Lila and Evelyn entered their room to freshen up from all the activities and touring round the market square has done to them.
While Evelyn was in the bathroom having a shower, Lila had quickly bent down under the bed to pull out the wooden box. She placed the wooden box on the bed and opened it letting the snake head to pop out.
The snake hiss softly as Lila was rubbing it's head.
"Soon you will soon be free from this box when my family accepts you". She whispered softly as if the snake was a human that she can communicate to. She knew deep down in her heart, her parents object to them having a snake in their house and she will be forced to hide the snake again, which she didn't want that to happen.
She kept massaging the snake head until the snake close it's eyes to sleep. Once it was asleep, Lila kept it back and covered the wooden box before putting it back under the bed for safety.
"Atleast you are safe for now, I will change your location too". She whispered and stood up, going straight to the bathroom to join Evelyn to have a shower.
After their shower, the two girls wore their pyjamas before heading to the dinning room to join their parents for a sumptuous dinner prepared by their mum.
In that same hut where Louisa had been hiding away from the bright sunlight, she came out removing her hood as the sky was dark grey. She took the cutlass and shovel and began walk faster to the woods. After walking a few miles, she appeared in front of a tree. It was a mango tree, but strangely it wasn't mango fruits that were there. Maybe it's her imagination, she slowly bent down and began using that shovel to pack the sand away.
Once she was done packing the same, she threw away the shovel and the cutlass when she noticed the place where she has hidden her daughter was empty. Her heart clenched tightly as tears welled up in her eyes ready to burst.
Isla, where are you? Her mother cried silently.
Mama! A voice spoke. It was. A female voice and slowly and carefully, Louisa turned to see her daughter standing few inches away from her.
Isla, my child. Her mother stretched her hands for her daughter to run and jump into her embrace like a child.
Louisa hugged her daughter backing caressing her back in a gentle motherly manner.
I miss you so much mama, thank you for fulfilling your promise. Isla said pulling out.
It's nothing child. This current king will accept you into the castle. Her mother said with a smile on her face.
Thank you mum. Mum, by the way,I heard a rumor that the previous royal family have a child with silver eyes. Is that true? She asked with a curious gaze.
How did you know? Her mother asked alarmed. She knew the current royal family is king Lachlan the elder brother of the younger king who was brutally killed by his own brother cause of the crown.
I heard some humans from afar saying it. They even said the silver eyes man is ALIVE. She said wide eye.
Does that mean, the main royal bloodline isn't fully dead but alive and are hard to find? Isla asked suddenly intruige.
Louisa felt constricted as she didn't know what to say. Even she herself is confused about this whole mysterious silver eyes man, especially when King Lachlan is so hellbent on releasing the chained man and the way Thomas had carried the sack bag of the chained man they had released. If truly what her daughter is asking or suddenly find interest in ends up turning out to be true, she knew it will be a huge disaster as the zeal to become the next Queen of Valtenia kingdom will slowly slip away from her hands like it never existed. And that's her greatest fear which she will try as much as possible to avoid.
"Mama, what are you thinking about? You look lost?" Isla shook her mother's hands to jolt her back to reality. Louisa shook her head and smiled.
Nothing child, but listen to me. Don't bring up the topic of the silver eyes man in the castle. Her mother warned.
No problem mum. Let's go. It's getting late. She said and her mother raised her eyebrows in confusion.
"Why in haste? Ain't you a vampire?" Her mother questioned and Isla chuckled.
I need to see how the castle looks like, it's been such a very long time since I last saw the castle. She winked at her mother.
Her mother gave a suspicious look before asking, have you been drinking human blood?
Isla bit her bottom lip hard as she fiddle with her skirts.
I'm sorry mama. It was too tempting, it's just that their blood taste different and sweet. She confessed.
Just be careful, you know the law of the kingdom, vampires are not allowed to drink humans blood. Her mother added and Isla smooed before rubbing her soft hair. Her red eyes shone brightly under the dark sky before asking,
"How is father? ! "
He is fine. I haven't told him I want to bring you back to the castle. I wanted to use it as a surprise for him. Her mother said with a smile.
Alright then, let's go. She said and Louisa nodded before both women leaped high in the sky to go back to the castle.
In Mr Fraser house,
The family of four were having a sweet dinner when Mr Fraser told his wife what and happened to him in the early hours of the morning, of how he came across a strange vampire lady who had asked for his cutlass and shovel.
She looks different, I was thinking maybe she is from the royal castle, cause she doesn't look like a normal vampire. He said calmly as his mind went back to what happened in the early hours of the morning.
