Chapter 65 - Detective Luoshu

Under Luoshu's masterful manipulation—redirecting blame, framing the innocent, and planting false leads—the Site Director had no choice but to defend his personnel.

"All Level-4 staff have alibis and are beyond suspicion," the Director stated firmly.

Big Beard Jack added, "We've already vetted them. Clean."

So even Level-4s got grilled. Good.

But Luoshu wasn't done.

"I trust the clearance system—but what if the intruder bypassed it?"

He wasn't speculating. He was stating facts.

"Is there an SCP that could do that?"

The Director paused, then opened his desk drawer and pulled out SCP-005 (Skeleton Key).

"This could."

Bingo.

Luoshu feigned curiosity. "May I see it?"

The Director handed it over—unaware Luoshu could replicate its power with a touch.

Why this charade?

To erase his fingerprints from the night before.

Now, if anyone checked, they'd only find fresh prints from this "inspection."

"I suspect someone stole the key to access SCP-241," Luoshu mused.

The Director frowned. "But it never left my drawer."

"Unless they copied its power," Luoshu pressed.

The Director's eyes widened. "An unknown anomaly? Possible."

"And have you noticed… unauthorized entries into your office?"

The Director stiffened. He had.

"Then why not store SCP-005 in a proper unit?" Luoshu suggested. "Safer."

Second objective achieved.

No more sneaking into the Director's office. SCP-005 would now be under standard containment—accessible to Luoshu, but locked away from IR1901.

The Scapegoat

"The footage and break-in point to one suspect," Luoshu declared.

Jack leaned in. "Who?"

"SCP-126. The Invisible Friend."

Jack slapped his thigh. "Makes sense!"

Site-19 had always distrusted SCP-126:

Perception Block made it impossible to monitor.

Its eagerness to help felt too convenient.

By naming it, Luoshu wasn't betraying IR1901—he was forcing him to lay low.

"Let's check its unit!"

The team stormed Sublevel-4, sealing the room to prevent escape.

Jack barked, "126! You here?"

A sleepy, feminine voice replied from the vanity: "Yesss…?"

Disgusting. Luoshu knew it was MacDonald's fake voice.

Jack demanded, "Where were you last night?"

"Sleeping here!" it whined.

Luoshu smirked. "Then let's check the sonar logs for breathing sounds."

Checkmate.
