Chapter 17 - Death

Lucas was boiling with anger from the threat Leon gave him, his fist clenched and he slowly started moving towards him. Alexia noticed it and said from her chair in her calm tone, "Lucas, calm down. Fighting a junior just because he's cocky isn't professional."

Lucas said without looking at her, "President... sorry." Then he lunged forward at Leon at full speed. His speed made the meeting room's walls shake and his punch was about to erase Leon from existence and destroy the whole room along with the other rooms.

Suddenly, just before his punch could touch Leon's face, Alexia stopped it by putting her hand in the way—absorbing most of the pressure before it could reach Leon. Lucas was shocked and quickly pulled his fist back. "S-Sorry, President... I-I didn't know…" he said, looking guilty.

Alexia placed a hand on his shoulder and said in her usual cold tone, "The council is waiting for us." She swept her hair out of her face, eyes locked on Leon. "Try being sincere, kid."

Leon just smiled.

Alexia turned and walked out, Lucas followed behind her and the two left the meeting room.

Leon was left alone there.

Leon then fell back and sat down, leaning against the meeting room wall. His nose started bleeding. He sighed, "Thank God Miss Alexia stopped that punch, otherwise I'd be dead. But at least I managed to stop the bleeding back then or it would've been mortifying. Still… Miss Alexia is so cool. She didn't even flinch after taking that kind of force—something that could've erased me. I'm so damn weak… just a big talker."

He smiled, looking up at the ceiling.

Then, someone handed him a handkerchief. The voice was female—sweet and extremely pleasant.

"Here, wipe the blood."

"Hmm, thank you for your generosity," he said while still looking at the ceiling. He took the handkerchief and wiped the blood from his nose then handed it back without even realizing what had just happened.

A moment passed before it hit him.

"Hmm... after Miss Alexia and Boiled Egg left, I should be alone, so..."

His eyes widened. He looked to his side—and saw a woman who looked to be in her mid-20s. She was wearing a brown robe, her hair hidden beneath it. Her eyes were unusually shaped but in a beautiful way—one was black, the other white. Her face looked divine and her figure was mature.

Leon quickly backed off and said, "Who the hell are you?!"

He tried to look threatening, pointing a stick at her like it was a sword.

"From where you got this stick?" She asked.

"You don't need to know intruder!" Said Leon, still pointing that stick at her.

"But you don't have to do that. I'm not here to hurt you," she said with a chuckle.

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"Then it's ok."

He lowered his so-called stick sword. You trusted me that EASILY? the woman thought to herself, surprised. Then she walked over and sat down, leaning against the wall. She patted the spot beside her and said, "Come sit here."

Leon paused for a second then threw his stick at the spot she pointed to—just to check if it was a trap. "You don't trust me? I'm not going to poison you!" the woman said then looked away with a pout. Leon sat beside her anyway, glanced at her pouting face and said, "Hmm, you look so cute when you pout. Just like my little sister."

The woman was stunned for a second, then looked at him without saying a word.

Silence...

Silence...

Silence...

"Incestuous," she finally said.

"YOU TOOK THAT LONG JUST TO SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT?!" Leon yelled at her.

He Paused and takes a deep breath...then,

"AND I'M NOT OBSESSED WITH MY SISTER, I JUST STATED A FACT!"

The woman was startled by his outburst. Leon then calmed himself and asked, "So, who are you?"

The woman looked down, then at him. "I'm Ashwarya," she said with a smile.

"I'm Leon, a first-year student here at EHHS," he replied, smiling back.

Ashwarya then asked, "Leon, can I ask you a favor?"

"Go on!" said Leon.

"Have you seen this guy?" She showed him a picture of a man in a strange mask, holding a scythe, dressed in a black robe—the same guy Leon had seen in his dreams.

"His name is... Death. An assassin," said Ashwarya.

Leon looked at the picture and realized it was the same Death guy from his dreams. But instead he said, "How lame. He must be a big talker. Who names themselves something that cringe?"

"Have you seen this guy?" Ashwarya asked again.

"No," replied Leon.

"Okay," she said, standing up.

"But why are you searching for an assassin?" Like I care... "but anyway, why ask me? Do I look like some big shot with a thousand connections?"

Ashwarya chuckled and stepped in front of him. She looked down and said, "I just found your aura similar to this Death, so I thought you might know him."

"Can I also ask you a favor?" said Leon.

"Yes, of course," she replied with curiosity.

"Back off, you're too close. I can't even see your face because of your chest," he said, pointing straight at her chest.

She quickly covered her chest with both hands, blushing hard. "Y-You damn pervert! Such a pervert for a kid!"

She slowly backed off, trying to calm herself down then started walking away. But just before exiting, she glanced back at Leon and said, blushing, "A-and don't do that with another girl. It's embarrassing."

"Huh? What?" Leon replied, looking genuinely confused.

She blushed even harder. "L-like… you pointed out m-m-my chest!"

"Don't do that with any other girls, idiot..." she muttered. Her "idiot" didn't have any anger or hate in it—more like an awkward scolding.

Then she took a deep breath, calmed herself and said, "And Death… he's not a lame guy. He is…"
