Chapter 1 - Entering the apocalypse

As the door creaked open, i saw something which I had hoped not to see.

A creature with green skin and a small body stared at me with its chilling mocking eyes.. On its face a slight grin rested, as it looked at me in a way which screamed

"I FOUND YOU!"

My body trembled in fear as the all teaching fear held me in a warm embrace.

...

7:36 Am.

The colours of the sky twisted and swirled, the colors of red seemingly showing in the distance.

On the ground, various commercial transport vehicles moved as well as people- male and female. School children jumped joyfully, their parents holding their little hands as they walked to school. Teenagers walked with their peers, wearing some school uniforms and of course working adults all dressed in professional work clothing walked as well.

At this point in time no one knew what was coming.

Len Moore stood right at the bus station, a phone on his right hand as he waited for his bus. He swiped through the phone, his eyes reading all the latest news articles online.

"THE SWIRLING SKY. HOW LONG WILL THIS CONTINUE?– AHD news

"THE WORLD SKYS ARE ALL CURRENTLY IN THE SAME STATE. IS THIS A NATURAL DISASTER OR SOMETHING DIFFERENT? – BBC NEWS.

"WORLD LEADERS ARE CURRENTLY HOLDING A CONFERENCE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON– FULL COVERAGE

Len read all of this information, his face unreadable. He was a young man, currently aged 23 with raven black hair as well as eyes.

He had a quite lean body, with only a few muscles identifiable on them and right now he was wearing a full on black suit, a tie and a black shoe.

The world had currently been In this same state for the last seven days, but here he was looking for a bus to go to work.

It was annoying that he had to go, but what could he do. He was just a normal average person in this world without any power or strength to do anything about it.

It was quite a depressing thing to think about but what could he do.

"Hah"

With a sigh, len turned off his phone and put it in his trouser pocket. He was done reading the articles and even if more were to come, it would still be the same average news.

With a glance, len looked at the road.

Various cars at the other side of the road were now, stuck in traffic. These cars were each locked, unable to move past the other like a chain. They stretched out as far as the eye could see.

Curious len wondered what caused it.

He was just about to step out from the roof of the bus stop to try and understand, when he suddenly heard something.

A scream!

A loud almost femalish scream suddenly attacked lens ear drums, stunning him for a moment.

He immediately, turned his head to his right, his senses telling that was were it came from

There he saw it.

Countless people, each one running towards him as if their life depended on it.

On their face, the meaning of fear, shock and horror was embedded.

Instinctively the various people around len also questioned what was happening, but before they could even process a thing.

Slash!

A man- probably aged 53 wearing a business suit was decapitated. His head fell of his body as it fell to the concrete floor, his expression still the same.

Blood spurted out of the now headless body, as his body slumped unto the concrete floor hard.

Shock!

It was unreal. What was this?. A man getting decapitated infront of a group of average individuals. All their body screamed with fear.

Len in particular stood still. His mind still processing what was happening.

"What the f**k" his mind screamed. Someone had just died right in front of him. It was too unreal, too..too unreal

Then instantly a creature, green skinned, short as well as muscular wearing tattered rags called clothes stood. On it's right hand, a knife quite rusty stained with the beauty of the blood rested, its face having the most mocking grin.

"Hehehehe"

Without any thought, every body around him ran. They ran back from where they came, their screams filling the air.

Some didn't hold back, their mouth open and their hands on their head as If running mad.

It was at this moment len knew what happens during desperate times.

Len just like the crowd, ran too.

His eyes scarcely seeing the creature which had just killed the man. But his mind filled. He knew what that was.

Like a prey, he ran. Ran for his life uncaringly. The only thought which filled him was RUN.

He ran as fast as he could, his boots hitting the hard concrete floor, then he heard it– too close.

Stab!

A woman at his left had been stabbed. Her back gushing out thick red blood. She immediately collapsed to the ground, as she tried to get up, but.....

It was too late.

Stab! Stab! Stab! Stab! Stab!

Her body was stabbed repeatedly by the creature as she screamed desperately, her eyes wide in despair.

The creature hearing such screams didn't even think of stopping, rather it smiled and continued.

Len hearing this didn't even think of looking back rather he continued moving.... uncaringly.

Right now was not the time to play hero. He needed to survive no matter what.

But just as he said so, he saw something any average human could never ignore.

A kid, small, innocent and cute fell down from his mother's arm amidst the panic.

The child fell down to the floor, the wave of humans passing it not knowing the child was there.

Len saw it all. The mother constantly trying to reach the child as she stretched out her hand, human bodies pushing her back and the child who laid down on the floor, confused as to what was happening.

Lens heart cut into too, his breath increasing as his heart pressured him deeply to rescue the child while his brain pressured him to run away, for him to survive.

It was a battle between rationality and emotion, but before he could even get a chance to decide.

Tear!

The young child was stabbed furiously by one of the creatures blade, ripping him apart instantly.

Blood, intestine, livers and others all poured down unto ground as the goblin smiled happily.

"Hehehehe."
