: Nil
Skills: Nil
Servant: Nil
Overall evaluation: A nobody
Liqun was quite puzzled, didn't he just summon Elysia? Why was the 'servant' attribute empty? He tried asking the system.
Where's my servant? Is it you, the mentally under-developed AI, who swallowed it?" Liqun's remark fully embodied the qualities of a troll. If one day A.I. truly took over the world, the first person who would die would surely be this damned guy.
'Ding! Detected low-IQ question from the host.
Currently switching AI personality to Anti-Dumb mode'
Hello! After scanning the host thoroughly, there appears to be no record of you forming any contract with a servant. (Note: Servants summoned with the FATE system may not necessarily be directly contracted with you)
If you're satisfied with my answer, please leave me a 5-star review!
P.S. If you don't leave a good review... then may endless praise rain upon you dear host~'
Looking at the system's pointed reply, Liqun suspected that it was the World's Will who had personally replied to him, having never encountered an AI who insult its user.
After attempting to engage with the AI using a series of parent related 'greetings', Liqun was met with complete silence, having gotten nowhere, Liqun could only disheartenedly rub his nose, and awkwardly ask Romani about Elysia's whereabouts.
Liqun, who was following the directions given to him by Romani, arrived at Chaldea's inner entrance.
There sat, Elysia. Her knees huddled to her chest, the swirling snow — which was bitingly cold — seemed to not even have the slightest effect on her. Though, her breathtaking face possessed an expression that did not deserve to exist on it; one of worry.
The bone chilling wind stabbed into Liqun —who was lightly dressed — like a million needles. Shivering, Liqun couldn't help but let out, "How cold..."
Noticing Liqun's presence, Elysia addressed him with a slight smile, weakly waving her hands back and forth as if beckoning Liqun to come.
"So you finally woke up, have you come here to admire such a beautiful world as well?"
Liqun traced towards the direction in which Elysia was staring off into, yet he — being an ordinary person — could not penetrate the depths of snow billowing in the distance. Leaving only the option to offer a weak response.
"Yeah... this world is quite beautiful isn't it"
"Pfft", Liqun's words aroused Elysia's laughter, her pink eyes bending into crescents as the corners of her mouth lifted, revealing the perfect smile.
She muffled her mouth, her chest lightly heaving up and down, her stifled laughter clear and melodious; as if a small petite bell was being rung, reverberating throughout the area — a pleasant experience for the ears. Her slight laugh gradually grew, clutching her stomach as if she could barely control it.
"You... hihi, couldn't actually... hihi, see anything...", she let out sporadically in-between her fits of laughter.
Caught off guard, Liqun couldn't prevent a hint of embarrassment from tinting his face.
Awkwardly, he tried to double down and forced out, " W-Who says so... This world truly is quite beautiful, okay?"
Upon hearing his words, the laughter borne of amusement occupying her face had suddenly morphed into one of concern, which were betrayed by the shape of her pink eyes.
She gently closed her eyes, her long lashes subtly twitching. Even when her eyebrows were knit, Liqun; admiring her visage, still felt that she appeared very cute, "So this is the beauty of the 2D-world...", Liqun thought to himself, a quiet sense of awe welling up inside him.
"You're right, this world is too beautiful to just let it be destroyed. So are you here to form a contract with me? I hope that with my strength, I will be able to help you.", Elysia extended her hand towards Liqun, awaiting her master's response
Liqun, rooted to the ground, remained unresponsive for a few moments, as if steeling his conviction. He stepped forwards, and clasped her hand.
With unwavering determination, he declared:
"I- No. We, we will definitely save this world."
They firmly grasped each other's hands, as if symbolizing the connection that was forming between their hearts, a dazzling radiance emanated from the pair.
And so, the contract has been sealed.
