Chapter 20: The Battle That Never Was

The airport had turned into a battlefield.

Captain America's team clashed against Iron Man's, both believing they were doing what was right. Steve fought for freedom. Tony fought for accountability.

And Alex?

Alex fought for neither.

Hovering high above the battlefield, his bioelectric signature cloaked, he remained unseen by all, watching in silence.

His golden eyes scanned the chaos, taking in the flying debris, the crumbling tarmac, the bursts of light from energy weapons. Yet, amidst all this destruction, his focus was locked onto one person.

Wanda Maximoff.

Her red energy flared violently, reflecting her inner turmoil. She wasn't fighting because she wanted to—she was forced into this.

Alex clenched his fists.

He wanted to end this conflict. Right now.

But he hesitated.

This wasn't his fight. He had promised himself that he wouldn't interfere unless—

Then it happened.

A car, sent flying through the air, was heading straight toward Tony Stark.

Alex flicked his fingers.

The vehicle's trajectory shifted slightly, missing Tony and instead crashing onto an empty section of the runway.

Wanda's eyes snapped up.

She felt it.

Her head turned, scanning the battlefield, her breath shallow. Then, she whispered:

"Alex…?"

The battle froze.

Steve, Tony, Natasha, Clint—everyone turned toward Wanda.

A second passed.

Then another.

And then—

Alex appeared.

Floating just a few feet off the ground, arms crossed, his usual confident smirk in place. His gaze locked onto Wanda, and his voice rang across the battlefield.

"Hi, wife. I missed you, wife."

Wanda's breath hitched. Her eyes shimmered with emotion.

"You… took Tony's side?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Alex's smirk vanished.

In a blink, he was right in front of her, standing close enough to feel her warmth. His hands cupped her face gently.

"I didn't take any side," he said softly. "I just wanted to make sure no one was injured. That's all."

Wanda bit her lip, her emotions overwhelming her.

"I'm sorry," Alex added.

Suddenly—

Blood.

A deep red stain spread across Wanda's shoulder.

Alex's mind went blank.

What happened?

Why is there blood?

There shouldn't be any blood here.

His heartbeat pounded in his ears.

Will I lose her?

No.

NO!

His body reacted instantly.

A barrier of high-speed rotating air erupted from his outstretched hand, surrounding everyone in a protective sphere. The battlefield vanished, the chaotic fight halted as the Avengers were sealed in safety.

He turned back to Wanda.

Her blood dripped onto his trembling hands.

Alex gritted his teeth. With a swift motion, he gently removed her jacket, exposing her wounded shoulder.

"Hold on, Wanda…"

His hands hovered over her wound, his fingers glowing faintly.

He attempted to control her cells, to speed up the healing process—but something pushed back.

A strange, invisible force inside Wanda rejected his ability.

Her powers…?

He clenched his fists. No time to think.

He needed help.

With one swift motion, he scooped Wanda into his arms and soared into the sky.

Before going he tracked the bullets trajectory and found a man with a sniper and he crushed the gun and made it blown up that man died on the spot..He knew that man very well the man who initiated the fight not cap or tony,a third party..anyone didn't notice anything unusual.....

Avengers Tower – A Few Minutes Later

Pepper Potts was reviewing reports when FRIDAY's voice interrupted her.

"Miss Potts, an unidentified object is approaching at high velocity—Mark 10."

Pepper frowned. "Mark 10?"

She glanced at the security feed—then her eyes widened.

A man was flying toward the tower at supersonic speed, carrying Wanda Maximoff in his arms.

And she was bleeding.

Pepper's heart dropped.

"FRIDAY, prepare the med bay! Now!"

The glass doors burst open as Alex flew in, landing gently inside. His clothes were stained with Wanda's blood, his face pale.

"She's injured," Alex said, his voice urgent.

Pepper didn't waste a second.

Doctors rushed in.

As they took Wanda from his arms, Alex reached out—his fingers trembling—but he let go.

He had to.

As the medical team carried Wanda away, Pepper finally asked, "Who the hell are you?"

Alex's golden eyes flickered, his voice firm.

"I'm Alex," he said.

"And Wanda is my future wife."
