Chapter 11 - An Unexpected Discovery

Luo Shu was absolutely certain that the Eye-Pods were SCP-131—the announcement had confirmed it.

As for SCP-055, he knew of it too—the most mysterious anomaly in Site-19.

An anti-meme[1] that defied description.

No one could describe what it looked like.

No one knew its origins.

No one in Site-19 even knew if it was still there.

Luo Shu only knew because, in his past life as an SCP enthusiast, everyone knew about 055.

But in this world, no one remembered.

Because SCP-055 erased all information about itself.

It was a Keter-class anomaly—too dangerous to be kept in a Site.

Yet every attempt to move it had failed, for reasons no one could recall.

Gradually, even its existence faded into myth.

And now, somehow, it had appeared in Luo Shu's Anomalous Item Catalog.

This could only mean one thing:

He had encountered SCP-055 without realizing it.

And thanks to its anti-memetic properties, he had already forgotten.

A chill ran down his spine.

But when he saw the "O" at the bottom of SCP-055's page, his mood lifted slightly.

He had somehow unlocked its ability.

What the hell had happened?

Thankfully, there was a "Playback" function.

When he triggered it, the truth unfolded before him.

The Forgotten Encounter

A few minutes earlier, after the Eye-Pods crashed into him, Luo Shu had entered the hallway to retrieve them.

There, he saw it—a massive reinforced door, wide open.

Inside was a 5m x 5m x 2.5m containment chamber.

And standing at the threshold was SCP-055.

It looked like a [DATA EXPUNGED].

The two Eye-Pods had been frantically circling his feet, shrieking in terror—their way of signaling extreme danger.

Somehow, Luo Shu had interacted with SCP-055 (details lost to the anti-meme) and guided it back into its cell.

The door had sealed itself shut behind him.

And just like that, his memory of the event vanished.

Even now, watching the playback, the details flickered and distorted.

[DATA EXPUNGED].

[DATA EXPUNGED].

[DATA EXPUNGED].

Horrifying.

From what he could recall:

SCP-055's chamber had no guards, no keypads, no security.

The Eye-Pods must have accidentally opened it during their exploration.

If Luo Shu hadn't stumbled upon them, who knows what would've happened?

He had unknowingly re-contained a Keter-class anomaly and lived.

Pure luck.

Now, staring at the "O" on SCP-055's page, he hesitated.

[Ability: Undescribable.]

What would happen if he clicked it?

What if it triggered an XK-class end-of-the-world scenario?

Too risky.

The only upside?

He was now the only person in Site-19 who remembered SCP-055.

The Eye-Pods' True Page

As he carried the two Eye-Pods back to the Central Garden, another question nagged him:

Why hadn't SCP-131's page appeared yet?

They were right in his hands!

What's wrong with this damn catalog?!

Give me a straight answer!

But the moment he set the Eye-Pods down in the garden—

Page 5 appeared.

[O]

Finally.

Luo Shu understood now.

The Catalog didn't add a page just from contact—it required successful containment.

SCP-173's page appeared after Nine-Tailed Fox re-contained it.

SCP-231-7's page unlocked when he helped trap the Crimson Bride.

SCP-3329's page activated when he wrapped the Rainbow Lollipop.

And now, SCP-131's page appeared after returning the Eye-Pods.

This also explained why he couldn't reactivate SCP-173's neck-snap ability.

Because it hadn't breached containment again.

Hmm…

I need to find a way to let SCP-173 escape…

[1] An "anti-meme" refers to a concept, object, or entity that actively resists being remembered or understood, often causing those who try to learn about it to forget its existence or details about it.
