Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 - Class 1A

[Aizawa POV]

The classroom hummed with the sterile buzz of fluorescent lights as the morning sunlight beamed in through the side windows.

I burrowed deeper into my yellow sleeping bag, hidden in the styrofoam ceiling tiles of the roof.

A cocoon against the inevitable chaos that was soon to fill the room.

First days of classes were always the most tiring.

Excited young children who idolized heroes too much, without the proper restraint and wariness of the violence that awaited them.

It was a habit of mine to hide while the students trickled in. To secretly assess them from the moment they stepped into the classroom.

Where they felt relaxed and unguarded without the presence of authority.

And later throughout the day, I would see if they were truly capable of becoming heroes.

If they possessed the qualities of being entrusted with protecting the lives of civilians.

If I deemed they weren't, I wouldn't hesitate to expel them as a lesson.

I peered through a secret hole within one of the tiles as the door slid open.

A boy with spiked red hair and a girl with vibrant pink skin burst in the room laughing, their voices ricocheting off the walls.

"Dude, this is gonna be epic! Our own hero classroom! Look at these desks—they're, like, industrial-grade!"

The girl twirled past him, her swaying legs nearly knocking over a chair, "I bet I'll ace combat training! My Acid's way stronger than your rock hard body, Kiri!"

Kirishima flexed, hardening his bicep into jagged, pale stone. "Rock? This is diamond, Ashido! Unbreakable! I'll tank every hit the villains dish out!"

The student's files that U.A. had begun gathering since two months ago played back in my head.

'Kirishima, Quirk: Hardening. Loyal and passionate, but secretly insecure about his simple quirk beneath the bravado.'

Ashido playfully mocked his pose, her palm oozing a drop of acid which scorched the floor beneath her, "Cool, but can your 'diamond' handle this? I'll melt you into a puddle!"

'Ashido Mina, Quirk: Acid. Bubbly, adaptable, but too playful. Can be caught unaware easily.'

'Their U.A. applications showed they came from the same junior high school. Likely friends—distractions for each other if unchecked.'

The door slid open again.

This time, a tall boy with glasses marched in, rigid as a ruler.

His arms chopped through the air, "This is the hero course! Such boisterousness is unbecoming of future professionals! And refrain from scorching the floor! We cannot damage school property so recklessly!"

Mina snorted, "Relax, man! We're just hyped! We got into U.A.!"

Kirishima walked up and slapped the boy's back, making him stumble in place. "C'mon, man! You gotta loosen up! What's your quirk? Those turbo engines in those calves seem manly!"

Adjusting his glasses, flustered, the boy replied, "I—Yes! My quirk, Engine, allows me unparalleled speed! But discipline is paramount for our journey as Heroes! My brother always said that relaxation invites recklessness!"

'Tenya Iida. Quirk: Engine. Rule-bound and rigid. Brother's legacy weighs on him. Leadership potential, but prone to overcorrecting others, and himself even more.'

"He seems a bit stuck-up…" Mina muttered to herself.

Then a soft voice piped up from the doorway.

A round-faced girl, her short-cut bobbed hair hovered nervously.

Peaking in, she asked "Um… Is this Class 1-A? I'm Ochaco Uraraka!"

Mina zoomed over, dragging the girl inside. "Yes! Hi! I'm Mina! I love your cheeks—they're so squishy!"

Uraraka blushed, "Th-Thanks? Your skin's, uh, really pink and cute!"

Kirishima grinned, "That's Ashido to the core! And hey, what's your quirk? Ashdod's is acid, and mine's Hardening!"

Uraraka brightened, "Zero Gravity! I can make things float!"

She tapped a desk, sending it drifting upward, hovering over the group as they stared in awe.

Mina gasped excitedly, "No way! You could float villains straight into space and never see them again! Like a prison in the skies!"

Iida chopped the air once more, "That's a highly irresponsible suggestion Mina! Heroes must prioritize the safety of everyone!"

