Chapter 294 - Hiding In Plain Sight

Faced with Barbie's spatial fragmentation, Aeolus had two choices:

Reveal himself and face "The God's" judgment.

Stay still and let Barbie pixelate him into oblivion.

Only Luoshu could save him now—if he could find him first.

But with an IQ of 140, Luoshu wasn't stumped for long.

He knew the issue was Reverse Warping's sensory block, so he needed a way to signal his location to Aeolus.

Slipping behind the service desk, Luoshu stood right beside Aeolus—yet neither could perceive the other.

Then, he mechanically activated the desk computer.

Three automated announcements blared:

"Flight to Freedom's Leo Constellation now boarding. Please proceed to the service desk."

"Passenger with phone number 133XXXXXXX, your device has been found here."

"Emergency! Dushanbe Airport is under terrorist control! Evacuate immediately!"

Chaos erupted.

Passengers, already spooked by "The God's" group, fled screaming at the "terrorist" warning.

"The God" and Barbie looked baffled; Abel tuned it out.

But Aeolus decoded the message:

"Freedom's Leo" referenced Leo Aiolos from Saint Seiya—his namesake.

The phone number was Luoshu's contact.

The unspoken fourth line on-screen: "I'm right here. Reach for me."

Luoshu had disabled tactile Perception Block, like SCP-126 pretending not to block sound.

Aeolus stretched his foot under the desk—and brushed something invisible.

Contact.

Luoshu finally saw Aeolus, just as he'd once heard the Kant Counter in SCP-939's chamber.

Without hesitation, he hoisted Aeolus onto his back and retreated.

Barbie's terminal crackled with "The Master's" voice:

"Those were codes! Aeolus is escaping!"

Barbie expanded her fragmentation, pixelating the entire service desk.

"The God" ignored the chaos, shielded by his spatial barriers.

Abel, down an arm thanks to Barbie, backed off to avoid more "friendly fire."

Luoshu, carrying Aeolus, dodged just in time.

Now dual-shrouded by Perception Block, they were invisible to all.

The Getaway

At a safe distance, Luoshu unblocked sound and whispered:

"This won't last. We need cover—fast."

Aeolus, teary-eyed with gratitude:

"My Lord, my life is yours forever!"

Luoshu brushed it off. Survival came first.

His Hume-250 aura would light up satellites without a Scranton Anchor.

Chaos's raid would take time.

Their only hope: Hide under "The God" and Barbie's Hume shadow—hiding in plain sight.

But even that had a time limit.

Luoshu tapped his inside man:

"Where's the nearest Scranton Anchor?"

Aeolus brightened:

"Achilles' Heel's Gulfstream G700 has one! It's parked on the tarmac!"

The jet was outfitted to stabilize against MTF reality benders' Hume interference.

Without it, Barbie's Hume-500 presence would've crashed the plane long ago.

Perfect.

Luoshu sprinted for the jet, Aeolus on his back.

The best hiding spot? Right under their noses.

Meanwhile...

Back in the terminal, Barbie raged, reducing the airport to pixelated rubble.

"The God" seethed—outmaneuvered twice by Luoshu, now humiliated by Aeolus's escape.

Abel, one-armed and amused, watched the carnage.

He hated everyone equally.

Their misery was his entertainment.

Safe at Last

Aboard the Gulfstream, Luoshu and Aeolus lounged in the cockpit, snacking.

Luoshu grinned at the sky:

"Aeolus, look—the moon's so round tonight."
