There are already thousands of fics with this type of script that can be combined with several works, but unfortunately not with Tokyo Ghoul.
Tokyo Ghoul has a huge lack of quality or even original fanfics, even though it has such a large fan base and this is due to the complexity of the work, which makes a point of character development, and not a poorly done slow and gradual way, and even in the few fics that this work has compared to others, the script is always the same,or it's about a ship that is mostly poorly developed or a character that is placed in the work as the strongest or something like that (I'm not discrediting these works, I know they are very good, my problem is that they are always generic and repetitive.
And a large part of the fic, like the anime, always takes place in fights or already turbulent scenarios.
I wanted to make a fic from the perspective of a character that would be considered secondary, he is not the strongest nor the most intellectual, and probably won't have anything special, he is a person common just like us, carrying their personality traits, traumas and life experiences that changed him, In reality, his biggest concern was blood and he studies medicine, but he faced fear because of the pressure of making his mother proud.
How many people don't do this in their daily lives? Even you, the reader, may be in this situation, and that's where the beauty of what I'm trying to do comes in.
In the midst of so much chaos, a person who just wants to live life, and who, due to a moment of kindness, ended up entering the edge of the world where he shouldn't have, but instead of wanting to see how far the bottom of the hole is. He looked at the exit and didn't want to know what was inside.
What I'm saying is that a normal person wouldn't go out trying to enter the world that exists between the CCG and the Ghouls, so it will be a story that will have a confrontation involving the protagonist,, but it won't be limited to just that.