'Uraraka Ochako. Quirk: Zero Gravity. Optimistic, but naïve. Resourceful under pressure. Needs to watch out for her own recklessness.'

The girl rubbed the back of her head, "Hehe, funny you say that. I actually want to be a rescue hero once I graduate. So I would be using my quirk to be helping people. Not defeating them."

A boy with blonde hair slouched into the room next, his hands slack in his pockets.

He whistled then spoke aloud, "Whoa, this place is legit!"

Then he looked at the students, "Hey, I'm Denki Kaminari! My quirk is Electrification."

And he shot out a small bolt from his fingertips with a grin, "I'm basically a human taser."

Mina grinned mischievously, "A taser? Like the object? So you're, like, all shock and power with no brain?"

Kaminari was mock-offended, "Rude! I've got plenty of brain stuff… cells. Sometimes."

Kirishima laughed, "She just likes to joke around. Don't take it personally." And then flexed his arm once more to harden it.

"Besides dude, we should team up! I'll charge in, and you zap 'em! We'll be unstoppable!"

Kaminari grinned in excitement, "That's an awesome idea! Our Hero partnership name: Thunder and Stone! Merchandise by next week!"

And the two posed together back to back in a comedic fashion while the others in the room looked at the scene with mixed reactions.

'Kaminari Denki. Quirk: Electrification. Overconfident, attention-seeking, and not the brightest. Prone to short-circuiting from his own quirk. But he's got passion.'

Two more students entered quietly.

A tall girl with a regal ponytail and a boy with half-red, half-white hair.

The girl spoke to the boy in a polite tone, "The syllabus said there will be practical displays sometime this week. I've prepared notes on the common tasks they assigned to previous classes."

But the boy continued staring ahead silently unamused, "…Hn."

Mina whispered to Kirishima, "Ooh, ice prince alert. Bet he's got drama."

Kirishima whispered back, "Dude, I recognize him! And he might as well be a prince. That's Todoroki! He's the Number 2 Hero—Endeavor's kid. His quirk's probably crazy powerful!"

Mina looked back with a renewed assessment, "Wow~ Handsome and strong~."

Meanwhile Momo noticed Uraraka's floating desk as she walked in. She clasped her hands in awe, "Ah! Whose remarkable quirk is this?"

'Yaoyorozu Momo. Quirk: Creation. Top of the recommendation exams. Bright, but hesitates in improvisation.'

Uraraka shyly scratched the back of her head as she released the desk and it landed against the floor with a bang, "M-mine"

"It's wonderful!" Yaoyorozu exclaimed and she walked ahead and took Uraraka's hands with her own, "I've always seen quirks that stretch the possibilities of science, but this…this is like breaking the natural law of the world! May I know what your parents quirks are?"

"…You're blocking the entrance," the monotoned boy said from behind her.

"Oh!" Yaoyorozu flinched, and stepped to the side. "My apologies."

'Todoroki Shoto. Quirk: Half-Cold Half-Hot. Skilled, but emotionally closed off. Father's influence is a dark shadow over what should be the brightest moments of his life.'

A loud explosion echoed from the hall.

The door slammed open, almost breaking it in the process.

Bakugo stormed in, snarling, "Out of my way, extras!"

Midoroya scurried in behind him, muttering, "K-Kacchan, the desks are assigned! Maybe we should check the seating chart—"

Bakugo whirled around, "Shut up, Deku! I'll sit wherever I want!"

The room froze.

Kirishima's grin faded, Uraraka flinched.

Mina raised an eyebrow, "Yikes. Who peed in his cereal?"

Kirishima leaned toward Bakugo in an effort to make peace, "Hey, man. Chill. We're all gonna be classmates here."

Bakugo ignored him, slamming himself into the seat of a desk, "Like I care! I'm here to be number one, not make friends with people who are beneath me!"

