Chapter 195 - The Secret Of The Entrance

With plenty of time to spare, Luo Shu wasn't in a hurry. He stayed in Room 302, carefully observing.

Could the entrance be the toilet?

There was that scene in Harry Potter where Ministry of Magic employees stepped into a toilet, pulled the flush, and got sucked into the Ministry.

But after stepping into the bathroom, Luo Shu gave the toilet a disgusted look.

If the only way in was flushing himself down, he'd rather check out tomorrow and head straight for Site-CN-06 in Tianjin.

Surely the Foundation wasn't as tasteless as J.K. Rowling.

A bathtub would've been acceptable, but Luo Shu had no idea how to operate it.

But then—

He realized something.

The "guard" in the room was binge-watching a drama, laughing at the funny parts.

Luo Shu suspected that even if he dropped Unobservable State and walked around, the guard wouldn't notice him.

But if this was Site-CN-02's entrance, why was the guard slacking off instead of monitoring access?

Real guards sat at gates, watching everyone who came and went.

So…

Luo Shu's gaze shifted to the large LCD TV the guard was glued to.

If that was the entrance, it'd be easy to pass through.

And when he stepped closer to inspect it—

The Anomaly Spotter Milestone triggered.

An anomaly within 5 meters!

Heh. Got you.

The TV was the anomaly.

Made sense—the LCD screen was the employee entrance, and the guard was doing his job by watching the "door."

Watching the entrance while catching up on dramas?

Security guards nationwide: "Is Site-CN-02 hiring? Sign me up!"

Luo Shu approached the TV, poking and prodding the screen—

But no matter what he tried, he couldn't pass through.

Flipping open the Anomalous Item Compendium to Page 30 (Junk Carnival), he prepared to use Mechanical Animation on the TV.

But just before touching it, he hesitated.

What would happen if he used Mechanical Animation on an anomaly?

He didn't know.

Maybe nothing.

If the TV already had sentience, animating it would be pointless.

And Mechanical Animation didn't enslave machines—it just made them view him as their creator.

Meaning, it wouldn't work on something already alive.

But if the TV wasn't sentient, animating it could have unpredictable consequences.

His goal wasn't to recruit a TV minion—it was to find the entrance.

Taking such a risk wasn't worth it.

After a moment's thought, he abandoned the plan.

Scanning the room, he quickly devised a new approach.

Like the rest of the hotel, this room had hidden surveillance—a tiny camera concealed in the air vent, facing the TV and door.

Most people wouldn't notice, but Luo Shu spotted it instantly.

So he used Mechanical Animation on the camera instead.

One more "eye" added to his network.

Unfortunately, the camera was too small for storage—no SD card, no playback.

To review footage, he'd have to access Site-CN-02's monitoring room.

But that was fine—he had another plan.

By the time he finished, his Unobservable State was nearly depleted.

He returned to his room to sleep.

The Next Morning

Luo Shu headed straight for the hotel's KTV lounge, rented a private room, and went full karaoke mode.

Meanwhile, in Site-CN-02's monitoring room, a security agent frowned at the feed.

"This 'He' guy's insane. This hotel's overpriced and service sucks. Why's he still here? And now he's singing?"

His colleague shrugged. "Just have the guys upstairs kick him out."

"Tried that. The director said no. If he rants online about bad service, it'll draw unwanted attention."

"Fair. Dealing with one weirdo's easier than a mob of netizens. Keep watching, then."

After five songs, Luo Shu's tactical terminal vibrated silently.

The signal.

Someone had entered Room 302!

The KTV lounge was on the 2nd floor, west wing—directly below 302, less than 100 meters away.

As long as Luo Shu stayed here, the animated camera in 302 remained active, feeding him intel.

Now, it was alerting him—people were using the entrance!

Luo Shu pulled out his new phone and checked the feed.

A group of Site-CN-02 staff were filing into the TV screen.

Though the camera angle was awkward, he could just make out—

A door inside the screen.

After the last person entered, the guard pressed a button on the TV remote.

The channel changed.

Back to his drama.

At this point, if Luo Shu hadn't figured it out, he'd be insulting his 140 IQ.

The remote opened the entrance.

That was the secret.

Interesting.

Now that he knew, Luo Shu had no interest in singing.

With one Unobservable State left for the day, it was time to see what Site-CN-02 had to offer.
