After a few hours, the sirens stop, and we are released from the Bunker. We are told to go in pairs and retrieve our armor before we head to a temporary fortified barracks.
"We're going to be sharing a bed tonight, I hope you're ready." She winks as she leans on me.
"No, I'm going to ask them for a separate bed."
"You know, you're a real stick in my panties, can't you ever just agree with me!" She recoils in disgust. "And what's the deal with that collar? Didn't realize you were so kinky?"
Gritting my teeth, I struggle against the leather choker, yet no matter what I do- I can't get this stupid collar off! "No, this is merely a prison sentence for a crime I was falsy accused of."
"Whatever you say, alcapone."
With a wave, I head towards my dorm. "I'm going to grab my stuff, don't go too far, I don't want to lose you."
"Aw."
"I meant that physically."
The door know is broken open.
I hope they didn't destroy my stuff.
Looking up at the top bunk, Hallow isn't there, it seems he made it out.
Turning on the night light, I begin to pack up my necklace and armor, it's pretty much all I have accumulated.
The night light glows a cozy circle, and yet, in the corner, there's a red stain.
Squatting down, I inspect it, only to discover a trail...
My body begins to tremble as I pull out Balif.
Trying to slow my heart, I whisper. "Can you detect anything?"
"There are currently zero hostiles in your AO."
Following the trail of blood, I hear a squish, lifting my shoe, there is an eyeball.
With a gasp, my breath begins to hasten with each step down the trail.
It eventually leads to the bathroom.
Holding my breath, the door creaks as I slowly push it open as I pray for another miracle.
The bathroom is lit by the moonlight as it shines in through the window.
Above the bath-
Vomiting, I fall to my knees.
Above the bath is hallows crucified corpse, his insides are disembowled, as his eyeballs are missing, and his tongue is cut. Like a dissected frog, his limbs have been nailed to the wall.
It's just like back then, the evicerated bodies, the organs sloshing in the bathtub. And the expressions of fear glued to the corpses, as you can imagine, the despair of their last moments.
His crushed core lies implanted in his squished heart.
On the wall beside his body is a message spelled lazily with his organs: See you soon :)
This-
This was me, I could have done something.
Balif warned me, yet I shrugged it off.
Pulling out Balif, I yell. "...Go ahead! Say it! Say I told you so!"
"Your honor, there is nothing to say."
"Say that you were right about the invasion!"
"I was, and you listened."
"But... I could have warned Hallow!"
"There is no need to concern yourself with the death of the jury. You are all that matters, your Honor."
"I matter? That can't possibly be true!"
Kneeling there, I feel tears trickle down.
While his cries went unheard, I was hopping around like a fucking bunny!
Clenching my fist, I claw my hands on the wooden floor.
Blood floods through the cracks as splinters sink into my skin.
My voice trembles as I whimper. "I'm sorry... I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY!"
"Coco, I heard y-" Toko walks in and looks up at Hallow's corpse, yet she doesn't scream, nor vomit. Instead, she walks over, holding me in her arms as she pats my head. "You can't blame yourself for this, Coco, there was nothing you could have done."
"But there was! I could have woken him up, I could have ran back! I could have saved him!"
She wipes my tears. "But instead you ran to ME, and saved ME. Are you saying you regret your choice? That you would rather have let me die?"
My eyes widen as they burn red. "wha- no, its just that...I."
She hugs me. "You made a difficult decsion, yet you chose me. For that I... love... you. In this world, there is no one else, and you dont need anyone else.
I will always be next to you."