'Bakugo Katsuki. Quirk: Explosion. Raw power, natural talent, and zero restraint. Volatile, but driven. He could be great—if he learns to channel that rage.'

Midoriya shrunk back, trying his best to avoid making Bakugo angrier and causing a bigger scene.

'Midoriya Izuku. Quirk: Superpower. His power is phenomenal, but he's physically fragile. Not only does fear hold him back, but his quirk is self-destructive.'

'I'll probably expel him by today if he doesn't show some kind of improvement in his quirk control. If he collapses after one punch, not only will he be a danger to himself, but he'll be a danger to others.'

It was then that Uraraka made eye contact with Midoriya and brightened her expression, waving at him.

She smiled, "Midoriya! You made it! I knew you would! That punch you threw during the exam was amazing! Thanks for saving me!"

Midoriya immediately became flustered, his face turning red from embarrassment, "A-ah, it was nothing… I just did what I had to do. I couldn't let you get hurt. Your quirk was amazing too! You saved so many people!"

Uraraka grinned, "Thanks! I'm glad we're in the same class. Maybe we can team up sometime!"

Midoriya nodded eagerly, "Y-yeah, that'd be great!"

The door opened again, and a boy with a bird-like head and dark feathers entered, followed by a girl with earphone jacks dangling from her earlobes.

The birdman spoke in a calm voice, "This room is… adequately lit. However some shadows still linger in the corners. They whisper of unseen trials…."

The girl rolled her eyes,"Dramatic much? It's just a classroom."

"Darkness is eternal Jirou. One must respect its presence."

'Tokoyami Fumikage. Quirk: Dark Shadow. Introspective, and his quirk's aggressiveness in the dark could be a liability. He also values control too much.'

Jirou smirked, "Sure, whatever you say, Edgar Allan Poe."

'Jirou Kyoka. Quirk: Earphone Jack. Sarcastic, observant. Good instincts, but downplays her own abilities.'

Mina turned to Uraraka, "Okay, bird boy's intense. But earphone girl's got sass. I like her."

Ururaka nodded, her eyes wide, "They both seem so…cool. Like they're from a manga!"

Kaminari grinned from the back of the class, "Yeah, she's got that cool vibe. Like a rockstar or something. I dig her style."

Then he called out to Jirou, finger-gunning the air, "Hey! You into music? I've got a mixtape that'll blow your jacks off!"

Jiro deadpanned while walking past him, "Hard pass. I can already see your brain overworking itself to start a conversation."

The students snickered while Kaminari playfully clutched his chest in pain.

Tokoyami ignored the chatter, addressing the room solemnly. "I am Tokoyami Fumikage. My quirk, Dark Shadow, is a creature of the abyss. It is… temperamental."

A faint rumble emanated from his uniform, but he silenced it with a glare.

Following them, a blonde boy with a tail and another with purple, ball-shaped hair entered next.

Mineta's eyes widened as he scanned the room, whispering loudly to his fellow companion, "Whoa… This class is stacked with girls! UA's waaaay better than Junior High!"

'Mineta. Quirk: Pop Off. Nervous, insecure, and already distracted. Needs discipline—or a reality check. Expulsion candidate if he doesn't grow up.'

Ignoring the comment, Ojiro bowed politely to the room, "Good morning. I'm Mashirao Ojiro. My quirk, as you can see, is Tail." He gestured to the muscular appendage behind him. "I hope we get along well."

'Ojiro Mashirao. Quirk: Tail. Reliable, disciplined. Straightforward quirk—unremarkable, but dependable in close combat. Needs to leverage agility over brute force.'

Mineta grinned nervously, scratching his head, "Uh, hey! I'm Minoru Mineta! My quirk, Pop off, is, uh… sticky? I can pull these balls off my head and they stick to stuff!"

Then he plucked a purple sphere from his scalp, holding it up to show the class.

