He had decided to save those two beautiful ladies because their life is ultimately bound to his own life.
He have to make sure of their safety otherwise the curse from previous owner of this body will kill him and even if he is not killed a heartdemon will form in his heart which will hinder his cultivation in future.
Suddenly, he moaned and acted as if he were coming to his senses.
The two bandits, who had decided to call for reinforcements, paused when they saw him.
The younger bandit exclaimed, "Oh, we almost forgot about you!"
Old Pang slapped the younger bandit's head and said, "It's your mistake! Go and kill him!"
"No! Run, brother!" Xie Long shouted.
"Yes, run away!" Yun Rong urged from the window.
"Oh, run away? You two really think he can escape from us?"
Xie Long stood up, cleaned his clothes and replied, "Who said I'm going to run away?" He smiled mysteriously.
"Oh kid, why are you smiling? Have you gone made?" the younger bandit asked.
The young bandit couldn't understand why this man was smiling, knowing he was about to die.
Yun Rong pleaded, "You can't win against them! Don't try to fight them—just run away Xie Long!"
Yun Rong, her heart racing, thought, *It looks like we have to sacrifice ourselves to save him.*
She glanced at Yun Ning and as if understanding her sister's thought she nodded in silent agreement.
They had decided to offer their lives to save Xie Long. After all, he went outside the formation just to save them.
But Xie Long's next action shocked them completely.
"B-boss, please, leave me! I don't want to die! I will become your servant; I can do anything for you!" he cried, clutching the young bandit's legs.
The young bandit was startled. This one appeared tough on the outside, but he was clearly fragile inside, thought Old Pang, deceived by Xie Long's act.
"I don't want a good-for-nothing servant like you!" the young bandit said, raising his sword to kill him.
"Wait! What if I told you I could break that formation for you?" Xie Long blurted out.
"What?" both bandits echoed in unison.
The girls looked on in shock, realizing that while they were planning to sacrifice themselves to save Xie Long, he was sacrificing them to save his own life.
*How mean!* thought Yun Rong. "This is not possible."
*No, this can't be! He can't do this!* Yun Ning protested in her mind.
Both of them know him since their childhood and they know his character very well but the current him is completely strange to them.
Even the two bandits were surprised by Xie Long's bold claim.
Old Pang became angry and said, "Do we look like fools to you?"
"After all, you've grown up with them and the village head Yun Tian treated you like his own son," Old Pang said, kicking Xie Long.
"And you are saying you can betray them."
"Boom!"
"What are you planning kid?" asked the old bandit.
Xie Long flew into a nearby wall.
As he fell, he replied defiantly, "I am not planning anything. I just want to save my life, and I will sacrifice anyone to do so."
He continued with a frustrated look, "And who said I grew up with them? Yun Tian is a selfish man."
"He sent both of his daughters to academy for studying and practice methods of cultivation but he kept me here in the village to do the chores for him."
"He never let me cultivate. He fears that if I become stronger he will lose a free servant."
"He will not have anyone to do the work for him."
"If he can be so selfish, what's wrong with me being selfish this time?"
Yun Rong cursed through the window, "It's not right. You are talking nonsense. You also know that he is not like that. He loves you more than us."
"He doesn't let you cultivate because he doesn't want to be separated from you."
Yun Ning also defended her father and said, "Sister is right. He loves you more than us. Remember, he even promised to marry one of us to you."
"If he doesn't love you why will he promise to give his daughter to you?"
She asked with tears in her eyes, "Tell me, why will he decide to marry his daughter to you?"
Xie Long patted his clothes while cleaning the dust and replied, "He is very clever. He wants to cover up his selfishness. That's why he makes such empty promises."
He asked, "Is there any written evidence?"
"And if he really wants to marry one of you to me why doesn't he do that till now?"
He answered, "Let me tell you."
"These were nothing but empty promises he made. He will later use any silly excuse to break his promises."
Yun Ning wants to say something, but Yun Rong stopped her.
She said to her, 'Say no more... There is no point in saying anything to him. It would be an insult to our father's goodwill.'
Xie Long said to Old Pang, "Now, you know why I am betraying them."
A determined look had settled on his face as he locked eyes with Old Pang.
Those eyes… Even Old Pang became uncomfortable under Xie Long's gaze, which resembled that of a predator sizing up its prey.
Although Old Pang is convinced by his points but it is still not enough to make him trust Xie Long.
Xie Long had already guessed that this will not be enough to make the bandits trust him.
He came near Yun Tian's dead body and kicked him.
He said inwardly, "I am sorry Yun Tian, but to save your daughters' life, I have to do this. Hope you will not mind."
"You rascal! You scoundrel! You unfilial wretch!" cursed Yun Rong. "Our father treated you like his own son! He raised you, gave you food, clothes, and a place to live, and you repay him like this?"
"Sorry, miss, but those who are dead are not important. Those who are still alive matter more. I didn't ask him to do all that for me."
Old Pang hesitated, questioning whether to trust Xie Long. But the young bandit whispered something in his ear, and Old Pang's eyes glowed with understanding.
"Bro, I think it would be wise to spare him for now. After all, he has no cultivation—what can he do to us?"
"And he clearly proved his points by kicking that old man's body. Think about it, who can kick their own father's dead body?
