Chapter 236 - Spatial Tunnel

After shamelessly altering his gender to female, Luoshu finally gained SCP-CN-722-5's approval.

The child laborer's ability was now activated.

[Project Ability: Spatial Tunnel (Pseudo). This ability was granted by the "God" and does not belong to the project itself. You can only share partial usage rights without the "God's" knowledge, borrowing existing spatial tunnels for travel. Don't even think about using this ability to sneak into restrooms or bathhouses.]

Enough already!

Can't you stop messing around for once?

Do I look like that kind of person?!

Luoshu's temple throbbed in irritation.

The Anomaly Archive seemed to respond: Don't blame me—the author made me write this.

Luoshu decided to ignore the joke and focus on testing the Spatial Tunnel (Pseudo) ability to see how "borrowing existing tunnels" worked.

He activated the ability.

The space in front of him blurred, and two dark tunnels appeared.

One led to a dimly lit alley, while the other connected to a simple girl's bedroom.

Luoshu recognized them immediately.

The first tunnel led back to the alley where SCP-CN-722-5 had ambushed him, while the second led to her nest.

Obviously, both tunnels had been created by SCP-CN-722-5.

Luoshu had no intention of visiting her nest, so he chose the alley route.

In an instant, he was back where he started.

Meanwhile, inside the supermarket housing SCP-CN-722-5's nest, the Foundation security personnel remained completely unaware.

Although Spatial Tunnel (Pseudo) was an incomplete ability—Luoshu couldn't create new tunnels himself—he was more than satisfied.

If his instincts were right, this ability would prove extremely useful in the future!

With Site-CN-02's infiltration complete, it was time to leave Beijing.

Originally, he had planned to head to Tianjin—home of Site-CN-06—the next morning.

But now, he decided to leave tonight.

Luoshu walked to the other end of the alley, hailed a taxi, and paid for a direct ride to Tianjin.

Halfway along the Jingjin Expressway, Luoshu suddenly felt the urgent call of nature and asked the driver to stop at the Baigutun Service Area.

The driver also needed a bathroom break, so he followed closely behind Luoshu.

But when he saw Luoshu enter the women's restroom, the driver froze in shock.

Unaware, Luoshu walked in confidently—only to realize there were no urinals.

Confused, he entered a stall to relieve himself.

As he stepped out, a middle-aged woman who had just entered let out a 120-decibel scream:

"PERVERT! THERE'S A MAN IN THE WOMEN'S RESTROOM!"

Luoshu blinked. "I'm a woman…"

Wait.

He looked down.

Oh no.

It finally hit him—he had used Self-Deception earlier to trick SCP-CN-722-5 into believing he was female.

Damn it!

I forgot to switch back!

Before anyone could drag him to the police station, Luoshu bolted back to the taxi.

The driver returned shortly after, giving him a knowing look.

"Bold move, buddy."

"Shut up! I accidentally walked into the wrong one!"

Meanwhile, at Site-CN-02…

While Luoshu made his escape, Site-CN-02 was in chaos.

Achilles' Heel had lost two members in 24 hours, while Site-CN-02 had been infiltrated without resistance.

Neither side was happy.

The Level-4 personnel from both groups, along with "The Master," held an emergency meeting to discuss countermeasures.

Barbie spoke first. "I've contacted the O5 Council. Reinforcements are coming, but right now, the problem is—how do we find Luoshu?"

The security director frowned. "Didn't one of your team members have a tracking ability?"

After "Remembrance's" death, "White Eyes" was too terrified to face Luoshu again.

He'd rather be punished and contained in Area-13 like Jianjia than risk another encounter.

Embarrassed, Barbie didn't elaborate.

"The Master" stepped in to explain. "Luoshu can counter our teammate's tracking ability. Unless we catch him off guard, it's useless. Plus, Luoshu is currently outside his detection range."

The Site Director was unimpressed. "If even you reality benders can't handle him, what are we ordinary people supposed to do?"

In her view, if Achilles' Heel hadn't intervened, Luoshu might have sneaked into containment but wouldn't have caused major trouble.

But now, two SCP-CN-722 instances were dead. Her logic was simple: If we don't acknowledge the problem, it doesn't exist. You guys made it worse!

And when it came down to it, Luoshu had only ended up in Beijing after escaping Achilles' Heel in the first place.

"This is your responsibility!" The Site Director blamed Achilles' Heel entirely for the mess.

Barbie caught her implication and nearly lost her temper.

"You let an intruder waltz into your site without noticing, and now you're blaming us? My team fought tooth and nail, and you have the nerve to mock us? Do I look like a pushover to you?!"

"The Master" quickly intervened. "Boss, calm down. Arguing won't help. Let me handle this."

The Site Director, though a Level-4, knew better than to provoke a reality bender like Barbie too far.

After all, while her authority was limited to Site-CN-02, Barbie's clearance extended Foundation-wide.

If Barbie really snapped and "accidentally" killed her, no one would dare punish her severely.

Reality benders loyal to the Foundation were too valuable to execute over minor incidents.

After calming Barbie down, "The Master" turned to the Site-CN-02 officials.

"What's done is done. We need to work together. If Luoshu keeps causing trouble here, your losses won't be any smaller than ours."

The Site Director sighed. "What do you suggest?"

"This is China—your turf. You have connections with local authorities. Finding him is your job."

After a moment's thought, the Site Director nodded. "Fine. We'll track him down. But containing or eliminating him is your responsibility."

"Deal."