Kaminari leaned back in his desk, raising an eyebrow, "Sticky balls? Now that just sounds wrong."

Mineta's face flushed, quickly tossing the ball in the trash, "I-It's tactical! They're great for trapping villains!"

"Whatever you say man."

Diplomatically, Ojiro began nudging Mineta toward their seats, "Let's find our desks for now. The teacher could arrive any minute."

Uraraka leaned over from her seat, in a friendly but cautious tone, "Nice to meet you both! I'm Ochaco Uraraka. My quirk lets me make things float in the air!"

Mineta perked up, leering slightly, "Uraraka, huh? Cute name for a cute—"

"Shut it, Grape Stain!" Bakugo slammed his palm on his desk, cutting him off, "Nobody cares about your lame quirk! Why'd they let so many nobodies enter U.A.?!"

Mineta flinched, muttering under his breath, "Jeez, what's his problem?..."

Kirishima called out with a thumbs up, "Sticky quirk sounds like it'll come in handy, Mineta! You'll trap villains in no sweat!"

Mineta brightened slightly, "Y-Yeah! Just wait 'til you see me in action!"

The familiar sliding sound was heard once again as a boy with a wide grin and a set of floating clothes entered next.

The boy stretched his arms as he walked in, "Man, this place is huge! I can't wait to see what the training facilities are like! I'm in the mood for a quick swing!"

'Sero Hanta. Quirk: Tape. Easygoing, but lacks focus and a personal drive.'

The uniform floating beside him spoke, "I hope they have good mirrors in the changing rooms! I need to practice my poses!"

'Hagakure Toru. Quirk: Invisibility. Cheerful, but her quirk's limitations make her vulnerable if caught.'

Sero laughed, "Poses? What are you, a model, Hagakure?"

Hagakure giggled, "Maybe! You never know!"

Listening in, Mina jumped into the conversation. "Ooh, a model? I could totally see that! You've got the vibe! And all people really need to see are the clothes anyways!"

Hagakure (smiled?), "Thanks! I've always wanted to try it someday. Maybe we can practice together! You're really pretty too!"

Kaminari leaned across his desk, grinning slyly at Sero, "Whoa, dude! First day and you're already chatting up models? Save some charm for the rest of us!"

Sero sat in his seat, scratching his neck while laughing awkwardly. "Relax, man! We're just talking about mirrors! Besides, we only just met in the hallway."

Hagakure's sleeves fluttered as she struck a dramatic pose and pointed at Kaminari, "Jealousy doesn't suit heroes blondie! Confidence is key for us~ Right Sero?"

Mineta jumped out and clutched Sero's shirt "We've been here, like, ten minutes only! Teach us your ways! How did you get so friendly with her???"

At that moment, the door slid open with a dramatic flourish.

Another blonde boy with sparkling eyes and a gleaming belt struck a pose, with the incoming sunlight refracting off his shining complexion.

Walking in behind him was a broad-shouldered student who cracked his knuckles, with a bag of sugar peeking out from his pocket.

The sparkling blonde, with a hand on hip, enthusiastically yelled, "Behold! The glittering path to heroism for us begins! I am Yuga Aoyama, and my Naval Laser shall pierce the heavens!"

'Aoyama Yuga. Quirk: Naval Laser. Flamboyant and vain. Power comes at a physical cost—stomachaches.'

Sato chuckled, unwrapping a sugar cube, "Dude, save the passion for the villains."

He stepped forward, "I'm Rikido Satou. My quirk's Sugar Rush and it's really simple. Eat sweets, get strong."

And to prove his point, he popped the sugar cube into his mouth and the class watched as his muscles visibly bulged in power, stretching his uniform to the limit.

'Satou Rikido. Quirk: Sugar Rush. Straightforward quirk and thought process, but his sugar crashes could cripple him mid-battle due to his IQ drop.'

Mineta wondered out loud, "The sparkle guy's gonna blind the villains with his smile! It's too bright!"

