Unaware of the ambush awaiting him aboveground, Luoshu reached Sublevel-1, preparing to exit Site-CN-06.
He glanced at a ceiling-mounted camera and said, "My disciple, I'm leaving. If new anomalies arrive here, notify me—you know how to reach me."
"My Lord! You're still here? I have urgent news!" replied "White Blood Cell," transmitting live footage to Luoshu's phone.
Abel. Barbie. And "God." All waiting outside.
Luoshu wasn't worried. Sensory Isolation still cloaked him.
But with his Containment Specialist Milestone now at Level 3, he wanted a rematch with Abel—to test that 10% ability boost.
"Come on, Abel. Round two." He strode up the final staircase.
The Trap
Aboveground, Barbie announced: "He's coming. Thirty meters."
Abel stepped forward, sword ready.
"White Eyes" shrank back, avoiding attention.
"God" vanished entirely—no one could spot him now.
"Ten meters. The stairwell exit," Barbie warned.
The morgue's drawer wall slid open silently.
Abel swung instantly, slashing a spatial rift toward the doorway.
Luoshu dodged—but Barbie was already guiding Abel:
"Eight meters ahead. Turn right three degrees!"
She held a portable Kant counter, its screen displaying Luoshu's real-time location and personal Hume (130—Level 1 reality bender).
Sensory Isolation blocked ordinary senses, not Hume readings or intuition.
Luoshu, oblivious, still trusted his stealth.
He assumed Abel might sense his general direction but never pinpoint him—unless he repeated last time's mistake (attempting a neck-snap or mental enslavement).
He was wrong.
At Barbie's cue, Abel lunged, sword descending.
Luoshu teleported behind him—only for Barbie to shout: "Behind you!"
Abel whirled, striking again.
Luoshu barely ducked in time.
"Right corner!"
Abel charged, cornering Luoshu.
As his blade rose for the kill, Luoshu unleashed:
Enemy of Life.
Abel shuddered violently, the sword trembling in his grip.
Luoshu slipped past.
This time, Abel resisted—but the 10% ability boost had tipped the scales.
Finally noticing Barbie's Kant counter, Luoshu realized: Destroy it, and they lose tracking.
But this was a trap.
Barbie stood alone in the morgue, her team outside the door—positioned to bait him into her Spatial Fragmentation range.
One step closer, and he'd be pixelated.
The Foundation had adapted.
Luoshu kept moving, forcing Abel to chase blindly between Barbie's updates.
Frustrated, Abel began slashing randomly, filling the morgue with spatial rifts—endangering everyone.
Barbie called it: "Abel, fall back! Execute Plan B!"
Achilles' Heel and Pandora's Box opened fire, blanketing the morgue in bullets.
Did they care about hitting Abel?
No. He'd survive.
Luoshu, caught off-guard, took multiple hits, blood spraying.
The Foundation had found his weakness:
Area denial.
No stealth? No problem. Just shoot everywhere.
Time to retreat.
Luoshu teleported toward "White Eyes"—the coward lingering at the rear—only to slam into an invisible wall.
"God" had silently erected a one-way spatial barrier.
Bullets could enter. Nothing could leave.
Worse—Luoshu was now trapped between the barrier and Barbie.
She pixelated the space around her, lunging.
Luoshu dodged left—
"Right side!" yelled another task force member with a Kant counter.
Abel slashed a spatial rift from the right.
Nowhere to run.
Barrier behind. Barbie left. Abel right.
Checkmate.
