Chapter 303 - A Bunch Of Oddballs

After reading the description of the "Chaos Insurgency - Logistics Captain's" abilities, Luo Shu felt somewhat disappointed.

Volume scaling wasn't what he needed. For a lone wolf like him, this ability was far less useful than, say, photographic teleportation.

For an Insurgency logistics officer, compressing large, low-density objects was undeniably handy—boosting transport efficiency and smuggling contraband.

But Luo Shu had hoped to use this ability to carry a portable Scranton Reality Anchor (SRA), masking his individual Hume levels.

Clearly, that wasn't happening.

So he moved on to his next target.

The second outsider reality bender was named "Hetu"—a name that reminded Luo Shu of the fake identity "He Tu" he'd used when first arriving in Beijing.

More importantly, the name "Hetu" gave Luo Shu a strange sense of connection, as if this reality bender held some hidden truth about the world.

"Hetu" and "Luoshu" were ancient Chinese cosmological diagrams, said to reveal the universe's secrets.

Luo Shu even wondered if this "Hetu" could unveil part of this world's mysteries.

But when he finally met "Hetu" and added him to The Anomaly Archive, he realized it was all a misunderstanding.

[Item Designation: Hetu]

[Object Class: Euclid/Tier-3 Reality Bender]

[Description: A guy who loves spitting—with a twist. His phlegm contains pathogens for every known respiratory disease. Its glycoprotein levels are abnormally high, drastically increasing viscosity and pathogen activity. Anyone hit is guaranteed to contract one or more illnesses.]

[Special Containment Procedures: Cell must maintain negative pressure. Regular hypochlorous acid disinfection. Walls coated with superabsorbent polymer (SAP), reapplied every 24 hours. (Note: SAP is used in diapers and sanitary pads.)]

[Anomalous Properties: Hock~ Ptui! Yep, it's a spitting ability. Projectile speed and range scale with Hume levels. At Tier-3 (Hume 250), initial velocity reaches 1,020 m/s, max range 3,000 m.]

[O]

Oh. So this guy's basically a phlegm sniper?

With that kind of force, the pathogens were almost irrelevant!

Hetu's cell was covered in spit—every step squished, every lift of his foot left sticky strands trailing.

This was probably the filthiest containment unit Luo Shu had ever seen, worse than cleaning up after SCP-173 in Site-19.

While not a germaphobe, Luo Shu had limits.

And frankly, while spit-sniping was deadly against normies, it'd be useless against "The Administrator," Barbie, or Abel.

Well, I'll take it. Maybe someday I'll need to solve a problem with spit.

He moved on.

The Twins of Eternal Scam

The next target—or rather, targets—were a pair of conjoined twin reality benders:

"Eternal Ruin, the Shattered Dream"

"Eternal Awakening, the Land of Enlightenment"

Both had mental-based abilities: one trapped victims in hopeless nightmares, the other granted sudden enlightenment.

Their crime? Greed.

They'd orchestrated the largest corporate fraud in history, bankrupting dozens of Fortune 500 companies and unicorn startups, embezzling unimaginable wealth.

Had they quit after one or two heists, they'd be living luxuriously.

But when Luo Shu entered their cell, they struck first, trying to enslave him to escape.

Realizing they were bad news, Luo Shu activated Mental Resistance to block their influence while countering with Divine Persuasion.

A battle of scammers vs. cult leader ensued—ending with Luo Shu's narrow victory.

[Item Designation: Eternal Ruin/Eternal Awakening]

[Object Class: Euclid/Tier-3 Reality Bender]

[Description: ...]

[Special Containment Procedures: Cell lined with SCP-148 (Mind-Blocking Alloy). No personnel entry. Feeding/cleaning handled by AI-driven robots—remote control risks operator influence.]

[Anomalous Properties: Ruin/Enlightenment. First, drown you in despair. Then, offer a flicker of hope. Upon enlightenment, you realize wealth is meaningless—you arrive with nothing, leave with nothing.]

[O]

After subduing them, Luo Shu was drenched in cold sweat.

Had his willpower wavered even slightly, he might've sold himself to them.

After meeting these reality benders, Luo Shu grudgingly admitted: the Foundation was right to contain them.

From Hetu to the scam twins, they were all menaces to society.

The Brave (or Foolhardy) Infiltrator

The fifth target was another interesting one: IR1705, a Chaos Insurgency infiltrator from Site-17.

What intrigued Luo Shu wasn't the ability—but the sheer audacity.

After all, when Luo Shu had entered Site-17 as a Nine-Tailed Fox containment specialist, "The Administrator" had immediately marked him for death.

How balls-out reckless was IR1705 to operate under "The Administrator's" nose?

If Luo Shu had to guess, IR1701 to IR1704 were already martyrs of the Insurgency.

The fact that IR1705 was still alive likely had to do with her reality-warping ability.