"Of course!" Aoyama agreed as he flicked his hair.

Hagakure whispered, "I don't like how he acts so rich. It's such a snobby trait they all have."

Yaoyorozu turned her head in offense, "I'd like to comment that the wealthy have actual class. Not whatever vain personality he possesses. Please don't group them all in the same category."

Hagakure turned back around and whispered, "...what's got her riled up?"

"I don't know," Kirishima shrugged. "Maybe she has a rich friend?"

The door slid open once again.

A girl with wide eyes and a calm demeanor entered, followed by a towering student with six muscular arms folded across his chest.

The girl croaked softly while scanning the room, "Good morning, ribbit. I'm Tsuyu Asui. Feel free to call me Tsuyu."

'Asui Tsuyu. Quirk: Frog. Observant, adaptable. Her pragmatism is definitely praiseworthy.'

Her gaze landed on Iida in his seat and tilted her head while a finger rested on her chin. "You're Iida, right? The one who likes to act like a robot?"

Iida coughed abruptly "R-robot? I don't know what you are referring to, but it's an honor to see you again, Tsuyu. I'm happy to see we both made it."

The other boy's voice was muffled behind his mask, before one of his arms morphed into a mouth, "The name's Mezo Shouji. My quirk lets me replicate and grow body parts from my limbs." He took a quick look around, "The class seems… lively."

'Shouji Mezo. Quirk: Dupli-Arms. Quiet, perceptive. Reliable, but his stoicism could isolate him.'

Tsuyu scanned the room once more, "Where's Hakuro? I thought he'd be here early, ribbit. I saw his name on the class roster."

Iida adjusted his glasses, "It seems like he'll be the last student to enter. He must be running late which is surprising. I feel it unlikely he would be late of his own accord given his intellect and personality."

Kaminari propped his elbows onto the desk, "Speaking of late, where's the teacher? UA's supposed to be all 'prestigious,' right? Did he get lost?"

Mina spun in her chair, "Maybe it's a test! Like a surprise stealth training! He's already here, but he's spying on us!"

Kirishima grinned before hardening his fist and swinging it through the air, "If it's a pro hero, they'll probably bust through the wall! Like BAM! 'Surprise combat drill!'"

Midoriya began muttering while flipping some pages in his notebook, "UA's faculty roster includes All Might, Present Mic, Cementoss, Midnight, and some others. Maybe our teacher prefers covert entrances? Or—"

"Shut up, Deku!" Bakugo yelled, "If the teacher's late, they're just a weakling who can't even wake up early!"

Shouji grew another mouth, "Or they're assessing us. Testing how we handle disorder."

Yaoyaorozu folded her hands in thought, "That sounds reasonable. Uncertainty is a hero's constant companion afterall. We can hardly know all the factors before a fight. But I can't say I've heard about this kind of teaching method from any school."

Jiro began fidgeting with her earlobe, "Or they just overslept guys. Come on. Teachers aren't robots. They're human too."

Hagakure stood in excitement as if the discussion was a game show, "What if it's Midnight-sensei?! She'd make homeroom so much fun! And I could totally see her being late to class on the first day!"

Mineta began slightly drooling from his mouth, "Yeah, fun… I'd never skip her class..."

From the back, Tokoyami spoke up, "This is why we must always value patience. Whether we know it or not, the abyss watches… and waits. Sometimes we can only be ready when it reveals itself."

Sero leaned his head on his hands, "Relax, guys. Maybe he's stuck in traffic. I was almost stuck in it but the bus driver broke the red light 'cause he knew it was my first day."

Sato pulled out a cookie as he began munching, "Or he's carb-loading. Hero work needs fuel. I wouldn't blame him for prioritizing breakfast. I had to eat on the way here because I almost overslept."

Aoyama struck another pose, "Non! A star such as I requires a mentor equally radiant! Perhaps they're perfecting their entrance!"

