Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Unique Talent

Chapter 14: Unique Talent

'I want to form a bond with Sophie.'

[Ding! You have formed a bond with Sophie Castria.]

'Share her affinity, talent, and bloodline.'

[Ding! Applying the x10,000 effect.]

— You have gained the affinity: Lightning (SSS Rank).

— You have gained the talent: Ultimate Fusion (EX - Unique).

— You have gained the bloodline: Child of Mana.

As the notifications chimed, something erupted within Noah.

A force surged through his veins—ancient, powerful, boundless.

His body cracked with lightning, arcs of violet and silver roaring around him for a fleeting moment—then vanishing as if they had never existed.

His soul trembled.

Something awakened.

The same sensation he had felt when he first gained Sovereign of Ice.

And then—

The mana in the air shifted.

It recognized him. Embraced him.

The temperature plummeted, frost creeping across the walls, and ice mana surged toward him, flowing into his core. It welcomed him, like a mother embracing her child. Warm. Comforting. Safe.

His mana core expanded, its once-glacial surface refining itself to perfection. The frost inside it grew sharper, denser, more real.

A thin, icy mist drifted from his skin.

But before he could fully grasp the change—

The mana shifted again.

This time, lightning.

A violent storm of electricity swirled around him before crashing into his body, flooding his dantian. The crackling energy clashed with the ice, twisting and writhing in resistance.

A storm raged within him—lightning and ice, two opposing forces, fighting for dominance.

Noah gritted his teeth.

Burning. Freezing. His entire being strained to contain both elements, the pain searing through him like a thousand blades.

Minutes passed.

And then—

Balance.

The storm settled.

The ice and lightning no longer clashed—they coexisted.

A perfect equilibrium.

Noah had ascended to D Rank.

He exhaled, his breath visible in the chilled and electric air.

This wasn't just a rank-up. His very existence had changed.

And just as he was adjusting to the overwhelming power coursing through him—

{Ding! Ding! Ding!}

{EXCEPTIONAL!!}

{Noah Weaverheart, you are the first being in the world of Laeh to obtain an EX-Rank Unique Talent.}

{Your future is boundless.}

{Your potential is limitless.}

{New Title Obtained: Limitless.}

{Your existence has been greatly strengthened.}

{Existence Level: 350}

{Next Threshold: 500}

Noah stood still, processing the message.

An EX-Rank Unique Talent?

So SSS wasn't the limit.

He blinked, then let out a low chuckle.

"I guess it makes sense. I've only read up to chapter 50… There's bound to be things I don't know yet."

But more importantly—

His existence level was already close to the first threshold.

That fast?

Then again… he wasn't exactly normal. Three titles in a single month, two of them high-level.

He smirked.

'System, show my profile.'

Noah felt a rush of pride.

'This is just the beginning.'

'Show me my title skills.'

The Reincarnator

— Your soul is unique. Given the right conditions, you can awaken the affinities of Space and Time.

— You can revive once per month, as long as your soul remains intact.

The Schemer

— Your mind is sharpened, and your facial control is exceptional. Seeing through you is close to impossible. Your words will be more easily believed.

Limitless

— You have no limit.

Noah frowned.

"…That's it?"

He rubbed his chin, expecting something more. A detailed explanation, maybe an ability.

But instead—just one sentence.

'You have no limit.'

He shook his head. No need to overthink it. The meaning would reveal itself in time.

Testing his newfound power, he snapped his fingers.

A shard of ice formed instantly. The process is more smooth and rapid.

But when he tried to summon lightning, only a small spark flickered across his fingertips.

As expected.

To wield an affinity, one needed skills.

Sophie had the same problem—she had Lightning Affinity, but her talent wasn't lightning-based.

That meant she either had to create lightning-based skills herself—or obtain them.

Dungeons contained skill books, and noble families passed down unique techniques of their own.

They are called acquired skills.

Acquired Skills, unlike Title or Talent Skills, ranged from E to SSS Rank.

Noah smirked sharply.

'System, does Sophie have a lightning-based skill?'

[Yes.]

'Share it.'

[Ding! Applying the x10,000 effect.]

— You have obtained the skill: Lightning Manipulation (SSS Rank).

Instantly, knowledge flooded his mind.

He understood lightning. Its chaos, its volatility, its nature. How to control it. Shape it. Wield it.

A few seconds later, he opened his palm.

Lightning crackled.

Chaotic. Unstable.

He focused, directing the energy.

A sphere of electricity took shape.

It flickered wildly, arcs of energy snapping in every direction. But after a few minutes of practice, the instability faded.

Still—mastery would take time.

"I should refrain from sharing too many things at once," he muttered. "If I spread myself too thin, I'll master nothing."

The lightning faded as he closed his fist.

'Show me my new talent.'

[Ultimate Fusion: A unique talent with only one skill. No one else can obtain this talent unless you die.]

Skill:

Fusion: You can fuse anything and obtain something better. Bloodlines, talents, skills, resources, physiques—even humans and beasts. Anything. As long as you have the mana necessary for the fusion.

Noah stared at the screen, stunned.

And then—he burst out laughing.

"This is madness."

A cheat skill.

An ability so broken it was almost absurd. Is this how uniques skills are ?

Noah smirked. Already planning how to acquire them.

With this—his potential was truly limitless.

He turned toward the window, gazing at the distant horizon.

'Now… it's time to fix my relationship with Empress Emily.'

It had been rushed before. But now? He had time. He could reset the board.

And after that—dungeons.

If he wanted to reach C-Rank before entering the academy in three years, he needed experience.

Then again…

With the Child of Mana bloodline, I might even reach B-Rank.

Noah smiled.

"Ester."

His shadow stirred.

From the darkness, a figure emerged.

Ester, his loyal shadow, knelt before him.

"Inform the Empress that I wish to meet her for a discussion before their departure."

Ester bowed. "Understood, Master."
