Chapter 349 - The Antimeme Site

As Luo Shu had guessed, Site-41 was hidden somewhere in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Marion Wheeler eyed his "minivan" and said, "The trail ahead isn't fit for even a 4x4. Leave it here—we walk."

But Luo Shu needed the portable Scranton Reality Anchor embedded in the Transformer pickup.

So, under Marion's stunned gaze, the pickup reconfigured into a bipedal form and followed them.

"You're full of surprises," the old woman muttered, popping a green pill from her pocket before setting off.

A W-Class Mnestic!

Realizing its significance, Luo Shu activated Memory Enhancement from the Anomaly Archives.

Instantly, the landscape shifted.

A hidden path materialized—an antimeme trail, invisible to ordinary perception.

Marion had deliberately withheld this detail, letting Luo Shu think she was meandering through brush.

(Understandable. Their alliance was shaky.)

Luo Shu smirked but played along.

Five kilometers later, after two mnestic boosts, the scenery changed.

A ranger's cabin stood in a small clearing.

"Site-41's outpost," Marion announced.

Since she named it freely, Luo Shu guessed it lacked antimeme properties—visible even without enhancements.

A gray-bearded man emerged, leveling a double-barreled shotgun.

"Endangered species zone. Turn back!"

Luo Shu shot Marion a look: Your own guard doesn't recognize you?

"Tom, stand down. It's me."

Tom's grip tightened. "You know my name? Premeditated trespass!"

Marion sighed. "Check your breast pocket. There's a photo."

Warily, Tom fished out a picture and read aloud: "Marion Wheeler. Director of Antimeme Division."

"Oh! Director! Sorry—forgot you again."

Marion waved it off. "My fault."

Prolonged antimeme exposure had made her hard to perceive or recall.

Tom asked, "Director, what's happening outside? Fewer hikers lately."

Marion glanced at Luo Shu but spared him blame. "Long story. Later."

Past the cabin, the trail descended into a hollow, revealing a five-story building.

Site-41.

Luo Shu pieced it together:

The valley was segmented. Two dead-end sections flanked the vanished middle stretch—where Site-41 lurked.

Marion admitted, "Our old HQ, Site-167, fell to Anomaly-3125. This is all we have left."

Her voice turned grave. "If Site-41's secrets leak, the world ends."

Luo Shu disagreed.

Antimemes concealed; memes destroyed.

"God's" SMS meme had killed billions in minutes—far deadlier than any antimeme.

But arguing was pointless. He needed Marion's help.

Truth would vindicate him.

Marion eyed the hulking Transformer. "It stays outside."

Luo agreed, retrieving the Scranton Anchor from its chassis before entering Site-41.