I continued listening to their nonsensical theories about my whereabouts.

Some of them had the right ideas, but weren't willing to fully commit to it and search their environments. A lesson they would learn in the future eventually. Such carelessness was unacceptable.

Then my gaze flicked to the final desk—second row, second column.

'Empty'

'19/20 students from the roster. We're still missing—'

Just then, the door slid open.

'—Him...'

A boy with sharp gold eyes and disheveled black hair leaned against the door frame—

Crunch

—a half eaten apple in his hand.

The student walked in with his relaxed but calculating posture. Despite that, he also looked completely tired. As if he didn't sleep well.

'Something I'm very familiar with.'

But it was peculiar to see, given the listed personality from his student files. He seemed like a student who planned what he did every hour of every day. Lack of sleep didn't seem something he'd account for.

The boy received the top score in the written exams and near-perfect tactical scores. But because of the way the entrance exam is scored, he placed 24th in the combat section.

He didn't emit strong aura or presence, just an intensely sharp gaze scanning the room with a facial expression that showed… familiarity? Nostalgia?

But that wasn't surprising since he's met some of these students already, and was neighbors with another.

However, this student was someone I didn't expect to be placed in class 1A. I advocated for his placement in 1B. But the principal was rather adamant on his placement here.

The boy's gaze swept the room like a scope, lingering on the students, then at the floor, and finally— at the roof where I was hiding.

With a raised brow, he made eye contact with me through the hidden peeping hole as—

Crunch

—He took another bite of the apple nonchalantly.

'The kid's observant and doesn't miss details.'

'He might lack a flashy power, but… he's clever. He could become a pro hero like Nezu. But Hero work and UA are nothing like a chessboard. I'll need to see how he'll perform under real pressure in a genuine fight.'

Just then, the boy looked away.

He swallowed and took another bite. "You're all terrible at hide-and-seek. Our teacher is in the room."

Kaminari spun his head, "Where?!"

The boy strode towards the chalkboard, apple in hand, and picked up the metal meter-long ruler.

Then he walked forward a bit, and began inspecting the roof.

"What's he doing?" Ojiro asked, as the boy continued to search. Until he smiled.

Bam

He pierced the intersected beam of the tiles I was balanced on, snapping it in two.

Swoosh!

Thud!

Like an exposed caterpillar, I fell through the rood and was now laying down directly on top of my desk. Still snug within my sleeping bag with a roof tile underneath me.

"…"

"…"

"Call me Aizawa sensei." I said with a dead tired voice. "I'll be your homeroom teacher from now on."

"DON'T SKIP OVER WHAT JUST HAPPENED!" The class roared.

But I just ignored them.

The boy smiled at me, "Dust-free floors are a myth. Did you purposefully leave tracks behind for us to find? Plus seeing an eye in the roof is hard to miss."

I glanced up at the student as I unzipped my sleeping bag and stepped out.

'Hakuro Amago. Quirk: Pattern. Observant to a fault. His sarcasm masks idealism—or maybe just ego. Either way, he'll either sharpen this class or cut them apart.'

Mina squealed, "He was IN the roof?! That's so creepy-cool!"

Iida adjusted his glasses, "As expected of a U.A. staff member. Perfectly hidden in plain sight. I never suspected a thing."

Tsuyu nodded her head, "Makes sense, ribbit. No one normally expects a roof to be hiding someone."

I spoke with a gravelly tone, "...Took you all long enough."

Hakuro prodded the cushioned bag, "The yellow sleeping bag is a nice touch Aizawa sensei. Matches your… vibrant personality."

I ignored his comment and addressed the rest of the class, "He noticed me ten minutes faster than the rest of you. Remember that. Always be aware of your surroundings. Jiro, Shouji, you two should have had the easiest time to be alerted to my presence but you were distracted and relaxed. Make sure you fix that and see that it doesn't happen again."

Jiro nervously smiled, "Heard sensei."

