Chapter 5 - 5: Visitors In My Bedroom

Lilac

I sat up abruptly, the rest of the sleep evaporating into thin air as my heart began to pound against my ribs. My eyes widened as they began to move away from the doorway, towards the bed I was sitting in.

"Please leave. You shouldn't be here." I said with as much force as I could muster, my eyes flying around for anything I could use as a weapon. There was nothing I could use to defend myself and that made more panic lurch through me.

I saw them briefly back at Malachi's party but I thought they'd be too busy celebrating with their friends. What the hell are they doing in here?

"Why not? It's no longer fun back in the party, which was why we decided to come find you so we could all have a little fun together. What do you think?" Eli asked as he stopped at the foot of my bed.

At this point, I had stopped breathing. There was absolutely nowhere to run to.

The last time I was cornered by them- two days ago, when Malachi saved me, he asked me to be careful next time. I was being careful this time- I'm literally in my bedroom and I did lock the door, so how did they even get in?

Oh heavens.

"Leave my bedroom." I struggled to get the word out, and the boys laughed after exchanging looks with each other.

As Theo and Cyrus began to close the distance between the sides of the bed, not knowing what else to do, I grabbed the sheet and held it against myself protectively, feeling beyond relieved that I hadn't undressed after I returned after the party.

But does that even matter anyway? From what they're implying, they're gonna try forcing themselves on me and my cover would instantly be blown up.

"You sound so adorable." Eli said, placing a foot on the bed and I almost passed out.

"Why are you guys doing this? You don't like me, so why!?!"

Theo shrugged and began to loosen his belt to my dismay. "Because it's fun to do it when girls try to resist." He informed me and bile gathered in my throat.

"You're sick. You're all sick!" I screamed at them, holding onto the sheets tighter. My words bounced off their shoulders easily and in the next moment, Eli clapped his hands.

"Let's get this over with, boys. we don't have much time." He said to his two friends and at once, Theo and Cyrus came to stand at the two sides of my bed. I squealed and pressed myself against the headboard before letting out an ear piercing scream.

Eli rolled his eyes while unbuckling his belt.

"Don't bother doing that. Everyone is down at the party. You're the only one here. You should have been a little smarter, I guess." He winked as he said those words, and I screamed again when he effortlessly pulled on the sheets I had been clutching on.

"Bastard!" I screamed at him and he laughed, head thrown back.

"Yeah, that's it. That little spitfire that always fought back while we were growing up even though you'd always lose… where did it suddenly go? So it was hidden underneath all this poise this whole time, hm?" Eli drawled as he flung the sheet behind him, making me feel extremely bare even with my ball gown still on.

"Grab her arms." Eli said to his two friends and I screamed, kicking and trying to twist away, but it was pointless. They were way stronger and had my arms pinned to the bed in no time while I screamed and tried to stop my tears from falling.

"Aw… cute little Lilac, you're making this seem like this isn't just a little, harmless fun." Eli drawled as he began to crawl over me, making me start to trash wildly, hoping to kick him in his balls or his throat so he could die instantly.

I was still thrashing around when the sound of my bedroom door suddenly opening all of us to freeze up at once, our eyes panning to the doorway together.

Malachi stood in the doorway, taking up all the space there with his commanding presence.

Relief instantly rushed through my veins and I trashed harder this time.

"Malachi, please help me." I cried out desperately.

A few heartbeats passed before he strolled into the room and closed the door after him.

He leisurely walked towards us, his facial expression not changing as he stopped beside the bed and peered down at me, our eyes instantly locking.

He was silent, eyes never leaving mine and my panic only grew because none of his friends were stepping away from me yet.

"Malachi," I whispered, blinking up at him in confusion.

A few moments later, a look from him had his friends letting go of me and stepping away, then they were leaving without a word, closing the door after themselves.

Silence stretched out between us, thick and heavy.

Before I could react, he was bending over the bed, face inches away from mine, right before he stroked a thumb over my wet cheeks.

"So pretty." He whispered and it felt like I got dunked in ice water.

"Mala…" I began but he shushed me softly, his thumb moving from my wet cheeks to trail over my parted lips.

"I told you I wasn't gonna help you next time, didn't I?" He suddenly spoke, and I struggled to grasp his words, not when he leaned closer and crashed his lips over mine.

I remained still, eyes wide and feeling completely lost, before I trashed violently and screamed after tearing my lips away from his.

"Ma- Malachi… what are you- what's going on?" I choked out, feeling like the whole situation just got ten times worse right now.

Malachi shrugged, fingers carding through my hair.

"I am the heir to the throne. In a few years, I'll sit on the throne. You know what that means?" He asked in that low voice of his. Before I could respond he was continuing.

"It means I can do whatever I want. It means I now have power over everyone except the current king. It means I now have power over you, Lilac."

I blinked at him in confusion, unsure of what he meant.

"You're gorgeous, Lilac. There's something about you… I can't put my fingers on it." He added and I squinted at him, realizing that he wasn't messing around.

"What? I'm your- your sibling, and I'm older than you! What is this supposed to mean? That's sick and, and disturbing!" I cried out, starting to trash around again because now the panic was so much worse.

"Silly Lilac." He husked, tone coaxing like I was a dumb animal and I tried to sit up next, but his hand on my shoulder prevented that from happening, making my heart fly into my throat again.

"Initially, I wasn't gonna help you after hearing you scream for help, because I never go back on my words. After my idiot friends went missing, I knew they were heading here next. They're so stupid and so obvious, the way they're so obsessed with you. But I guess something did change my mind and here I am, saving you… again." He continued and the nervousness inside me thickened even more.

"Thank-"

A finger shushed me.

"I don't help people twice. I don't help people at all. What are you gonna repay me with?" He husked out, his breath hitting my lips as he spoke, making me feel paralyzed with fear.

"Malachi p- please, you're making me u- uncomfortable." I stuttered and instead of pulling away, he straddled me instead.

"I want to leave, please." I whispered, feeling extremely helpless. Malachi chuckled lowly against my cheek, I've never heard him chuckle before.

When our eyes met again, they were hard and filled with so much hatred, right before his hand clamped over my throat, instantly cutting off my windpipe.

"Think you're such a smart little thing, don't you?" He husked out against my lips as I struggled to breath. My eyes watered and my legs kicked out desperately, but he only chuckled again, like he found this very amusing.

"Tell me, Lilac… Do you think I don't know your little secret?" He continued and I instantly went still, my whole face morphing into a shocked expression as my eyes widened.

He released my throat and I could breathe again, but I couldn't draw in any air due to my nervous state.

He knows… my secret?

My secret that I've kept since birth?!!

Oh heavens…

"That's why you left the party early, no? Cause you couldn't stomach feeling cheated any moment longer. I saw it over your face all the way from the podium." He continued, not making a move to pull away from me and I gaped at him in realization.

He really does know my secret…

"I should go back down there and announce your secret to everyone. I should kill you myself because your presence is now a threat to my throne." This time, his hand circled my throat without squeezing.

I've stopped breathing again at this point.

"But you know the funniest part? Despite knowing the truth, I still want to kiss you, I still want to fuck you. That's sick, isn't it?"

I struggled for what to respond with. All of this was hard to process at once.

"I- I…" I was still speaking when a loud horn being blasted pierced through the atmosphere. That was an alarm tune.

Malachi was off me and by my window in an instant just as a loud voice announced loudly.

"THE KING IS MISSING. I REPEAT, THE KING IS MISSING. NO ONE IS TO LEAVE THIS VICINITY NO MATTER WHAT."
