A horde of men rushes out to the hallway where Blaze and William are currently in.
They all have weapons in their hands. Some possess machetes. Some wield baseball bats. A few hold knives in their hands. And fewer hold nothing but their fist.
Blaze scans the enemies. They aren't showing any particular powers at the moment. He just has to improvise his way through.
"You choose the wrong EE to cause trouble, cocksucker!"
"We're gonna bash your skull in!"
"What are you doing, William?!"
Some recognize the leader of the Nocturnal Animals right away and begin questioning.
A goon picks up a call and nods repeatedly to someone on the other line.
"That's not William. It's a shapeshifter. Rufus confirmed it."
"Haha! So that's why!"
"Kill them, boys!"
In the basement of the roof, a yellow fireball phases through the walls, looking for something.
The basement of this mansion is incredibly huge. They have a room full of cages and iron beds. Isaac can see some girls being held here.
His soul flickers due to the scene, showing the turmoil inside his mind.

The more he sees the reality of what he got himself into, the more regret he feels.

And then he finds a particular room. A room with five capsules standing.
The capsules hold women inside. Isaac can see they all have some type of wound, extremely serious wounds.
A light blue liquid fills the capsule, and each girl has a breathing mask strapped to their face.
The notorious Nadyr Brozovic is actually here, standing in front of the capsules and watching the girl.
A man rushes in from outside. Isaac hides himself in the corner of the room, observing the scene.
"Boss! Someone is attacking us!"
The nameless goon says.
Nadyr turns back. The guy has a buzz cut with shaved sides. He's huge, almost reaching 2 meters in height.
He's a walking tank with bulging muscles in every part of his body. His shoulder is broad and towers over the nameless goon in front.
Nadyr wears a white tank top instead of pink. He has never had bloodstains on his shirt. A moon tattoo visibly lies on his left chest.
"Who?"
"We don't know! Some freak with a black cloak and a shapeshifter in William's appearance."
"Hmm."
Nadyr takes out a phone, trying to connect with someone, but all he gets is the long beeping sound.
"William has gone MIA for a few hours. Even in the Void, he should be able to contact us.
William is probably dead."
"What do we do now, Boss?"
"Call Rufus. Tell him to report this to our sponsor."
"What? Is it that serious?"
"William may be a C-rank, but he is in the high tiers of the C. Whoever killed him is at least a B-rank.

Nadyr clenches his fist, veins popping up on the skin like snakes.
"Gather all our men. Do whatever it takes to kill the intruder.

Then the men leave the room.
Isaac turns back into a raven and flies over to the capsules.
There are five girls here, and even though they are covered in medical equipment and blue liquid, Isaac can still see their faces.
Alyson is here, floating in one of the capsules. The machine is treating her at this moment, nursing her wounds and recovering her health.
So this is why William said as long as they aren't dead…
Advanced regenerating machine. This can even pull a man at death's door back to the living realm.
She is unharmed. That's a relief.
Isaac takes a closer look, and apart from the wound he and his team inflicted on her, no other wounds are visible.
Well... Saying she is unharmed is an exaggeration. I did harm her.
Locating Alyson mission is completed. All that is left now is making sure she is okay until Blaze comes.

Behind Blaze, a number of men are still standing, most of them with burns on their skin. A lot of them lie motionless on the floor, no longer breathing.
"What's the meaning of this?!"
The naked man in the room shouts.
Blaze looks over. A girl is being tied on to the bed and the other, a fat pig that looks a lot like Phuc.
"Filthy pig!"
Blaze says, pointing the Destruction Wand at him.
Blue lightning shoots out, sending the man flying onto the wall. Blue electricity overwhelms him and cracks the wall behind.

"Release the girl."
Blaze gestures to William. He immediately runs toward her.
The fight has only begun for a bit. All William has to do is watch and release any girl they come across.
"What are you doing here, freak?!"
One of the men in the hallway shouts.
Blaze doesn't answer. He rotates his head, cracking his neck, and raises the bone wand again.
The men scatter to avoid the shot. But in this narrow space, they have nowhere to run.
Thunder roars again, deafening the ears of everyone present.
The naked girl covers her ears but still gets stunned by the sound.
The blue lightning strikes at a goon, bursting his head into pieces.

Another C-rank Awakened eats the dirt.
Having superpowers or not, these scumbags still cannot escape the only rule that applies to all mankind.
Everyone dies.
"Get close to him! We cannot let him kill us from a distance one by one!"
A goon yells, and they all charge at him.

A dark sphere envelops the hallway again.
William continues to release the girl, not even looking at the scene.

The naked girl is repulsed when William gets close.

The girl yells at him with all her being.
William freezes in place.
Then he sighs.
"Yes, I did. But that's not who I am anymore. I am now a servant to Master. I'm here to rescue you."
"That guy... Who is he? Why is he doing this?"
"He... He is the Wraith. He's doing this because it is the right thing to do."
The girl looks over to the dark and frightening hallway. Even though darkness represents a primordial fear in mankind, its shadow is now more soothing than everything in this girl's life.
That darkness is now her salvation.