Shouji nodded seriously, "Understood. I'll stay more focused."

Bakugo erupted from his seat with his palms crackling as he glared at Hakuro, "HOW'D YOU GET INTO THIS CLASS, MR. KNOW-IT-ALL?!"

Hakuro smirked, tossing the apple core into a trash bin, "Didn't you just answer your own question Bakugo? It's because I 'know it all.' What school would pass up on a genius like me?"

Bakugo slammed his desk, smoke billowing, "THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT! YOU GOT 24TH ON THE RANKING! THERE'S NO REASON FOR THEM TO LET YOU IN!"

Hakuro ignored him as he went back to staring at each student in the class, "Relax fireworks. Save your energy for the teacher's sadistic 'test.' he'll have us do in five minutes."

I glanced at Hakuro from the corner of my eye.

'How does he know about the quirk assessment? Did one of the second years tell him?'

Mineta spoke aloud, unfiltered like always, "Isn't it kinda creepy how he just watches everyone so... intently?"

Hakuro shrugged with a lazy smile. "Not creepy. Just analytical. It's how my mind works. You can't fault me for having an eye for detail."

He leaned in slightly, eyes twinkling with mischief. "Though, Mineta, I did notice you looking at others just as intensely as me. But less observation and more perverted leering. Not subtle at all. I advice you to fix that habit before your sued in the future."

The girls near Mineta shot him a look, causing Mineta to begin to sweat nervously as he avoided eye contact and attempted to shrink himself.

At the same time Kaminari leaned toward Sero and whispered, "What's up with the new guy? He's, like, really sizing us up. I feel like he's staring into my soul."

Sero, slightly amused, replied, "I think he's just... observant. Looks like we're in for a show."

Hakuro raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Talking about me already, Mr. electricity related quirk."

Kaminari froze, eyes wide. "Wait, how—? You just— You picked up my quirk from a whisper?"

Hakuro's smile widened. "In this world, patterns tell all. Your foot's constant fidgeting suggests hyperactivity—likely a side effect of an energy-based Quirk. And such quirk users are known to have slight creased scars around their eyes from their childhood. The early abundance of literal energy in your veins caused certain cells to accelerate their growth, and stretch your skin too much. Hence the scarring from the slight tears over the years. It usually fades as the user gets older, but if you know what to look for—like me— then you can see them easily."

The rest of the class went quiet and exchanged curious glances.

Jiro plugged a jack into her phone with an unamused look. "Great.... A detective in the class. How fun. I've always loved riddles..."

Uraraka tilted her head, curious. "So you can just... guess things by looking at us?"

Hakuro met her gaze with a neutral but not unkind tone. "It's not magic. People give away more than they realize. It's about reading the subtle details. The way you hold your posture, how you shift your weight, all the little gestures you make."

"Okay, but that's kinda excessive, don't you think?" Jirou quipped, crossing her arms. "You make us sound like an open book."

Hakuro raised an eyebrow in a more playful tone. "Well, most people are an open book to me. They just don't realize they're writing it in a giant font that I can read."

The class fell into a thoughtful silence, a mixture of curiosity, being impressed, or being creeped out.

Mina, always the enthusiast, raised her hand eagerly. "Ooh, ooh! What's your name, Detective?!"

"Ah yes. My mistake." Hakuro walked forward to the center front and with a slight, almost imperceptible smile.

"I'm Hakuro Amago, the twentieth, and final student of—

Chapter 11 - "Class 1A"

------------------------

Hey all!

I hope you enjoyed the chapter.

I hope I captured all the essences of each student from class 1A. I obviously would have wanted to make there A LOT more dialogue and interaction between each individual, but it's hard when there are 20 students.

Also, I might do 2 chapters per week. I'll see how it goes.

Like always, let me know if there's something I should improve on! This is my first fanfic after all.

But even better, let me know if it was good!

Have a good day!
