Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Stepping on Tang San

Ye Qiu held a piece of grass between his lips, casually glancing towards the door.

A delicate young girl stood outside Dorm Seven. She seemed to be about the same age as Ye Qiu, with a similar height.

Her fair and rosy face looked as tender as a ripe peach, making one feel an urge to take a bite.

Though her clothes were simple, they were impeccably clean. Her long black hair was braided into a scorpion-tail braid that hung past her waist, giving her an almost porcelain-doll-like beauty.

Ye Qiu studied the girl at the door, a faintly amused smile playing on his lips.

So this is the notorious rogue rabbit, Xiao Wu?

She certainly looked good.

He wondered if, once she grew up, those long legs of hers would really be as powerful as rumored.

Ye Qiu remained seated on his bed, watching silently.

Meanwhile, Tang San, having just become the dorm leader, snapped out of his momentary daze. He raised a hand to cover his mouth and whispered to Wang Sheng:

"Do we have mixed-gender dorms here?"

Wang Sheng nodded blankly, his eyes never leaving the girl as he replied in a hushed tone:

"This dorm has dozens of beds, so there's plenty of space. The academy isn't a charity, and we're all still kids. I heard that gender separation only happens in the Advanced Soul Master Academy."

As he spoke, Wang Sheng suddenly snapped back to his senses. He nudged Tang San's waist with his elbow.

"Boss, go! Show her who's in charge!"

"Huh?! Is that really necessary?"

Tang San hesitated. He hadn't expected that, as soon as he became the dorm leader, he'd have to challenge a delicate-looking little girl.

The girl at the door blinked her large, innocent eyes, her brows furrowing slightly.

Seeing that no one was acknowledging her, she glanced at the dorm's sign that read "Dorm Seven" and frowned even deeper.

"Am I not allowed to enter?"

"You can, but you'll have to wait a bit."

Ye Qiu leaned against the bedframe, smiling as he replied.

Although Xiao Wu looked delicate and cute, she was still just a child. He wasn't as easily dumbfounded as Tang San and the others.

"Wait?!"

The girl lightly touched her lips with her finger, clearly confused.

Seeing this, Wang Sheng grew more anxious. He kept prodding Tang San, urging him not to break tradition.

Tang San sighed helplessly. Left with no choice, he reluctantly stepped forward and stood in front of the girl, looking slightly awkward.

"Hello, I'm Tang San, the dorm leader here. Our Dorm Seven has a tradition—new working students must demonstrate their strength. So, I'd like to have a spar with you. Is that okay?"

"A spar? Are you sure?"

Hearing this, the girl's big, lively eyes sparkled with excitement.

So that's why they made her wait?

Xiao Wu loves this kind of thing!

"I'm sure!"

Tang San nodded lightly.

"Great! Let's do it!"

The girl grinned, setting down the academy uniform she had been holding onto an empty bed.

Turning back to face Tang San, she introduced herself briefly:

"My name is Xiao Wu, like 'dance' in dancing. My martial soul is a rabbit—a very cute little white rabbit. Oh, and I have innate full soul power! What about you?"

As she spoke, two adorable dimples appeared on her cheeks, making her look even more charming.

Even Ye Qiu was slightly impressed by her beauty.

Let alone Tang San, who had spent his previous life obsessed with hidden weapons and had barely interacted with girls.

Tang San stared at her, momentarily dazed.

Meanwhile, the other students in the dorm were buzzing with excitement.

"Another innate full soul power?!"

"Hm?"

Xiao Wu glanced curiously at Wang Sheng and the others before turning back to Tang San, puffing out her cheeks slightly.

"Hey! Are we fighting or not?!"

"Ah, oh… My martial soul is Blue Silver Grass. I also have innate full soul power!"

Tang San quickly snapped out of it, answering hurriedly.

"Blue Silver Grass? That weak martial soul has innate full soul power too?"

Xiao Wu tilted her head in surprise, glancing at Tang San with curiosity.

Though she found it odd, she didn't dwell on it for long.

Flicking her scorpion braid, she smiled mischievously.

"Alright, let's start!"

She barely finished speaking before her right leg suddenly shot up, her toes aimed at Tang San's chin.

Though the move didn't seem particularly powerful, it was extremely fast, catching Tang San off guard.

However, he quickly reacted, stepping back to dodge.

Xiao Wu pushed off with her left foot and leaped forward, her nimble body soaring through the air as she aimed a kick at Tang San's head.

Smack!

Tang San caught her ankle mid-air.

Realizing that Xiao Wu wasn't as ordinary as she looked, he got a little more serious and swiftly tossed her away.

"Ah—!"

Gasps erupted from the onlookers.

Just as they thought the delicate girl was about to crash hard onto the floor, Xiao Wu twisted her body mid-air and landed steadily, stunning Tang San.

Swish!

But Xiao Wu didn't care about "martial ethics."

Before Tang San could react, she planted her hands on the ground, using them as leverage to flip up and execute a deadly scissor-kick toward his head.

Smack!

Tang San wasn't easy to deal with either. He raised both arms, successfully blocking her attack.

But Xiao Wu wasn't discouraged. Using her waist and core strength, she bent her entire body, her long scorpion braid whipping toward Tang San's face.

So fast!

Tang San was caught off guard.

He tried to step back, but it was too late.

Xiao Wu's foot had already hooked around his neck.

Smack!

"Ahh—!"

Her braid lashed across Tang San's face, leaving a bright red mark.

A stinging pain made him gasp sharply.

Strike while the iron is hot!

Xiao Wu landed lightly and, without hesitation, launched another kick upwards, striking Tang San's chin.

"Ahhh—!"

Tang San let out a miserable cry as his small body was sent flying.

Biu—!

He soared through the air in a graceful arc before crashing to the ground with a heavy thud.

Even with his endurance, the impact left him breathless, his bones aching.

Ye Qiu, watching from the side, couldn't help but wince.

That looked painful.

Tang San barely managed to move, just as Xiao Wu suddenly leaped into the air—

And landed directly on his back.

Looking down at him with a smug expression, she grinned.

"How about that? I win!"

Lying beneath her, Tang San let out a bitter chuckle.

He wasn't one to argue—he never cared much about being the dorm leader anyway. He nodded slightly.

"I lost. According to our rules, since you beat me, you're now the boss of Dorm Seven."

"Boss?"

Xiao Wu's eyes sparkled with excitement.

"This sounds fun! Alright, from now on, I'm your boss!"

She confidently put her hands on her hips and declared loudly:

"Listen up! From now on, I'm your leader! My name is Xiao Wu, like 'dance' in dancing. You'll all call me Big Sis Xiao Wu!"

"Come on, let me hear you say it!"

Still in shock from Tang San's defeat, Wang Sheng and the others quickly snapped to attention and responded in unison.

"Big Sis Xiao Wu!"

"Good! Very good!"

Xiao Wu beamed with delight.

Even in the human world, she was still the boss!

"...Xiao Wu, can you get off me now?"

A weak voice came from beneath her feet.

Only then did she realize she was still standing on Tang San.

"Oh! I totally forgot about you!"

She giggled sheepishly and hopped off, but not before reminding him:

"Don't forget to call me Big Sis Xiao Wu!"

Tang San forced a smile as he got up.

Yeah, that's not happening.
