The selection process lasted the entire morning. Akio looked at the three remaining children in front of him and nodded slightly.

Six-year-old Uzumaki Izuko had exceptional learning ability, with chakra attributes of Wind and Fire, making her a perfect candidate to learn Akio's various jutsu. Eight-year-old Uzumaki Jitou, a boy, possessed remarkable perseverance compared to his peers. Akio planned to train him in taijutsu, hoping to claim naming rights for a new technique—perhaps changing the "Leaf Hurricane" to the "Uzumaki Hurricane"...

As for the last one, she was eleven-year-old Uzumaki Nanako. Akio hadn't expected that despite her carefree demeanor, she managed to correctly answer four out of five challenging logic puzzles. The only one she got wrong was a lateral-thinking question. Akio decided to teach her sealing techniques, as they required strong logical reasoning skills rather than brute force or reflexes.

"Very well. From today onward, you are the first class of the First Generation of Konoha!" Akio announced with a confident fist pump and a smile.

"First Generation? First Class?" Nanako asked, puzzled.

"Is there a Second Class?" Jitou followed up.

"Akio Grandpa, what is Konoha?" Izuko questioned.

Akio ignored their inquiries.

"Just remember your identity as the first class of the First Generation of Konoha. The rest, you will learn in time."

"Now, it's time for you to learn some powerful jutsu!"

At the mention of powerful jutsu, the three children swallowed their questions and looked at him with anticipation, even Nanako.

"First, tell me what techniques you have already mastered so I can determine what to teach you."

"I only know the Three Basic Jutsu." Izuko spoke softly.

"That's already quite impressive. I'll teach you the rest." Akio nodded, chuckling to himself. If Naruto knew that a six-year-old girl had already mastered the Three Basic Jutsu, he might just want to die from embarrassment…

"I know the Three Basic Jutsu and a few basic Lightning Release techniques!" Eight-year-old Jitou declared proudly.

"Good, specializing in Lightning Release. I understand." Akio nodded. "Nanako, what about you?"

Nanako's face turned red. "I… only know the Three Basic Jutsu."

Akio chuckled but didn't discourage her.

"Next, I will teach you an advanced, secret technique…" Akio glanced at them, seeing their eager expressions. He continued, "Shuriken Throwing Technique!"

The moment their faces fell, Akio grinned mischievously.

"That was your first lesson. Until your fundamentals are solid, don't expect to learn flashy techniques!"

Akio dragged over three shuriken targets. "Watch. When you can reach this level, I'll teach you new jutsu." He then threw three shuriken simultaneously, each hitting the bullseye.

"Besides this, I will also teach each of you something special."

"Izuko, come here. The other two, practice shuriken throwing."

Akio led Izuko to a more open area. "Serpent—Ram—Monkey—Boar—Horse—Tiger. Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"

Seeing Izuko's delighted expression, Akio quickly dampened her enthusiasm. "I'm not teaching you the jutsu, just the hand signs. You're still too young, and your chakra reserves aren't enough. The Great Fireball Technique requires six hand seals, and you need to complete them within two seconds. Go home and practice."

Izuko pouted. "Understood, Akio Grandpa."

"Call me Sensei from now on! Now go practice shuriken throwing and send Jitou over."

"Understood, Sensei." Izuko whispered before calling Jitou over.

"Jitou, your perseverance is impressive, and you have a lot of potential in taijutsu. Aside from shuriken training, you need to start self-imposed taijutsu training."

"Also, I'll get the blacksmith to make some weighted gear for you later."

"Understood, Sensei!" Jitou scratched his head. "But what's self-imposed training?"

"It means imposing restrictions on yourself when facing a challenge—deliberately placing obstacles in your path, forcing yourself into a difficult position, and creating rules for yourself. Because of these restrictions, you will take your training seriously. If you fail, the rules will ensure strict discipline, allowing you to grow continuously."

Akio explained, "A great ninja once said this. Keep it in mind."

Jitou nodded, half-understanding. "Got it, Sensei!"

"Alright, go back to your training and send Nanako over."

Two minutes later, Nanako stood before Akio.

Akio looked at her and smiled. "I didn't expect you to have such good logical thinking. Answering four out of five questions correctly is impressive."

Nanako smiled sheepishly. "The first four were about water buckets, and I use them every day, so I knew the answers…"

"So that's why…" Akio's face darkened. He briefly considered sending her back.

"Whatever the reason, since you're my student now and struggle with jutsu learning, I'll teach you sealing techniques instead." Akio pulled out a scroll. "This contains the fundamentals of our clan's sealing arts. Study it and see if you can understand."

"For now, put it away and continue practicing shuriken throwing."

After individually guiding his three students, Akio sat on a rock, watching them practice.

The Fourth Training Ground wasn't exclusive to them; many other children were training there too. The eight kids eliminated that morning were still trying their best, hoping Akio would change his mind.

In addition to the children, several jonin and chunin responsible for training the clan's children were observing Akio's teachings. However, after watching for a while, they saw little of value.

Akio enjoyed this leisurely life for a whole week. The three students had gotten the hang of shuriken throwing, so he switched their targets to moving ones, giving them plenty to practice.

As for their individual lessons, only Jitou had started incorporating self-imposed limitations into his taijutsu training. The other two had made little progress. Naturally, learning hand seal speed and sealing techniques wasn't something that could be mastered in a short time, so Akio wasn't disappointed.

He had planned to continue his easygoing life, but a familiar string of characters interrupted his peace:

"Witness and drastically alter a side storyline in the Naruto world: The Twelve Guardian Ninja. Witness Points gained: 5 (*8) points."

A drastic change? Akio hadn't expected to earn a full 40 Witness Points this time.

He checked his status screen. Over the past few years, his accumulated Witness Points had reached 65.

"It's time to allocate points and verify my hypothesis!"
