Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 The Red Nightmare of the Soul Gem

Chapter 18

Hermione's actions provided Professor McGonagall, who was at a loss for words, with an opportunity to step down.

The appearance of a troll running rampant in the school was definitely a matter of school safety responsibility, even if the troll was originally intended to be part of a puzzle game, creating a small obstacle for Harry Potter's date with the Dark Lord.

However, if the troll had escaped to the dungeons, that would be a different matter. It would make many pure-blood families' children feel that the school was unsafe, leading to a flood of complaint letters to the headmaster's office.

"I have to say, you are a brave girl, but don't do that again in the future."

Thinking about how the school would blame everything on this child made Professor McGonagall feel a bit guilty.

"I think your bravery deserves 10 points for Gryffindor."

Professor McGonagall's little selfishness added points to her own Gryffindor house, but at this moment, Professor Snape would not oppose it.

Professor McGonagall took several of her lion house students back to the dormitory, leaving Professors Snape and Quirrell to handle the aftermath.

If Harry Potter acted impulsively and adventurously as usual, and was ultimately lucky enough to achieve victory, then Professor Snape would definitely have listed a long and detailed directory for dealing with the troll. But now that Harry Potter was fine, he had no thoughts on the matter.

After all, there was still Professor Quirrell! Let him handle it!

Professor Snape rolled up his cloak and disappeared into the corridor like a bat in the night.

Professor Quirrell stared at the fallen troll in a daze; the chaos he had envisioned did not unfold as expected. Even the girls' bathroom was not damaged, and the troll was taken down by a first-year student using the Levitation Charm.

What seemed normal revealed something unusual, and Professor Quirrell shook off his chills and left the scene.

Now there was no one on the second floor, and it was unclear which professor would come to deal with the troll; the stench was indeed unpleasant.

Humming a randomly adapted lyric in a rather ungentlemanly manner, Regulus cast 'Disillusionment' and appeared.

In the original story, Hermione's cries attracted the troll released from the dungeon by Quirrell, and Harry Potter's reckless behavior nearly cost him his life, while Ron's luck saved the two companions, forming the basis of the later trio.

Now, with Regulus intervening, Hermione showcased her academic prowess, actively subduing the troll, while the two boys merely became bystanders, having no opportunity to participate. Could the relationship among the three still remain the same as before?

Hermione, the little girl, really has a great personality!

How should this troll be dealt with?

Perhaps it could be sent to the Hogwarts kitchen to see what the house-elves would cook.

Thinking about the troll's foul smell... never mind!

In most fanfics, it is believed that there is a level in Harry Potter's game where Quirrell is responsible for the troll, but it does not appear in the films, and Regulus Black also thinks it won't.

The reason is that if the troll were one of the levels, then Quirrell wouldn't need to go through the first level with 'Fluffy'. As a magical creature, the troll also needs to be fed, so some fanfics suggest there would be a dedicated passage for feeding it, allowing Quirrell to completely skip the earlier levels.

The first level is 'Fluffy' with three heads, taken care of by Hagrid; the second level is the Devil's Snare, handled by Professor Sprout; plants do not require long-term care. The subsequent levels, flying keys, giant wizard chess, and Snape's potions, are all 'inanimate'; once set up, they do not need management. Adding a troll to such a game is simply ridiculous.

"So that means, there won't be any troll-related matters later on."

After Regulus analysis, he confidently stated the conclusion. The troll in front of him had already gotten back up, retrieved its club, and was glaring angrily at Regulus.

"Then! Let my [Clay Golem] gain a bit more vitality!"

Regulus waved his hand, and a surge of black sand rushed toward the giant creature, crazily pouring into its seven orifices. It was visible to the naked eye that the entire gray giant was turning black from head to toe.

And that wasn't all! The appearance of the giant also began to change towards that of the Lava Beast after it completely turned black.

Finally, when the Lava Beast, occupying the entire restroom, stabilised its form, it transformed again into black grains of sand, which were absorbed by Regulus Black's skill system.

Just as he stepped out of the women's restroom, several other professors hurried over after settling the students.

"Where is the giant?"

Professor Flitwick waved his wand, striding on his short legs, and was the first to arrive at the scene.

"You're late, Professor Flitwick! You must not have expected the giant to be defeated by the students. Just now, Professors McGonagall, Snape, and Quirrell have all been here. However, they didn't have time to deal with the giant because they were protecting the students. I arrived shortly after, and there's no creature more foul than the giant, so I burned it to ashes."

Regulus Black maintained his usual elegant demeanor, speaking to the professors who arrived later.

The foul stench in the air, along with the black grains on the ground resembling bone ash, all proved that the giant had been burned to dust.

After exchanging mutual reminders, the professors returned to their respective offices.

Regulus Black also returned to his wish-fulfilling room.

During the earlier process of dealing with the giant, Regulus Black seemed to have a flash of inspiration about how to handle Voldemort's Horcrux. To utilize the Horcrux again, he must properly deal with the soul fragment inside, which belonged to Voldemort, a dominant figure in the wizarding world, an existence that others would avoid at all costs.

Regulus, equipped with a built-in golden finger from his crossover, originated from the game system of [Diablo II]. Among the various items in the game, there was a special quest item called the [Soul Stone].

This was an item used in the storyline to seal the three Great Demon Kings. Could Voldemort be compared to the three Great Demon Kings? Of course not. However, there were similarities; both were left with only the existence of their souls after death.

According to the background setting, the Soul Stone comes in red, yellow, and blue variants: red for nightmares, golden for memories, and blue for soul remains. To create a Soul Stone or something similar, the magic in the current wizarding world must adhere to similar principles.

Considering the various spells of wizards and the characteristics of his own system, Regulus was already capable of creating a Soul Stone.

First, there must be a reasonable setting; any item created within the built-in system must undergo a reconfiguration. This was also the result of using a modifier, and this characteristic was carried over after death.
